The purpose of this research consists in the process analysis and studying of the Residents-Participated Workshop which aims to improve the environment of common areas at the rental apartments, and also to present the spacial designs for the improved environment. The objects of this research are Susojugong Rental Apartments and total 3 Residents-Participated Workshops were held. The contents of the research are as follows; 1) Background and purposes of resident environmental improvement and associated group of people were examined. 2) Execution of Residents-Participated Workshop programs and the analysis of the process to present the plans of environmental improvement. The results of the research are; 1) representing variety of opinions and the increased sense of participation. 2) possibility of presenting designs initiated by residents through participatory design workshop. 3) improvement of relationships between managerial authorities, specialists and residents. 4) the place of interchange among residents. 5) necessity of assisting workshop tool, Resident-Participated Workshop programs and schedules. Environmentally improved designs which were presented at the workshop have been actually demonstrated at the Rental Apartments of this research. Follow up research on the process of construction, maintenance management of the construction after completion and the full contents should be studied further.

For the past few decades, residential improvement projects have been mainly carried out after demolition of the original dwelling place. So far, interests and opinions of the existing residents have largely been ignored during the projects. However, citizen participation in local redevelopment has recently been regarded as essential part as progress in democracy and diversified public interests have offered more importance to citizen participation in the implementation of public policies. While the importance of resident participation has been increasingly emphasized in principle, there still has been more to do in its application in reality. We should develop the experience of collecting community opinion to make them reflected in public policy, if we are to achieve the resident and citizen-centered society. The purpose of this study is to develop an image map tool that can be applied to "Maul-Mandulgi" projects as a visualized method to facilitate the exchange of opinions and work toward agreements. The tool is supposed to assist the public discussion by visualizing the policies and reducing the possibility of misunderstanding, so that residents can properly respond to them. In addition, this study will verify the effectiveness of the tool in the application to local community workshops.

The purpose of this study was to examine how residents of assisted living facility (ALF) are satisfied with their residence and to identify the reasons for this satisfaction or dissatisfaction as a home. For this purpose, residents'experiences and opinions of the physical environment, the social environment, and the organizational environments such as policies and programs of ALFs were identified. As a multi-site case study, five ALFS in Southwest Virginia were studied using a cross-case analysis. Face-to-face interviews with 25 residents and five administrators of five ALFs, observations, and personal journal were done. Regardless of the type of facilities and the residents'characteristics, most of the respondents were satisfied with their current dwelling. In spite of high satisfaction with the facility, many people did not think of their current dwelling as a real "home." Residents of ALFs may have reordered their priorities in their current life situation so that safety, security, and care were more important to them than feeling "at home.""at home."

본 연구는 지역주민들의 지방자치에 대한 인식과 더불어 지방자치 주체들의 참여와 관련한 기본적 기능에 대한 인식, 그리고 주민들의 참여인식과 의지를 분석하고 주민참여를 위한 정책방향을 찾고자 하였다. 분석결과 지방자치에 대한 인식과 주민참여제도 및 의견수렴에 있어 긍정적인 응답이 낮게 나타나고 있었다. 주민들의 참여는 정책의 갈등을 줄이고 성과를 높일 수 있으며 주민들에게는 지역에 대한 관심과 개인적 정치참여를 통한 행복감을 높여 줄 수 있다. 우리나라의 지방자치가 지속적이고 안정적으로 성장할 수 있도록 주민참여에 대한 인식전환에서부터 효율적 제도운영까지 다양한 문제들에 대하여 재점검과 개선의 노력이 요구된다.

This study aims to understand differences in what specialists groups think important to establish district units plans. The result of the study is as follows. There were differences in thinking by specialists on standards and procedure of establishment, characteristics of the plans. For the standards of establishment, there was a remarkable difference in thinking on the importance. In the search for the importance on the establishment procedure, the groups of architects, construction firms, researchers and professors & instructors thought listening to opinions of residents important and public officials considered review by the City Planning Council important. In the survey on characteristics of district units plans, the most respondents answered 'plans leaded by private sectors focusing on residents' and 'plans to practice for actualization of urban plans'. Public officials and researchers answered that district units plans should be practical plans for actualization of urban plans with strong characteristics of work. The groups of architects, construction firms and professors/instructors mostly thought that private sector leaded plans focusing on residents as characteristics of district units plans. It was understood that construction firms think that the parts related to conditions for construction across overall standards of establishment, procedure of establishment are important. The specialists who think that the plans should be private sector leaded plans focusing on residents on which the residents' opinions are reflected were the groups of architects and professors/instructors.

