연마제 재활용을 위한 분급장치 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Classifier for Recycling of Abrasive)

  • For process improvement and cutting down on expenses in solar cell industry, it is necessary to improve recycling process of wafer manufacturing. In this research, a study is introduced to develop classifier which is for recycling of abrasive. First of all, recycling process of wafer manufacturing is analyzed. And then, 3 steps of experiments such as oil removal, impurities removal and classification were executed. For the classification of slurry, a classifier is designed and manufactured. From experiments, it is verified that ultra sound vibration and flux are very important factors for classification. By experiencing the recycling processes and making devices, the technique can be initiated industry if needed such as decreasing waste and cutting down on expenses.

Pretreatment of low-grade poly(ethylene terephthalate) waste for effective depolymerization to monomers

  • Pretreatment process of silica-coated PET fabrics, a major low-grade PET waste, was developed using the reaction with NaOH solution. By destroying the structure of silica coating layer, impurities such as silica and pigment dyes could be removed. The removal of impurity was confirmed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). The pretreated PET fabric samples were used for depolymerization into its monomer, bis(2-hydroxylethyl) terephthalate (BHET), by glycolysis with ethylene glycol (EG), and zinc acetate (ZnAc) catalyst. The quality of BHET was confirmed by DSC, TGA, HPLC and NMR analyses. The highest BHET yield of 89.23% was obtained from pretreated PET fabrics, while glycolysis with raw PET fabric yielded 85.43%. The BHET yield from untreated silica-coated PET fabrics was 60.39%. The pretreatment process enhances the monomer yield by the removal of impurity and also improves the quality of the monomer.

1,3-프로판디올의 생물학적 생산을 위한 분리공정 (Separation Processes of Biologically Produced 1,3-Propanediol)

  • 바이오 디젤 생산량 증가에 따라 공정 중에 부산물로 발생하는 글리세린의 과잉공급 및 가격 하락이 이루어지고 있다. 이에 따라 글리세린에 기반한 다양한 화학제품생산과 관련된 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있으며 글리세린을 탄소원으로 한 1,3-프로판디올의 생물학적 생산은 그 중 하나이다. 1,3-프로판디올은 지금까지 화학적인 방법을 통해 생산되어 왔으나 생물학적인 방법을 통해 생산될 경우 공정의 친환경성 및 경제성 확보와 더불어 1,3-프로판디올을 중합원료로 하는 PTT (Poly(trimethylene terephthalate))의 바이오폴리머로서의 활용을 가능하게 한다. 그럼에도 글리세린 유래 1,3-프로판디올의 생물학적 생산의 경제성에 있어 핵심은 경제적인 분리공정의 수립에 있다. 본 총설에서는 1,3-프로판디올을 분리하기 위한 공정들에 대한 연구 동향을 소개하고 최근 에너지 절감과 더불어 1,3-프로판디올 분리와 부산물 제거를 동시에 달성할 있는 공정으로 주목받고 있는 수상이성분계 추출에 대한 연구개발 동향 및 전망을 제시하고자 한다.

전자선 용해법에 의한 sponge Ti 및 Ti-6Al-4V 합금의 정련 및 용해에 관한 연구 (Study on refining and melting of sponge Ti and Ti-6Al-4V alloy by electron beam melting)

  • 적은 양의 침입형 불순물을 함유한 고순도 재료를 제조하기 위해 70 ㎾ 걸자 빔용해기를 제작하였으며 이를 이용해서 sponge Ti와 Ti-6Al-4V 합금을 용융시켰다. 전자 빔 용해법을 이용해 정련된 sponge Ti에 대한 실험 결과를 바탕으로 초기 용해 180초 동안에는 Ti의 순도가 증가하였지만 그 이후로는 크게 변화지 않는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 Ti의 정련 결과, 침입형 불순물과 금속 불순물의 양을 포함한 전체 불순물의 양이 900 ppm인 고순도(99.9 wt%)의 Ti를 얻었다. Ti-6Al-4V 합금의 전자 빔 용해에 대한 실험 결과로부터 손실되는 Al의 양은 열역학적 데이터, regular solution model 그리고 model of solute removal kinetics를 통해서 판단할 수 있음을 알 수 있었으며, 이 모델들로부터 계산된 합금 조성과 실험을 통해서 구한 합금 조성이 일치하였다. 그리고 Ti-6Al-4V 합금의 조성은 매우 균일하였으며 이것은 EPMA line scanning을 통해서 확인하였다.

순도가 향상된 금속급 실리콘 제조를 위한 산침출 연구 (A Study of Acid Leaching for Metallurgical Grade Silicon Manufacturing Improved Purity)

  • 다양한 산업에 사용되고 있는 금속급 실리콘(MG-Si, Metallurgical grade silicon)을 제조하기 위해 실리콘 원료 내 가장 많이 함유하고 있는 불순물인 알루미늄(Al) 및 철(Fe)을 제거하고자 산(Acid) 침출 실험을 수행하였다. 5가지 종류의 산(HCl, HF, H2SO4, HNO3, H3PO4)을 1, 2, 4, 6M로 조제하여 실리콘 원료에 반응시킨 결과, 1M 농도의 HF가 가장 우수한 Al 및 Fe 제거율을 나타내었으며 각각 97.9%와 95.2로 나타났다. 그러나 HF는 실리콘 부식 특성으로 인해 18% 가량의 수율 감소가 발생하였으며 이러한 수율감소를 최소화하기 위해 두 번째로 제거율이 우수하게 나타난 2M HCl과 혼합하여 실리콘 원료에 적용하였다. 혼합용액의 최적조건을 선정하기 위해 실험을 수행하여 $80^{\circ}C$, 2시간의 침출 최적조건으로 결정되었으며 이 혼합용액의 적용 결과 Al 및 Fe 잔류농도가 각각 141 ppmw 및 93ppmw로 나타나 3N급의 순도를 갖는 금속급 실리콘을 제조하기에 매우 용이한 것으로 확인되었다.

