Elderly care services are health, mental health, social health, and residential services provided to temporarily or chronically disabled older persons over an extended period of time with a goal of enabling them to function as independently as possible. And elderly care facilities such as nursing homes are places in which elderly care services have to be delivered effectively. It is, therefore, desirable to compose the space of elderly care facilities to meet the mental and physical abilities of frail elder people. This study has proposed the hierarchical space organization of elderly care facilities with an aim to fulfill the goals of them. Frail older people in hierarchically designed homes are anticipated to use the inner and outer spaces of care facilities as independently as possible in accordance with their physical and mental abilities.

Fiber optic facilities are increasingly being deployed in loop applications for both busines and residential areas. These facilities support a variety of communications services that include high speed data and video using leading technologies such as Synchronous Optical Network (SONET), Wavelength Division Multiplexing(WDM). This proliferation of fiber optic facilities combined with the increasing pressure on network operators to reduce costs are fostering increased automation to reduce labor costs associated with providing and maintaining communications services. Effective fiber management and accurate records can improve the reliability and integrity of the future telecommunications networks and the quality of customer services. This paper describes the trend forward and the need for the deployment of Fiber Administration System (FAS) into the operations enviroment of a typical network provider.

With the increase of elderly people, educators have begun designing experiences to prepare students to work with elderly group. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the knowledge and attitude of students majoring in food and nutrition for the elderly and their intentions to provide services for the elderly. The knowledge level of the students was in a medium range, and no relationship was found between knowledge and attitudes using Pearson correlation. The knowledge did not significantly differ across gender and academic level when compared using t-test and ANOVA, but knowledge level was significantly different based on residential experiences with elderly over 65 years of age (p < 0.05). Students had neutral attitudes toward working with elderly employees and working for elderly. Students had positive intentions to work with elderly employees, seek employment in an organization for elderly clients/customers, and seek opportunities for positive social interaction with the elderly. However, students do not have positive work preference with elderly employees. As a result of multiple regression analysis, it was found that knowledge was not a predictor of intentions to provide services to the elderly. However, attitudes toward working with elderly employees, attitudes toward elderly, residential experiences with elderly > 65 years have been predicted the intentions to work with elderly employees. Attitudes working with elderly employees and attitudes toward elderly influenced the intentions to work in the organizations to provide services to elderly. This study can be identified the need for additional didactic preparation and experiences to prepare students to work with elder aging population.

Objectives: We used the 2019 Korea Health Panel Annual Data to analyze factors related to visits to Korean medicine (KM) outpatient clinics among patients with mood disorders in Korea. Methods: Individuals aged 19 years or older, with depressive or bipolar disorders, and with a record of using Western medicine (WM) and/or the KM medical service were included. The 266 subjects were classified into the WM group or the integrative medicine (IM) group. The Andersen healthcare utilization model was used to analyze factors that potentially influenced the subjects' healthcare utilization. Binomial logistic regression analysis was used to analyze factors influencing the use of IM medical services. Results: Among the subjects, 75.56% (n=201) were in the WM group, and 24.44% (n=65) were in the IM group. Statistically significant differences were observed in residential areas, total annual income, the presence of disability, and the level of pain/discomfort between the two groups. Regression analysis found that residential areas and pain/discomfort were factors related to the use of IM services. Specifically, reporting "a lot" of pain/discomfort compared to "no" pain/discomfort showed a significant positive relationship with the use of IM (odds ratio=4.57, 95% confidence interval=1.79 to 11.70). Conclusions: This study was the first to analyze the status of KM medical service use and related factors among patients with mood disorders in Korea. The finding that the presence of pain/discomfort was positively correlated with the use of KM services is potentially related to medically unexplained physical symptoms or somatization phenomena.

Recently, by applying the 4th industrial revolution technologies such as A.I., IoT, and big data to general residential infrastructure, various application services of residential-based are provided to residents through linkage and utilization between technologies. Accordingly, smart housing system is increasing as advanced living spaces that can improve the quality of life and convenience of residents. Such a smart housing is expected to be an item that can create new demands and markets in the construction industry since it provides a new paradigm that combines construction technology and IT by combining IT technology with existing construction industry. Based on this, it is expected that it will be possible to gradually develop large-scale markets such as smart buildings and smart cities. In this paper, therefore, we propose an artificial intelligence multiplex smart housing system as an intelligent platform that can autonomously manage and control the size of places and spaces, used for various purposes based on smart housing technology by using artificial intelligence systems.

The purposes of this study were to identify the needs for ubiquitous home services in residential environment of elderly single or elderly couple households living without children and also to analyze the differences of the needs according to their demographic and housing characteristics. For this study, a literature review and field works on ubiquitous home services for older people were performed. Also, 1 to 1 interview by using the questionnaire which was developed by the researchers in this study was conducted and 270 elderly residents in Seoul and Gyeonggi-Do were responded. Seventy-one ubiquitous service items which were adopted to home electronic appliances and furniture for older people were developed for 1 to 1 interview questionnaire. The major findings of the study were as follows: the elderly residents expressed highest need for ubiquitous home service items related to safety and health issues. Among ubiquitous service items applied to gas stove, vacuum cleaner, TV, telephone, sofa and toilet, the items related to safety and health aspects were most needed. And residents' income level and health status were the two major variables to show group differences in the need of ubiquitous home services. In other words, the elderly residents who were high income and frail tended to have the highest demand for ubiquitous home services adopted to home electronic appliances and furniture.

