  • Recently, interest in detoxification therapies is increasing. Coffee enema has been most frequently used as one of detoxification therapies. However, there is lack of scientific basis for coffee enema, regarding its clinical efficacy and safety respectively. This study aimed to produce the general features of coffee enema such as definition, protocols, clinical applications and efficacies, and side effects. Total 37 articles coffee enema were collected from 7 databases including PubMed, and reviewed thoroughly. The majority of papers were review studies or case reports for effects/side-effects of coffee enema. The quality of papers was generally poor, and no randomized controlled clinical trial (RCT) was exist. This study shows the current status of coffee enema-related study, and suggests the demand for RCT study to develop the evidence-based detoxification therapy using coffee enema.

  • We investigated how bibliometric indicators such as publication count and citation count affect the assessment of research performance by computing various bibliometric scores of the works of Korean LIS faculty members and comparing the rankings by those scores. For the study data, we used the publication and citation data of 159 tenure-track faculty members of Library and Information Science departments in 34 Korean universities. The study results showed correlation between publication count and citation count for authors with many publications but the opposite evidence for authors with few publications. The study results suggest that as authors publish more and more work, citations to their work tend to increase along with publication count. However, for junior faculty members who have not yet accumulated enough publications, citations to their work are of great importance in assessing their research performance. The study data also showed that there are marked differences in the magnitude of citations between papers published in Korean journals and papers published in international journals.

  • Objectives: The study's purpose was to analyze the research trends and future directions of dental hygiene papers. Methods: In order to search for papers for this study, a survey was conducted using the Korean Journal of Health Service Management publications listed on The Korean Society of Health Service Management's website. Results: A total of 76 articles were published in the dental hygiene study. Its main trend was having oral health problems with 32 episodes. The most common word used in the Journal of Health Industry for the past 12 years is "health". Conclusions: Considering the results of the analysis of the Korean Journal of Health Service Management, the development of convergence research in health care and dental hygiene should be explored.

  • In this study, a total of 2,584 domestic research papers with the keywords "Aviation Safety" and "Aviation Accidents" were subjected to Text Mining analysis. Various text mining techniques, including keyword frequency analysis, word correlation analysis, network analysis, and topic modeling, were applied to examine the research trends in the field of aviation safety. The results revealed a significant increase in research using the keyword "Aviation Safety" since 2015, with over 300 papers published annually. Through keyword frequency analysis, it was observed that "Aircraft" was the most frequently mentioned term, followed by "Drones" and "Unmanned Aircraft." Phi coefficients were calculated for words closely related to "Aircraft," "Aviation," "Drones," and "Safety." Furthermore, topic modeling was employed to identify 12 distinct topics in the field of aviation safety and aviation accidents, allowing for an in-depth exploration of research trends.

  • International trade theory is largely divided into the pure theory of international trade and the theory of trade policy. The pure theory of international trade is an academic field that conducts research related to the trade flow of goods and services between countries and the movement of production factors across borders. Meanwhile, the theory of trade policy studies the positive and normative aspects of trade policy which a government adopts to achieve its policy goals. In this study, about 230 papers in the field of international trade theory published in the Korea Trade Review over the past 45 years (1975~2019) are examined in meta analysis by period and subject. First, this study provides the main research subjects of international trade theory, and historically reviews the overall development of trade theory by paying attention to the core and pioneering papers, domestic and foreign. Second, the publications in the field of trade theory are classified by subject, and the domestic and foreign research trends are also examined for each subject with the analysis of major publication of this Journal.

  • The Journal of Astronomy and Space Sciences (JASS) has published research papers on a range of topics since its initial publication in 1984, giving space science researchers a platform. In this paper, we reviewed recent publications (2019-2023) that deal with the space environment. In the space environment field, we reviewed 37 papers published in JASS during this time, covering research topics such as the sun, magnetosphere, ionosphere, atmosphere, and space radiation. We hope that researchers in the field will make use of this in the future as it will allow us to share the most recent trends in the field of space environment research that is currently underway.

  • Tuberculosis is one of the leading causes of mortality and morbidity worldwide. In 2010, there were 8.8 million (range, 8.5~9.2 million) incident cases of TB, 1.1 million deaths from TB among HIV-negative people and an additional 0.35 million deaths from HIV-associated TB. Due to such health-related importance, tuberculosis is one of areas being actively researched. Many numbers of tuberculosis-related papers are being presented each year, and in this review, it summarizes contents of a few papers that had been selected among the papers presented from 2009 to early 2011.

  • Objective: This study aimed to get information on the current status of therapies to date for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), including non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Methods: All randomized clinical controlled trial (RCT)-derived papers for NAFLD or NASH were reviewed via PubMed Database. Results: 39 RCTs met the review criteria, of which 15 and 24 papers were for NAFLD and NASH, respectively. 83% of the papers were released since 2006, and 30 studies were conducted for western medicines, antioxidants and lifestyle intervention whereas nine trials were done using herbal medicine or acupuncture which showed positive outcome. Conclusions: NAFLD and NASH are new epidemic disorders which can be a target of traditional Oriental medicine. This study will be helpful for the Oriental medicine-based strategies or therapeutic development for them.

  • Usually, students write on a paper using writing materials and submit it to teachers when they do a homework or take an exam. However, there are temporal and spacial constraints because teachers and students should be in the same place at the time in this system. In addition, it is hard for teachers to maintain numerous papers from students. Applying a digital pen produced by Pen Generations Corporation to education system, we developed a smart education system transmitting image data from written papers using digital pen. As a result, teachers and students can use this system without any constraints. In addition, teachers are able to maintain their papers from students more effectively.

  • Objectives : This study aims to evaluate the current status of clinical use of diagnostic equipment in oriental neuropsychiatry. Methods : Thirty clinical studies using diagnostic equipment out of 223 papers in the journal of oriental neuropsychiatry in the 10 years from 2003 to 2012 were reviewed. Results : Ten diagnostic apparatuses were used in 30 papers. HRV (Heart Rate Variability) was used the most, but the results of papers were not consistent. ADS (ADHD Diagnostic System) and ERP (Event Related Potential) were effective in clinical research. Conclusions : Diagnostic equipment might be useful and effective to treat mental disorders if they are to be used properly and followed by well-designed studies.
