Self-growing software is a software system that has the capability of evolving its functionalities and configurations by itself based on dynamically monitored situations. Self-growing software is especially necessary for intelligent service robots, which must have the capability to monitor their surrounding environments and provide appropriate behaviors for human users. However, it is hard to anticipate all situations that robots face with, and it is hard to make robots have all functionalities for various environments. In addition, robots have limited internal capacity. To support self-growing software for intelligent service robots, we are developing a cell-based distributed repository system that allows robots and developers transparently to share robot functionalities. To accomplish the creation of evolutionary repositories, we invented the concept of a cell, which is a logical group of distributed repositories based upon the functionalities of components. In addition, a cell can be used as a unit for the evolutionary growth of the components within the repositories. In this paper, we describe the requirements and architecture of the cell-based repository system for self-growing software. We also present a prototype implementation and experiment of the repository system. Through the cell-based repositories, we achieve improved performance of self-growing actions for robots and efficient sharing of components among robots and developers.
The purpose of this thesis is to contribute to the activation of e-contract service for one stop e-trade by analyzing the problems and its solutions in e-contract service at home and abroad. In order to achieve the purpose of this thesis, case studies are done on e-contract service providers such as CECTRUST service of NTT DATA in Japan and HanCM.com of Haansoft in Korea and user companies such as Taisei Corporation using CECTRUST service and Hyundai Card using HanCM.com. The problems in the e-contract service are the lack of e-contract service providers, rare publicity of e-contract service, limited use of e-contract service at only home, higher pricing for e-contract service, short time management of e-contract documents by service providers, no application of newly developed security technology to e-contract service, unsatisfaction of requirements of e-contract service provider as trusted third party, absence of lower pricing e-contract service by service provider, authorizing key error in electronic signature under recognized authentication system in case of fail in renewal of digital certificate and reproduction of digital certificate. The solutions of these problems are the upbringing of e-contract service providers, broad publicity of e-contract service, development of e-contract service on a global basis, establishment of lower pricing for e-contract service, long time management of e-contract documents by service providers, application of newly developed security technology such as bio technology to e-contract service, satisfaction of requirements of e-contract service provider as trusted third party by designation of recognized e-document repository, development of lower e-contract service by way of application service provider(ASP), introduction of time stamping of e-contract document and signature key value. The limitation of this thesis is that the problems and its solutions could not meet with the broad recognition as they are conferred by intuition because of few e-contract service provider.

