NAS 전지 모듈의 온도 분포 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Temperature Distribution Characteristics of NAS Battery Module)

  • This paper addresses the issue of Renewable Energy for Electricity Storage device is one of the NAS (Sodium-Sulfur) battery will be about the module. For safety reasons, not the actual battery cells using a dummy cell in the module's operating temperature setting to examine the characteristics of the insulation vacuum of the wall temperature and external temperature changes measured over time. Upper and lower boundaries of the wall vacuum insulation characteristics cotton C intervals over time, average $5^{\circ}C$, but the temperature is rising, 4C section with little temperature change did not occur. On the other hand, about $3^{\circ}C$ in section 4D, and it was confirmed that the temperature rises. Wall vacuum insulation characteristics over time to look at the experiments and measurements are described.

신재생에너지의 농촌마을 적용방안 (Development plan to apply renewable energy for rural villages)

  • The international oil price have being fluctuated due to the exhaustion of fossil energy problem became big social issue. Rural villages are relatively sensitive to the energy problem, reflecting the characteristics of rural sustainable and stable introduction of renewable energy sources that are available is essential. In addition, through the influx of young workers in rural areas to regain vitality, efforts to improve rural living environment has been under the rural newtown project. In this study, a survey aimed at rural dwellers through the AHP, interview to report of realization about renewable energy and review the current policies. The results of realization survey though AHP are as follows, (1) the advantage of the natural environment (2) the superiority of government supporting policy and being economic, (3) easy to use, (4) ecologically stable, and (5) policy stable, respectively. In addition, renewable energy sources among the inhabitants of rural areas by solar energy was the highest score. The impact of regional characteristics compared with other energy sources receive little, easy to apply and has already been considerable technological development is considered.

  • Recently, because of the depletion of fossil fuels and the environmental pollution by using fossil fuels and harmfulness of atomic power plants. the interests concerning new and renewable energy resources are rising increasingly. And of all new and renewable energy sources the PV generation systems are recognized as the most useful and desirable renewable energy source in allowance for installation conditions. In this development, the 3kWp photovoltaic power generation system is realized to verify the performance of the 3kWp PCS developed by Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. (HHI). The photovoltaic array used in this system is composed of 60 modules of 50Wp capacity. The developed system is tested as procedures and items of test regulation recognized by governmen and the experimental results show the excellent electrical characteristics. Now, the 3kWp PCS developed is installed in the PV model house built in HHI plant and is being tested for practical use commercialization.

  • Due to global environmental regulations and policies with rapid advancement of renewable energy technologies, the development type of renewable energy sources (RES) in power systems is expanding from small-scale distributed generation to large-scale grid-connected systems. In the near future, it is expected that RES achieves grid parity which means the equilibrium point where the power cost of RES is equal to the power costs of conventional generators. However, although RES would achieve the grid parity, the cost related with development of large-scale RES is still a big burden. Furthermore, it is hard to determine a suitable capacity of RES because of their output characteristics affected by locations and weather effects. Therefore, to determine an optimal capacity for RES becomes an important decision-making problem. This study proposes a method for determining an optimal installed capacity of RES from the business viewpoint of an independent power plant (IPP). In order to verify the proposed method, we have performed case studies on real power system in Incheon and Shiheung areas, South Korea.

  • In recent years, renewable energy sources have been mentioned as solution to environmental regulation and energy supply-demand. Energy storage systems are needed to mitigate the intermittent output characteristics of renewable energy sources and to operate micro grid efficiently using renewable energy generation systems. However, despite the necessity of energy storage system, this cannot secure the economical efficiency of the energy storage system by high initial cost. In this paper, a micro grid is constructed to supply electric power to industrial customers by using solar power generation system and energy storage system among renewable energy generation power sources and operated to improve energy independence. In the case study, we use photovoltaic system which is representative renewable energy generation system. Unlike conventional photovoltaic system, this system uses floating photovoltaic system with the advantage of having high output and no land area limitations. It is operated for the purpose of improving energy independence in the micro grid. In order to secure economical efficiency, the energy storage system operates a micro grid with a minimum capacity. Finally, this paper calculates the appropriate subsidy for the energy storage capacity.

기술, 경제성을 고려한 최적 친환경 수소생산 기술 선정 방법 (Selecting Optimal CO2-Free Hydrogen Production Technology Considering Market and Technology)

  • With the increased interest in renewable energy, various hydrogen production technologies have been developed. Hydrogen production can be classified into green, blue, gray, and pink hydrogen depending on the production method; each method has different technical performance, costs, and CO2 emission characteristics. Hence, selecting the technology priorities that meet the company strategy is essential to develop technologically and economically feasible projects and achieve the national carbon neutrality targets. In addition, in early development technologies, analyzing the technology investment priorities based on the company's strategy and establishing investment decisions such as budget and human resources allocation is important. This study proposes a method of selecting priorities for various hydrogen production technologies as a specific implementation plan to achieve the national carbon neutrality goal. In particular, we analyze key performance indicators for technology, economic feasibility, and environmental performance by various candidate technologies and suggest ways to score them. As a result of the analysis using the aforementioned method, the priority of steam methane reforming (SMR) technology combined with carbon capture & storage (CCS) was established to be high in terms of achieving the national carbon neutrality goal.