본 연구는 우리나라 지역대표도서관의 서비스 방향을 고려하기 위해 미국의 주 도서관의 서비스 내용을 분석하였다. 통계자료와 주 도서관 웹 페이지를 통하여 데이터를 수집하였다. 분석 결과 미국 주 도서관은 주마다. 차이가 많이 있지만 핵심 기능은 지역 도서관에 대해 예산, 서비스, 교육 등을 지원하는 것이었다. 지역주민에 대한 직접적인 서비스는 지역의 공공도서관에 비해 그 규모는 작지만 주 단위의 역사 및 정보를 수집 및 제공하며, 동시에 장애인을 위한 서비스를 담당하고 있었다. 이와 같은 미국 사례를 비추어볼 때, 우리나라 지역대표도서관은 지역의 공공도서관을 지원하며 공공도서관과 차별화된 서비스를 제공하여야 한다. 또한 지역대표도서관은 각 지역 특성에 맞는 형태로 운영되어야 한다.

청소년기의 학업수행은 전 생애적 발달과업의 한 부분으로서 중요하나, 시설보호아동에게 학업성취가 우수할 것이라는 기대는 거의 하지 않는다. 본 연구의 목적은 소수에 불과하지만 시설보호아동 중에도 학업수행에 특출한 이들이 있음을 발견하고, 이들의 특성과 경험을 심층적으로 이해하여 시설보호아동의 학업수행 지원을 위한 실천 방향을 모색하는 데에 있다. 이와 같은 연구목적을 달성하고자 아동양육시설에 거주하는 8명의 시설보호아동에 대해 심층면접을 수행하고 장기간에 걸쳐 다각적으로 자료를 수집하였다. 질적 사례연구 방법으로 접근하여 수집한 자료를 분석하였으며, 그 결과 총 21개의 하위범주와 5개의 상위범주를 도출하였다. 학업성취 우수 시설보호아동의 사례를 총체적으로 드러내는 상위범주로는 '빠르지 않아도 걸음마다 충실함', '한계와 마주해도 스스로를 믿음', '많은 지원과 높은 기대 속에서 갈등함', '밀쳐내기도 하지만 마음 다해 기댐', '퇴소의 불안함을 공부로 채워감'이 드러났다. 결론적으로, 각각의 학업성취 우수 시설보호아동의 사례를 관통하여 '편견을 희망으로 바꾸며 달려감' 이라는 중심주제의 특성을 발견하였다. 끝으로, 본 연구결과를 근거로 시설보호아동의 복지 향상을 위해 학습지원서비스 개발 및 제공 시에 고려해야 할 방향을 제언하였다.

본 연구는 경남지역 손상환자의 타 지역 의료이용과 관련된 요인을 규명하여 의료의 접근성을 높이기 위한 기초자료를 제시하고자 하였다. 질병관리본부의 2008년 퇴원손상환자조사 8,225건의 자료 뿐 아니라, 인구센서스 및 보건의료자원 실태조사자료를 이용하였으며, 분석방법은 빈도분석, 교차분석, 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 손상환자의 의료이용은 대도시 중심으로 집중화 현상이 뚜렷하였다. 둘째, 군지역의 손상환자 타 지역 이용률이 시 지역에 비해 높았다. 본 연구를 통하여 의료기관 및 병상수를 공급하는 일 뿐만 아니라 지방에서의 의료의 질적 수준을 올리는 정책과 의료의 접근성을 위해 군지역의 손상환자를 위한 대책이 요구된다.

우리나라에서도 최근 잦아진 가뭄으로 물 부족에 대한 경각심이 높아졌다. 특히, 2015년의 가뭄은 경제적으로 큰 피해를 야기하였고 적극적인 물 수요 관리의 필요성을 부각시킨 계기가 되었다. 경제학적 측면에서 수요관리 정책을 설계하기 위해 선행되어야 될 점 중 하나는 신뢰성 있는 가격탄력성의 추정이다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 기존 국내 선행연구들에 비해 강건한 생활용수 수요의 가격탄력성을 추정하고자 한다. 이를 위해 2010년도에서 2013년도까지 지방 상수도 공급지역 161개의 자료를 패널 분위수회귀모형을 사용해 추정하였고 이를 패널자료 회귀모형의 결과와 비교 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 생활용수 수요의 가격탄력성은 -0.156에서 -0.189 사이의 값을 갖는 것으로 추정되었다. 또한 본 연구에서는 조건부 평균 회귀를 사용하는 경우 왼쪽꼬리가 길고 오른쪽 분포가 두꺼운 우리나라 생활용수 수요량 분포의 특징으로 수요량이 많은 지역들의 성향이 추정결과에 상대적으로 크게 반영된다는 점을 확인하였다.