Radioactive waste container designs should comply with the requirements for safety (i.e., transportation, storage, disposal) and other criteria such as economics and technology. These criteria are also applicable to the future management of the large amount of LLW and VLLW to arise from decontamination and decommissioning (D&D) of nuclear power plants, which have different features compared to that of wastes from operation and maintenance (O&M). This paper proposes to develop a set of standard containers of multi-purpose usage for transportation, storage and disposal. The concepts of the containers were optimized for management of D&D wastes in consideration of national system for radioactive waste management, in particular the Gyeongju Repository and associated infrastructures. A set of prototype containers were designed and built : a soft bag for VLLW, two metallic containers for VLLW/LLW (a standard IP2 container for sea transport and ISO container for road transport). Safety analyses by simulation and tests of these designs show they are in compliance with the regulatory requirements. A further development of a container with concrete is foreseen for 2016.
Most of electronic medical record systems which have been built in Korean hospitals are based on source oriented medical record approach. These systems hardly satisfy diverse objectives owing to the innate imperfections in system architecture and development methodology. Thus, the hybrid of source oriented and problem oriented approach is highly desirable. The purpose of this study is to present an architecture and methodology required to construct hybrid electronic medical record system and to develop a prototype based on them. Analyzing the clinical processes and data requirements of problem oriented medical record approach we developed a software process model as weel as an architecture model which consists of legacy system, clinical data repository, problem list database, prospective plan database, user interface, and synchronization procedures.
The basic requirements for conducting electronic commerce include confidentiality, integrity, authentication and authorization. Cryptographic algorithms, make possible use of powerful authentication and encryption methods. Cryptographic techniques offer essential types of services for electronic commerce : authentication, non-repudiation. The oldest form of key-based cryptography is called secret-key or symmetric encryption. Public-key systems offer some advantages. The public key pair can be rapidly distributed. We don't have to send a copy of your public key to all the respondents. Fast cryptographic algorithms for generating message digests are known as one-way hash function. In order to use public-key cryptography, we need to generate a public key and a private key. We could use e-mail to send public key to all the correspondents. A better, trusted way of distributing public keys is to use a certification authority. A certification authority will accept our public key, along with some proof of identity, and serve as a repository of digital certificates. The digital certificate acts like an electronic driver's license. The Korea government is trying to set up the Public Key Infrastructure for certificate authorities. Both governments and the international business community must involve archiving keys with trusted third parties within a key management infrastructure. The archived keys would be managed, secured by governments under due process of law and strict accountability. It is important that all the nations continue efforts to develop an escrowed key in frastructure based on voluntary use and international standards and agreements.
Ensuring sufficient supplies of clean, economic and acceptable energy is a critical global challenge for the 21st century. There seems little alternative to a greatly expanded role for nuclear power, but implementation of this option will depend on ensuring that all resulting wastes can be disposed of safely. Although there is a consensus on the fundamental feasibility of such disposal by experts in the field, concepts have to be developed to make them more practical to implement and, in particular, more acceptable to key stakeholders. By considering global trends and using illustrative examples from Japan, key areas for future R&D are identified and potential areas where the synergies of international collaboration would be beneficial are highlighted.
The use of drones and laser scanners have the potential to drastically reduce the time and costs of conventional techniques employed for field survey of cultural heritage buildings. Moreover, point cloud data can be utilized to create an as-built Building Information Model (BIM), providing a repository for consistent operations information. However, BIM creation is not a requisite for heritage buildings, and their technological possibilities and barriers have not been documented. This research explored the processes required to convert a heritage university building to a BIM model, using existing off-the-shelf software applications. Point cloud data was gathered from drones for the exterior, while a laser scanner was employed for the interior of the building. The point clouds were preprocessed and used as references for the geometry of the building elements, including walls, slabs, windows, doors, and staircases. The BIM model was subsequently created for the individual elements using existing and custom libraries. The model was used to extract 2D CAD drawings that met the requirements of Korea's heritage preservation specifications. The experiment showed that technical improvements were needed to overcome issues of occlusion, modeling errors due to modeler's subjective judgements and point cloud data cleaning and filtering techniques.
Code refactoring refers to a maintenance task to change the code of a software system in order to consider new requirements, fix bugs, and restructure code. There have been various studies of refactoring subjects such as refactoring types, refactoring benefits, and CASE tools. However, Java applications rather than python ones have been benefited by refactoring-based coding practices. There are few cases of refactoring stuides on Python applications. This paper finds and analyzes single refactoring operations and composite refactoring operations for Python-based deep learning systems. In addition, we find that there is a statistically significant difference in the frequency of occurrence of single and complex refactoring operations in the two groups of deep learning applications and typical Python applications. Furthermore, we analyze keywords of commit messages to catch refactoring intentions of software developers.

A study was conducted on the vitrification of the rare earth oxide waste generated from the PyroGreen process. The target rare earth waste consisted of eight elements: Nd, Ce, La, Pr, Sm, Y, Gd, and Eu. The waste loading of the rare earth waste in the developed borosilicate glass system was 20wt%. The fabricated glass, processed at 1,200℃, exhibited uniform and homogeneous surface without any crystallization and precipitation. The viscosity and electrical conductivity of the melted glass at 1,200℃ were 7.2 poise and 1.1 S·cm-1, respectively, that were suitable for the operation of the vitrification facility. The calculated leaching index of Cs, Co, and Sr were 10.4, 10.6, and 9.8, respectively. The evaluated Product Consistency Test (PCT) normalized release of the glass indicated that the glass satisfied the requirements for the disposal acceptance criteria. Furthermore, the pristine, 90 days water immersed, 30 thermal cycled, and 10 MGy gamma ray irradiated glasses exhibited good compressive strength. The results indicated that the fabricated glass containing rare earth waste from the PyroGreen process was acceptable for the disposal in the repository, in terms of chemical durability and mechanical strength.

APro, developed in KAERI for the process-based total system performance assessment (TSPA) of deep geological disposal systems, performs finite element method (FEM)-based multiphysics analysis. In the FEM-based analysis, the mesh element quality influences the numerical solution accuracy, memory requirement, and computation time. Therefore, an appropriate mesh structure should be constructed before the mesh stability analysis to achieve an accurate and efficient process-based TSPA. A generic reference case of DECOVALEX-2023 Task F, which has been proposed for simulating stationary groundwater flow and time-dependent conservative transport of two tracers, was used in this study for mesh stability analysis. The relative differences in tracer concentration varying mesh structures were determined by comparing with the results for the finest mesh structure. For calculation efficiency, the memory requirements and computation time were compared. Based on the mesh stability analysis, an approach based on adaptive mesh refinement was developed to resolve the error in the early stage of the simulation time-period. It was observed that the relative difference in the tracer concentration significantly decreased with high calculation efficiency.
