To have a better understanding of the impact of the PETRONAS oil and gas platform on commercial fisheries activities, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) examined two approaches which are data collection from satellite and data collection from fishermen and anglers. By profiling the anglers who utilize reefed oil and gas structures for fishing, it can determine if the design and location of the reef platforms will benefit or negatively impacts those anglers and fisherman. Furthermore, this assessment will be contributing to the knowledge regarding the value of offshore oil and gas platforms as fisheries resources. Collectively, the apparent fishing activity data included, combined with the findings in the reefing viability index will help to inform PETRONAS's future decommissioning decisions and may help determine if the design and proposed locations for future rigs-to-reefs candidates would benefit commercial fishing groups, further qualifying them as appropriate artificial reef candidates. The method applied in this study is approaching by using a data satellite known as Google's Global Fishing Watch technology, which is one of the applications to measure commercial fishing efforts around the globe. The apparent commercial fishing effort around the selected twelve PETRONAS platforms was analyzed from January 2012 to December 2018. Using the data collection from fishermen which is the total estimation of commercial fish value cost (in Malaysia ringgit, MYR [RM]) in Peninsular Malaysia Asset, Sabah Asset, and Sarawak Operation region. The data were extracted every month from 2016 to 2018 from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration database. Most of the selected platforms that show a high frequency of vessels around the year are platform KP-A, platform BG-A and platform PL-B. The estimated values of commercial fishes varied between platforms, with ranged from RM 10,209.92 to RM 89,023.78. Thus, platforms with high commercial fish value are selected for reefing in-situ and will serve multi-purposes and benefit the locals as well as the country. The current study has successfully assessed the potential reefing area of the Malaysian offshore environment with greater representativeness and this paper focused on its potential as a new fishing ground.
The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of the sex education program on the elementary school students' sex-related knowledge and attitude. The research method used in this study is an equivalent control group pre-test and post-test and post-test design in a quasi-experimental research format. The subjects of this study were the 5th-grade elementary school students(63 in the experimental group and 60 in the control group) in O and O elementary school in G city. The data was collected from April 4th to July 3th, 2003. The experimental group received a sex education program while the control group did not receive any treatment. The purpose of this research was to determine barriers that prevent participation in an employee wellness program, Wellness Wednesdays: "Eat & Meet" About Healthy Living, conducted at East Carolina University (ECU) in Greenville, North Carolina. All ECU ARAMARK employees (n = 481) over the age of 18 were eligible to participate in the wellness program. Weekly 30 minute classes, taught by a Registered Dietitian, on various nutrition- and health-related topics were conducted for 10-weeks. Five question knowledge quizzes were administered to participants at the end of each class to determine the comprehension of material presented. Qualitative interviews (n = 19) were conducted with employees (participants and non-participants) and the program organizer after the completion of the 10-week program to identify barriers to program participation. A total of 50 (10.4% of the total number of potential participants) ECU ARAMARK employees, managers, and leadership team directors attended Wellness Wednesdays at least once during the 10-week program. Employees, on average, scored 71-100% on the weekly knowledge quizzes administered at the end of each class. The most common barriers to participation reported included (most often to least often reported): insufficient incentives, inconvenient locations, time limitations, not interested in topics presented, undefined reasons, schedule, marketing, health beliefs, and not interested in the program. Results showed that employee wellness programs can be effective in increasing knowledge of employees on nutrition- and health-related topics. However, program planning that addresses identified barriers including insufficient incentives, inconvenient locations, and time limitations may facilitate higher participation in future worksite wellness opportunities.
The purpose of this study was to verify the effectiveness of a life review-narrative group therapy program aimed at increasing ego-integrity in the elderly. The life review-narrative group therapy program was organized according to the tfe course from childhood to old age. The objectives of the program were for the elderly to enhance their self-worth, become aware of their individual self existence, accept aging and death, accept the past and present life, and to make the most of their experiences of overcoming difficulties. The counseling techniques used in the program were mainly reminiscence and re-authoring of the narrative therapy. Thirty-two elderly people aged 60 years and over (16 in each of experimental and control groups) were selected randomly from the Daegu Metropolitan City General Welfare Center for the research. The two groups were identified as equivalent for the study in a pre-test. The program of the experimental group was implemented twice a week for 90 minutes per session over a 6-week period (Sep. 8th - Oct. 14th. 2005). The pre (Sep. 8th 2005), the post (Oct. 14th. 2005) and follow-up (Nov. 14th. 2005) tests were implemented in ordo, to verify the effectiveness of the program. The instruments used in the study were the Ego-Integrity Scale. The data were analyzed using t-test, and Ore-Factor Repeated Measures ANOVA. The findings of the study were as follows. The experimental group evidenced significant effects on enhancing ego-integrity. The result of the post hoc multiple comparisons showed that the effects of the life review-narrative group therapy Program were maintained for one months. Meanwhile the control group did not show any significant change in ego-integrity. Based on these findings, the limitations of the study were discussed, and further research was suggested.