대마섬유의 정련 방법에 관한 비교 연구 (Comparative Study on the Degumming Methods of Hemp Fiber)

  • Previous studies are used to examine cellulose content, degumming period, fiber quality, production yield, production cost, development limit of fiber according to physical, chemical, and microbial degumming methods. Three types of degumming methods are used to measure surface condition after degumming, necessity of additional degumming and degree of impurity removal. First, previous studies confirmed that the microbial degumming method is superior in terms of cellulose content, fiber quality, production yield, production cost, and fiber development possibility. Second, surface condition and the necessity of additional degumming were analyzed by SEM. The black skin binding material was removed in the case of the Sangnangyi and chemical degumming; however, it was insufficient and further degumming was required. Skin fiber binding material was removed in the case of microbial degumming and the surface was cleanest after degumming; in addition, most showed the form of yarn decomposition. The FT-IR spectrum determined the degree of removal of impurities and showed that it can utilize inherent physical properties as the best degumming method. The degree of removal of pectin and lignin by microbial degumming was cleanest with hemicellulose also reduced by microbial degumming.

화염-표면 상호작용에 의한 예혼합 화염의 열소염 및 화학소염에 관한 연구 (A Study of Thermal and Chemical Quenching of Premixed Flame by Flame-Surface Interaction)

  • Incomplete combustion due to quenching in a narrow confinement has been a major problem for realization of a reliable micro combustion device. In most micro combustors, effects of flows are absent in the quenching because the flow is laminar and no severe stretch is present. In such circumstance, quenching is caused either by heat loss or by removal of active radicals to the wall surface of the confinement. An experimental investigation was carried out to investigate the relative significance of these two causes of quenching of a premixed flame. A premixed jet burner with a rectangular cross section at the exit was built. At the burner exit, the flame stands between two walls with adjustable distance. The gap between the two walls at which quenching occurs was measured at different wall surface conditions. The results were analyzed to estimate the relative significance of heat loss to the wall and the removal of radicals at the surface. The measurements indicated that the quenching distance was independent of the wall surface characteristics such as oxygen vacancy, grain boundary, or impurities at low temperature. At high temperature, however, the surface characteristics strongly affect the quenching distance, implying that radical removal at the wall plays a significant role in the quenching process.

압력식 급속 자동 여과장치의 여과성능 평가 (The Performance Estimation of Pressure-Type Rapid Automatic Filter)

  • A pressure-type rapid automatic filter of 2000mm diameter and 170 ton/h filtering capacity was fabricated. In case of no external impurity inflow, the turbidity removal efficiency on raw water was experimented and the numbers of impurities of each sizes were analyzed by particle counter. As the result of circulated filtering, the raw water of 40 NTU was filtered to 0.44 NTU and the numbers of impurities above $1{\mu}m$ were removed by approximately 95%. With the filtering efficiency experimented and the mathematical method, the turbidity change of circulation water were calculated according to the inflow rate of external impurity and water treatment method of blow-down or filtering. The cost of blow-down water was calculated from above results. And simple payback period for this filter is calculated as about one year. Nowadays, as the cost of water is continuously increasing and environment regulations will be more strict, the water quality control using this filter will be expected to satisfy the user requirement.

미생물 공법에 의한 매립가스 황화수소 제거 및 바이오황 생산 (Application of the Microbial Process for Hydrogen Sulfide Removal and Bio-Sulfur Production from Landfill Gas)

  • Operational testing of the THIOPAQ® facility that removes H2S from landfill gas was performed for 746 days. The average H2S removal efficiency was 99.4%, and the input quantities of air, NaOH, and nutrients per sulfur load were 13.1 ㎥/ton, 1.5 ㎥/ton, and 28.7 L/ton, respectively. The purity of the bio-sulfur produced from the facility was 94.8%, with 3.3% impurities, except for moisture. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy showed that the compositional contents of amino acids and free amino acids of the bio-sulfur surface were 5,308 and 728 mg/kg, respectively. The mean particle size was 3.41 ㎛, which was much smaller than that of chemical sulfur. Based on these results, a high H2S removal rate of more than 97% is feasible, and high value-added bio-sulfur, which is used as a fungicide because of its hydrophilic characteristics and small size, can be obtained at this facility.

전자 등급 2-프로파논의 정제에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Refinement of the Electronic Grade 2-Propanone)

  • This research is related to the process of refining the raw material, industrial 2-propanone to the 2-propanone of the electronic grade. With this view, the high purity of 2-propanone was obtained through the complex preprocessing(physical adsorption method), distillation process and membrane-filtration of distillate. Impurities were identified by GC and UV, and then we assayed the water content in 2-propanone passing adsorption step made of activated carbon and Zeolite 4A. Furthermore, the distillation was performed with the packed column distillation apparatus to eliminate impurities such as acetaldehyde. Particulates were removed by reduced-pressure filtration through $0.5{\mu}m$ membrane filter and the number of the particulates was measured by particulate counter to confirm the removal of impure particles.