The purpose of this study was to determine the incomplete aspects of the government pilot project 'Livable City Making' Also, the study was conducted to consider a plan that residents will satisfy for the realization of the project. The study used a case study and a survey method in research process. For the case study, two projects in Busan that have similar planning were chosen. The contents of the survey included the residents' interest in their housing area, their recognition and opinions of the pilot project, their satisfaction about the environmental alterations, and their thought about conditions of sustainable housing. The main results of this study were as follows. First, the residents were satisfied with the alteration of the street space and the provision of green and open spaces. Meanwhile they revealed that the preservation of the natural environment and the vitalization of community are insufficient. Second, they also believed that the construction of the pedestrian streets, the provision of parking lots, and the remodeling of the deteriorated buildings are incomplete. Third, the residents believed that the following provisions need to be made for successful sustainable housing waste discharge needs to be minimized, facilities need to be used for saving energy, opportunities for employment need to be provided within their housing areas, and safe street spaces and comfortable traffic systems need to be provided.

본 연구의 목적은 지역의 랜드마크 인지요인이 관광만족에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지, 그리고 지역 랜드마크 인지요인과 관광만족의 영향관계에서 지역주민과 관광객의 인식의 차이로 인해 그 영향관계가 어떻게 달라지는지를 확인하고 그 시사점을 제시하는 것이다. 연구를 위하여 광주광역시의 관광지를 찾은 관광객과 지역주민을 대상으로 2019년 9월 1일부터 10월 6일까지 36일간 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 389부를 회수하여 분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 랜드마크 인지요인은 상징성과 역사성으로 관광만족은 단일요인으로 구분되었다. 랜드마크 인지요인은 관광만족에 유의한 영향을 미쳤으며 지역주민과 관광객에 따라 그 영향관계에는 차이가 발생하였다. 그러므로 랜드마크를 통한 관광 상품을 개발하고자 할 때, 지나치게 지역주민의 의견을 반영하게 되면 오히려 관광객들이 외면하는 결과가 있을 수 있으므로 다양한 의견을 적절히 반영하는 것이 중요할 것이다.

The purpose of this study was to suggest the improvement plan for IAQ of the combined officetel and residence through analyzing demands, satisfaction, subjective symptoms and device of residents. For this study, the data was collected from 110 residents by questionnaire survey and an experienced planner by interview. The result showed that the IAQ improvement of the combined officetel and residence was urgent. The educational program about maintenance of IAQ for residents was essentially needed. To recommend eco-friendly materials in process of construction wasimportant so as to take precaution against ‘sick building syndrome'. It was also necessary to improve on the size and shape of ventilation window.

The purpose of this study is to investigate residents'opinions about Habitat Housing. It is also aimed to influence the future directions of Habitat Housing, by understanding the contents of residents'satisfaction and need of houses and surroundings. Direct interview and questionary methods were used for the survey of residents in housing complexes - 24 households in Kwang-yang and 47 households in Asan. SPSS 10.0 program was used for a statistical analysis. Residents are generally satisfied with the surroundings of housing sites, and with the interior spaces of houses. However, dissatisfactions were surveyed of community facilities, site planning, outdoor space, maintenance system, and veranda design of housing units. This result might be helpful to provide planning and design guidelines for the future Habitat Housing.

Recently, the public design plays a role in improving the residents' quality of life and activating the local economy as an axis of the regional development. However, during the development process led by the local government, the public space has been changed to a place where only the function is emphasized without considering the local history, culture, and life. Since the opinions of the regional residents are not reflected, the public place lacks public benefits and has difficulties in continuous improvement and development. Here, we studied on the participation of residents in public design. Firstly, we discussed public design that residents can participate voluntarily and actively as users, managers, and beneficiaries. Secondly, it is necessary for the residents, who are not experts in the public design, to have easily understandable and well tractable communication media which facilitate communications with a group of the design experts and the public service personnel. We explained the types and specialities of the communication media. Thirdly, it is necessary for the residents to contribute much to the local development by active participation in the sustainable and consistent public design through using the easily accessible communication media.