The object of this study is to inspect how much influence the play-based assertive training program has on the self-expression and learning attitude of elementary students. To perform this study, I set up two subjects of research. First, does the play-based assertive training program have influence on the self-expression improvement of elementary students? Second, does the play-based assertive training program have influence on the attitude of elementary students? I established 28 students in the third grade of K elementary school in Gongju City as experiment group for this research. In experiment group, 1 peformed play-based assertive training program in the class of discretion and extra-curricula activity twice a week and maintained the program for 6 weeks. By the standard of 12 times of performances, I put pre-test and post-test into operation. The major consequences revealed through above processes are followed: First, as the consequence of analyses of differences between pre-test and post-test about self-expression of experiment group adapted by play-using assertion training program, the level of self-expression was advanced meaningfully. Second, as the consequences of analyses of differences between pre-test and post-test about learning-attitude of experiment group adapted by play-based assertive training program, the level of learning-attitude was advanced meaningfully. Among 8 sub-fields of learning attitude, the field of superiority, accomplishment motives, concentration, self-study show statistically meaningful difference s respectively. The conclusion drawn from above consequences is that the play-based assertive training program is very effective in developing students' self-expression and attitude for learning.
The convergence progress in science technology and ensuing changes in educational environments require another huge change in education programs in the 21st century defined as a knowledge-based information society. But nowadays, prospective college students are increasingly avoiding natural science and engineering. So, educational fields in korea need suitable convergence educational programs (STEAM: science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics) for creative competent person who is training and experiencing. In addition, environmental design fields are predicting about spread of Kinetic architecture. Therefore the aim of this study is developing convergence hand-on educational program which is incorporate robot science into environmental design for children. The program and teaching materials were developed by mapping between robot science and environmental design process leading the Design Promote Committee in KIID(Korea Institute of Interior Design) supported research teams in Hansung University. And then, For utility of the program, we had a 3 times of demonstration of empirical education. First, graduate students of design and robot major, and small group of children who are selected, at last, 63 children who are applying the program randomly. For more high quality program, we were conducting survey of post-empirical education evaluation for children and their parents. In conclusion, we found out highly satisfaction of the program those two groups. Also they need more organized places, time, task and so on. And the convergence educational program would develop by systematic approach and empirical research. At last, various and series convergence programs and teaching materials would develop creative competency based for regular and irregular courses of whole educational period.
The objective of this study was to discover the effects of the short-term home visiting physical therapy program involving patients with some chronic brain disorders at Gimhae City, Kyongnam. Recovery of activities of daily living (ADL) is a very important factor of rehabilitative procedures, and Functional Independence Measure (FIM) is a useful standard of evaluation for it. The FIM is widely used in brain disorder research because it measures real functional activities of daily living. We applied the physical therapy exercise program twice per week (10~15 times repeatedly); a warm-up and cool down exercise performed every ten minutes by active & active-assistive ROM and stretching exercises. Main exercises were composed of getting up & laying down in bed, standing training, walking exercise in the room, and window or wall sliding exercise using affected upper limbs for a total duration of 30 minutes. We collected the data from 20 patients with chronic brain disorders at his/her home and analyzed by means of SPSS/PC+ program (Ver. 10.0). After the six week long physical therapy exercise program, the average was $56.10{\pm}22.59$ point compared with initial $50.55{\pm}19.12$ point by FIM, improved functional ADL ability about 5.55 point, and these changed scores were statistically significant (p=.000). We also studied another factor regarding patient's satisfaction. The majority of subjects (10 people) rated the program with the maximum score of ten points (50.0%), and three people rated it a seven point program (15.0%), the other two subjects gave a rating of nine and eight points (10.0%). Because the program was effective at improving the physical ADL ability and satisfaction of each subject, we suggest continual development and implementation of a home visiting physical therapy program. Further study should involve a longer period of observation with a larger population that is involved in an individually designed home physical therapy program.
