  • This paper considers the preventive maintenance scheduling problem of the cluster tool which is one of the most important manufacturing equipments in the next-generation semiconductor production environment. We define a random process that expresses the successive amount of chemicals accumulating inside the tool. Based on the renewal theory, we find the expected value and probability distribution of the time that the amount of accumulated chemicals exceeds a predetermined level. For a given probability that the accumulated chemicals exceeds the predetermined level we present a method to obtain the number of chamber operations to perform the preventive maintenance of that chamber. In addition, a method to get the preventive maintenance schedule for the whole cluster tool is presented. A numerical example is provided to illustrate our method.

  • A theory of public knowledge is offered for the purposes of defining more clearly its role in information systems and classification schemas. Public knowledge is knowledge intended to be available for use in a public system. It is knowledge accessible to the public or knowledge in the public arena as opposed to the other seemingly multitudinous ways to describe knowledge. Furthermore, there are many different public arenas or small worlds. Public knowledge, irrespective of these different arenas, has four important overlying characteristics: It is consensual, it does not imply complete truth or certainty, it is autonomous, and it has a constant renewal of old knowledge with new knowledge. Each of these attributes has been culled from a study of the works of Patrick Wilson, Karl Popper, and John Ziman.

  • Whale helical gears is used to transmit motion between parallel shafts, the shaft bearings are subjected to both radial and thrust loads. The reliability and life analysis are based on the two-parameter Weibull disribution lives of the component gears and bearings. Two methods of estimating the time between gear system overhauls and the number of replacement components needed were presented. The first method assumes replacement of all components during an overhaul of a failed gear system. the second method assumes replacement of failed comonents only. Renewal theory was presented to estimate the number of comonent replacements in a gear system for both methods.

  • Using the renewal theory based on the Weibull distribution, an estimation was made on the number of replacement parts annually required for the after-service of some major parts of power tiller at the local repair shops or dealers. The production requirements of the parts were also estimated for the service in the next 5 years following the sales of power tillers.

  • An equipment is subject to shocks which occur randomly according to a Poisson process. The equipment fails when the total cumulative damage reaches a certain prescribed level. An optimal preventive replacement policy is presented when the level of cumulative damage cannot be checked. Renewal theory is used to obtain the results and a case example is presented.

  • This article suggests the costs analysis of resumer's view under the stepdown warranty is renewd whenever a failure occurs in the warranty period. And the general warranty policy is showed such as free replacement policy prorata warranty policy, hybrid warranty policy. In this respect case, the cost of consumer is also calculated. In order to study the cost analysis of consumer. "RENEWAL THEORY" is introduced and the cost of consumer is calculated.alculated.

  • The secret sharing is the basic concept of the threshold cryptosystem and has an important position in the modern cryptography. At 1995, Jarecki proposed the proactive secret sharing to be a solution of existing the mobile adversary and also proposed the share renewal scheme for (k, n) threshold scheme. For n participants in the protocol, his method needs $O(n^2)$ modular exponentiation per one participant. It is very high computational cost and is not fit for the scalable cryptosystem. In this paper, we propose the efficient share renewal scheme that need only O(n) modular exponentiation per participant. And we prove our scheme is secure if less than img ${\frac{1}{2}}$ n-1 adversaries exist and they are static adversary.

Customer and Sales Orientation of Franchising-Based Insurance Agent Format: Their Effects on Customer Trust, Identification, and Intention to Renewal Contract : focused on the social exchange theory (프랜차이즈 기반 보험설계사의 고객지향성과 판매지향성이 고객 신뢰, 일체감, 그리고 재계약의도에 미치는 영향: 사회교환이론을 중심으로)

  • Purpose: The insurance market is steadily growing, with General Agencies (GA) experiencing rapid sales increases. GAs need marketing strategies to boost contract renewal intentions by effectively managing customer relationships. This study examines the impact of perceived customer orientation and sales orientation on customer trust, identification, and renewal intentions with GA insurance planners. Research design, data, and methodology: The study surveyed customers who subscribe to insurance products from GA-affiliated insurance planners. Out of 615 respondents, 251 valid responses were analyzed using frequency analysis, measurement models, and structural equation modeling (SEM) with SmartPLS 4.0. Result: The study revealed that customer orientation positively affects cognitive trust and sense of identification. In contrast, sales orientation did not significantly impact customer trust or identification. Additionally, customer trust positively influences sense of identification, and both trust and identification positively affect the intention to renew the contract. Conclusions: Implementing a customer-oriented marketing strategy is essential for providing tailored customer management services and maintaining or improving the quality of customer relationships for insurance planners. Given that insurance products require long-term management, it is crucial for planners to build trust, enhance customer identification, and offer continuous customer management to meet customers' needs effectively.

  • In this paper, IEEE 802.11 MAC layer protocol is modeled by p-persistent CSMA method. And We introduce performance analysis model based on Basic CSMA/CA protocol, CTS/RTS protocol and hidden node effect reflected Basic CSMA/CA Protocol, Which is mathematically assayed by renewal theory. In this throughput, the result shown that Basic CSMA/CA protocol is profitable when the number of active node is smaller, or the length of packet is shorter, and CTS/RTS protocol is lucrative when the number of active node is larger, or the length of packet is longer. Also the result shown that hidden node less affected when the active node has small one, rather than when the active node has larger one.

  • The industrial life cycle theory was extended to the product life cycle theory and the corporate life cycle theory, but a conceptual life cycle was presented, and quantitative empirical evidence for this was insufficient. It is intended to improve appropriate resource planning and resource allocation by quantitatively predicting the industrial cycle and its position (age) in the cycle. Human resources, tangible assets, and industrial output analysis were conducted based on 28 years of actual data of 39 industries in Korea by applying the Gompertz model, which is a population ecology prediction model. By predicting with the Gompertz model, the coefficient of determination R2 value was 97% or more, confirming the high suitability with the actual cumulative sales value of the industry. A numerical model for calculating the life cycle of each industry, calculating the saturation of input resources for each industry, and diagnosing the financial stability of the industry was presented. These results will contribute to the decision-making of industrial policy officers for budget planning appropriately for each stage of industry development. Future research will apply the numerical model of this study to foreign national industries, complete an inter-industry convergence diagnostic model (e.g. ease of convergence, suitability of convergence, etc.) for renewal of fading industries.