풍속고도분포지수 산정 및 불확도 평가 - 제주도 사례 (Calculation of Vertical Wind Profile Exponents and Its Uncertainty Evaluation - Jeju Island Cases)

  • For accurate wind resource assessment and wind turbine performance test, it is essential to secure wind data covering a rotor plane of wind turbine including a hub height. In general, we can depict wind speed profile by extrapolating or interpolating the wind speed data measured from a meteorological tower where multiple anemometers are mounted at different heights using a power-law of wind speed profile. The most important parameter of a power-law equation is a vertical wind profile exponent which represents local characteristics of terrain and land cover. In this study, we calculated diurnal vertical wind profile exponents of 8 locations in Jeju Island who possesses excellent wind resource according to the GUM (Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement) to evaluate its uncertainty. Expanded uncertainty is calculated by combined standard uncertainty, which is the result of composing type A standard uncertainty with type B standard uncertainty. Although pooled standard deviation should be considered to derive type A uncertainty, we used the standard deviation of vertical wind profile exponent of each day avoiding the difficult of uncertainty evaluation of diurnal wind profile variation. It is anticipated that the evaluated uncertainties of diurnal vertical wind profile exponents at 8 locations in Jeju Island are to be registered as a national standard reference data and widely used in the relevant areas.

후발국 신재생에너지기술개발의 동력: 한국의 신재생에너지기술개발사업 사례연구 (The Socio-technical Constituency behind New & Renewable Energy Technology Development in a Latecomer: The Case study of New & Renewable Technology Program of Korea)

  • 후발국에서의 신재생에너지기술의 개발은 어떤 힘에 의해서 추동될까? 후발국의 '녹색 성장'은 '녹색'의 가치 실현을 위해서 추동되는가 아니면 '성장'을 지속하기 위한 새로운 분야의 개척인가? 본 연구는 한국의 신재생에너지 기술개발사업 사례 분석을 통해 후발국 신재생에너지기술개발의 동력에 대한 이해를 돕고자 한다. 환경문제와 기술개발, 기술개발과 '사회기술연맹' 그리고 후발국 '권위주의적 발전국가론'에 대한 기존의 논의를 통해 기술 개발의 동력은 사회기술연맹의 구성에서 찾을 수 있다는 것에 착안하여 연구의 틀을 구성하였고 이를 토대로 선발국 덴마크와 독일의 사례를 분석한 후 한국의 신재생에너지기술개발사업 사례를 분석하였다. 한국은 선진국과는 다르게 산업계와 정부 주도의 성장동맹을 바탕으로 신재생에너지기술개발이 추진되었고 환경시민단체는 정부의 시민단체 국정 참여 정책에 힘입어 신재생에너지정책협의회에 참여함으로써 사회기술연맹을 구성하였다. 따라서 한국의 신재생에너지 사회기술연맹은 '녹색'의 가치 실현보다는 '성장'중심이라는 한계를 갖는다.

금속수소화물 기반 수소저장시스템의 열관리 인자 조사 (Investigation of Thermal Management Parameters of Metal Hydride Based Hydrogen Storage System)

  • Metal hydride based hydrogen storage under moderate temperature and pressure gives the safety advantage over the gas and liquid storage methods. Still solid-state hydrogen storage including metal hydride is below the DOE target level for automotive applications, but it can be adapted to stationary or miliary application reasonably. In order to develop a modular solid state hydrogen storage system that can be applied to a distributed power supply system composed of renewable energy - water electrolysis - fuel cell, the heat transfer and hydrogen storage characteristics of the metal hydride necessary for the module system design were investigated using AB5 type metal hydride, LCN2 ($La_{0.9}Ce_{0.1}Ni_5$). The planetary high energy mill (PHEM) treatment of LCN2 confirmed the initial hydrogen storage activation and hydrogen storage capacity through surface modification of LCN2 material. Expanded natural graphite (ENG) addition to LCN2, and compression molding at 500 atm improved the thermal conductivity of the solid hydrogen storage material.

일사량에 따른 전압-전력 특성 (P-V Characteristics According to the Irradiation)

  • Development of renewable energy is promoted to achieve sustainability. So researchers are seeking and developing a new, clean, safe and renewable energy. However, solar energy is an extreme intermittent and inconstant energy source. In order to improve the photovoltaic system efficiency and utilize the solar energy more fully, and the DC power vary with the irradiation, it is necessary to study the characteristics of P-V according to the external factors. This paper presents the analysis of characteristics of P-V according to the irradiation. The results show that the DC power of the photovoltaic system are increased along with the increasing values of irradiation.
