  • Multivariate simulation is necessary for cases where non-Gaussian processes at spatially distributed locations are desired. A simulation algorithm to generate non-Gaussian wind pressure fields is proposed. Gaussian sample fields are generated based on the spectral representation method using wavelet transforms method and then mapped into non-Gaussian sample fields with the aid of a CDF mapping transformation technique. To illustrate the procedure, this approach is applied to experimental results obtained from wind tunnel tests on the domes. A multivariate Gaussian simulation technique is developed and then extended to multivariate non-Gaussian simulation using the CDF mapping technique. It is proposed to develop a new wavelet-based CDF mapping technique for simulation of multivariate non-Gaussian wind pressure process. The efficiency of the proposed methodology for the non-Gaussian nature of pressure fluctuations on separated flow regions of different rise-span ratios of domes is also discussed.

  • In the design and operation of robot arms with flexible links, the equations of motion are required to exactly model the interaction between rigid motion and elastic motion and to be formulated efficiently. Thus, the flexible link is represented on the basis of the D-H rigid link representation to measure the elastic deformation. The equations of motion of robot arms, which are configured by the generalized coordinates of elastic and rigid degrees of freedom, are formulated by using F.E.M. to model complex shaped links systematically and by eliminating elastic mode of higher order that does not largely affect motion to reduce the number of elastic degree of freedom. Finally, presented is the result of simulation to flexible robotic arm whose joints are controlled by direct or PD control,

  • Clothes and human body are inseparably related. Aesthetic consciousness of the body determines the form of clothing, reflecting the time and culture as well as the individual and society. Clothes can even reorganize the meaning of the body, while transcending their instrumental functions of concealing, revealing, and deforming the body. Using bodyt o analyze the clothing form, my study develops a framework by which to classify the absence of physicality in fashion focusing on the deformation of the body parts. The absence of physicality denotes the break away from the idealized and standardized body for mass productions. It tends to experiment with extreme exaggeration in form refusing to subscribe to the traditional values that build on the balance and symmetry of the body, which opposes the sartorial convention and symbolism that results in the discord between signifiant and signifi? f clothing.

  • Anomaly detection in human movements can improve safety in indoor workplaces. In this paper, we design a framework for detecting anomalous trajectories of humans in indoor spaces based on a variational autoencoder (VAE) with Bi-LSTM layers. First, the VAE is trained to capture the latent representation of normal trajectories. Then the abnormality of a new trajectory is checked using the trained VAE. In this step, the anomaly score of the trajectory is determined using the trajectory reconstruction error through the VAE. If the anomaly score exceeds a threshold, the trajectory is detected as an anomaly. To select the anomaly threshold, a new metric called D-score is proposed, which measures the difference between recall and precision. The anomaly threshold is selected according to the minimum value of the D-score on the validation set. The MIT Badge dataset, which is a real trajectory dataset of workers in indoor space, is used to evaluate the proposed framework. The experiment results show that our framework effectively identifies abnormal trajectories with 81.22% in terms of the F1-score.

  • This study deals with the application of knowledge-based engineering and a methodology for the assessment & measurement of reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety of industrial systems using fault-tree representation. A fuzzy methodology for fault-tree evaluation seems to be an alternative solution to overcome the drawbacks of the conventional approach. To improve the quality of results, the membership functions must be approximated based on heuristic considerations. Conventionally, it is not always easy to obtain a system reliability for components with different individual failure probability density functions(p.d.f.), We utilize fuzzy set theory to solve the adequacy of the conventional probability in accounting and processing of built-in uncertainties in the probabilistic data. The purpose of this study is to propose the framework of knowledge-based engineering through integrating the various sources of knowledge involved in a FTA.

  • The details of the electronic structure of the perfect crystal provides a critically important foundation for understanding the various defect states in uranium dioxide. In order to understand the local defect and impurity mechanism, the calculation of electronic structure of UO$_2$ in the one-electron approximation was carried out, using a semi-empirical tight-binding formalism(LCAO) with and without f-orbitals. The energy band, local and total density of states for both spin states are calculated from the spectral representation of Green’s function. The bonding mechanism in Perfect lattice of UO$_2$ is discussed based upon the calculations of band structure, local and total density of states.

  • The objective of this paper is to predict and evaluate the sealing performance of the thermoplastic rubber component in the proto-design stage. The large strain and large deformation properties of rubber are modeled by strain energy function and the related material constants are calculated from the test data. The viscoelastic property of the rubber is also considered using the coefficients in a Prony series representation of a viscoelastic modulus ken the compression stress relaxation test. The results show that the current design of cap mount system has 2-different stiffness caused by the cap-mount contact and the viscoelastic property of rubber plays an important role in time dependent deformation.

  • The subclasses S*($\alpha,\beta,\mu$) and C*($\alpha,\beta,\mu$) ($0\leqq\alpha<1,\;0<\beta\leqq1$ and $0\leqq\mu\leqq1$) of T the class of analytic and univalent functions of the form $$f(z)=z-\sum\limit^{\infty}_{n=2}\mid a_n\mid z^n$$ have been considered. Sharp results concerning coefficients, distortion of functions belonging to S*($\alpha,\beta,\mu$) and C*($\alpha,\beta,\mu$) are determined along with a representation formula for the functions in S*($\alpha,\beta,\mu$). Furthermore, it is shown that the classes S*($\alpha,\beta,\mu$) and C*($\alpha,\beta,\mu$) are closed under arithmetic mean and convex linear combinations. Also in this paper, we find extreme points and support points for these classes.

  • Flammulina velutipes is a popular edible basidiomycete mushroom found in East Asia and is commonly known as winter mushroom. Mushroom development showing dramatic morphological changes by different environmental factors is scientifically and commercially interesting. To create a genetic database and isolate genes regulated during mushroom development, cDNA libraries were constructed from three developmental stages of mycelium, primordium, and fruit body in F. velutipes. We generated a total of 5,431 expressed sequence tags (ESTs) from randomly selected clones from the three cDNA libraries. Of these, 3,332 different unique genes (unigenes) were consistent with 2,442 (73%) singlets and 890 (27%) contigs. This corresponds to a redundancy of 39%. Using a homology search in the gene ontology database, the EST unigenes were classified into the three categories of molecular function (28%), biological process (29%), and cellular component (6%). Comparative analysis found great variations in the unigene expression pattern among the three different unigene sets generated from the cDNA libraries of mycelium, primordium, and fruit body. The 19-34% of total unigenes were unique to each unigene set and only 3% were shared among all three unigene sets. The unique and common representation in F. velutipes unigenes from the three different cDNA libraries suggests great differential gene expression profiles during the different developmental stages of F. velutipes mushroom.

  • This paper surveys recent remarkable progress in the study of potential theory for symmetric stable processes. It also contains new results on the two-sided estimates for Green functions Poisson kernels and Martin kernels of discontinuous symmetric $alpha$ -stable process in bounded $C^{1,1}$ open sets. The new results give ex-plicit information on how the comparing constants depend on pa-rametrer $alpha$ and consequently recover the green function and Poisson kernel estimates for Brownian motion by passing $alpha{\uparrow}2$. In addition to these new estimates this paper surveys recent progress in the study of notions of harmonicity integral representation of harmonic func-tions boundary harnack inequality conditional gauge and intrinsic ultracontractivity for symmetric stable processes. Here is a table of contents.
