This paper introduces radio frequency identification(RFID) information technologies for item management such as application interface of data protocol, data encoding rules and logical memory functions for data protocol, and, unique identification for RF tags. This study presents reference architecture and definition of parameters to be standardized, various parameters for air intreface communications, and, application requirements profiles.

In many countries safety management on track worker have been carried out alter serious accidents and drastic safety improvement have been achieved as a result of safety management. In order to improve track worker safety in Korea, recent 5-year accident data were analysed and other countries' safety management systems were reviewed. As an result of this study 5-basic requirements for the safety improvement on track worker are derived: education, certification, clear responsibility definition, work planning and upgrade of train warning system.

The Engine Room Resource Management System will be applied to ocean going ships according to the revision of 2010 STCW convention. This paper aims to study the practical procedures for establishing Engine Room Resource Management System in connection with the eight quality management principles of ISO 9001 and Korean law. For the purpose of this study. the definition and the necessity of Engine Room Resource Management System and customer, product, customer requirements in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 9001 are reviewed and discussed.

This paper presents requirements for workflow management systems supporting CITIS. We propose an architecture of global workflow management system which aims at supporting external workflow among different organizations rather than internal one. The architecture consists of five key elements, that is process definition language, process graphic design tool, control engine, status monitoring tool, and interface models. For each of these elements, implementation requirements are presented and its major functions are described. A key concept to the CITIS standard is the integration of disparate systems in distributed environment. This leads us to place a special emphasis on the interface models that can enhance the interoperability between externally participating workflow systems. Two interface models for the global workflow management system are explained. CORBA, the most widely accepted standard for distributed object management, can be adopted to facilitate the integration. World Wide Web can be used for the underlying platform on which information is exchanged and the status of processes instances is monitored. The workflow management system can provide a ready and easy access to and management of the data for CALS environments.

An OLAP system is the decision support tool with which a user can analyze the information interactively in the various aspects. However, the traditional existing construction of an OLAP system has the inefficiency problem of increasing the time and cost caused by the frequent changes of the users requirements. In this paper, we analyse existing construction procedure of OLAP systems and propose a prototyping OLAP View based on the star schema which can help and guide the designer In supporting efficiently of users requirements. Through an implementation of S shopping mall using the OLAP View, we show that our proposal is able to support OLAP construction strategy and provide accurate understanding of data resources. With an OLAP View, we can reduce the required time and cost of implementing OLAP system.

In this paper, we investigate the scheduling algorithm of router system for Internet service based on the qualify-of-service (QoS) level of the input source traffics. We suggest an approprite scheduling algorithm in order to satisfy their QoS requirements for the loss-sensitive traffic and delay-sensitive traffic. For this purpose, we first study the service requirements of the multiplexer in Internet and the definition of QoS based on the ITU-T white recommendations. Second. we suggest a functional architecture of the multiplexer and the scheduling algorithm to satisfy various QoS requirements for Internet service. Finally. the performance measures of interest, namely steady-state packet loss probability and average delay, are discussed by simulation results.

Airborne SAR system is the imaging Radar system that is loaded on a manned or unmanned aircraft, which is in charge of high quality image acquisition and moving target detection. This paper describes the operational requirements for the Airborne SAR system and suggests the operational concept to satisfy the requirements. To be specific, it describes the interface with airborne system, state definition and transition, operation mode based on mission definition file, fault management, and data storing and transmission concept. Finally, it gives the ground test results to verify the SAR system operational concept.

Two distinct features required in transport service and protocol to meet new multimedia applications requirements are multicast transmission capability and enhanced QoS facility. In this paper, we presents major functions and facilities of enhanced communications transport service definition supporting these requirements. At first, major fundamental issues, that should be handled to design multi-peer communcation service and protocol, are resoved and applied to design service definition. Secondly, we proposed several new functions for enhanced transport service such as heterogeneous TC establishment, invitation capability, TC-ownership transfer, restriction of transmit concurrency. The detils of proposed enhanced transport service are TC creation, TC invitation, TC join, multicase data transfer, pause of data transfer, resulme of data transfer, report of specific status, TC leave, TC termination, TC-ownership transfer, Token transfer services. The proposed transport service was submitted and accepted as a draft text for committee draft of international standard by the international standradization body such as JTC1/SC6 and ITU-T SG 7.

A wavelet transform coding method that fulfills the requirements of HD-VCR(high definition video casstte recorder) for studio applications in proposed. A constant bit rate is achieved by a forward rate control technique whcih determins the quantizer stepsize based on the coding results fo the previous frame. We also propose a two-level coder that consists of both the IDC(independently decodable code) and the DDC(dependently decodable code). To minimize error propagation, the transformed coefficients are restructured into transform blocks which are represented by a tree structure. The result shows thta the proposed coding scheme produces better picture quality with block effects than that of DCT(discrete cosine transform) based coding schemes at the same compression ratio. The proposed method meets most of the requirements of HD-VCR.

The disabled and elderly people have a wide variety of functional impairments. By disability and elderly user group definition, identification of users needs and specification of content requirements were studied. Existing technologies including location, navigation and information exchange devise and communication systems were analyzed to design proper integrated system for indoor and outdoor uses. There are two types of services considered in the project: assisted living services(ALS) including health and emergency needs and assisted mobility services(AMS) with transportation needs. To develop each content, content identification and requirements was studied through interviews and expert consultations. System requirements and specification using usecase technique for disabled and elderly people are discussed.
