  • This paper presents technologies to improve the control of an impact wrench. Impact wrench is a tool which is held by the electro-mechanical manipulator and used to fasten and loosen the bolts for remote maintenance of equipment in hostile environment. Vision system was developed to measure the distance and improve the positioning of the impact wrench. The vision system used two laser beams with a CCTV camera. Also, a torque adjusting method was developed to limit the fastening torque.

  • The purpose of this study is to explain the importance of Vibration Monitoring Device by introducing an example of Predictive Maintenance System using Condition Monitoring System of Hydro-turbine generator. Confirming vibration of generation equipment is commissioning procedure during equipment completion for checking guaranteed items. Data from Generator output range are used to determine output band to continue the performance of equipment. The Vibration Monitoring System is not absolute method of maintenance, but if it is used well with expert, it will be visible, data-analyzed, scientific maintenance more than others. And also, Condition Monitoring System is very important for remote controlled small hydro-power plant although most of it is installed in Large hydro-power plant.

  • 밀폐 및 차폐 공간을 갖는 핫셀에서 사용후핵연료와 같은 고방사선 물질을 취급하고 있으며, 핵주기시설에서 마스터-슬레이브 매니퓰레이터는 원격취급장비로서 널리 사용되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 차세대관리공정의 디지털 목업을 구축하고 원격유지보수를 위한 매니퓰레이터의 작업영역 및 작업분석을 수행하였다. 실제 환경과 동일한 가상 작업환경을 갖는 디지털 목업은 3차원 그래픽으로 모델링된 공정장치 및 원격 취급장비들로 구성된다. 모델링된 매니퓰레이터는 기구학 및 동작범위에 대한 속성을 부여되고 외부 입력장치는 space ball을 사용하여 매니퓰레이터의 동작을 구현하였다. 또한 Tele-operation 인터페이스를 사용하여 6축 외부 입력장치와 연계한 시스템을 개발하였으며 외부 입력에 따른 매니퓰레이터의 동작에 대한 동기는 만족할 만한 응답을 보였다. 이는 가상환경에서 작업자 교육을 위한 시스템 개발에 유용할 것이다.

  • 현대의 도시철도차량 시스템은 복잡하고 첨단화 되어 있으며, 상호 인터페이스 체계를 구축하고 있는 차량 유지보수시스템의 체계적인 종합관리가 필요하다. 본 연구는 무선 전송 장치를 이용하여 전동차 정보 자동 수집 장치를 도입 적용한 사례에 대한 분석 결과이다. 무선 전송 장치는 차량기지로 입고한 전동차 열차종합제어장치에 수집된 각종 정보를 무선 통신으로 데이터를 전송함으로써 유지보수 비용절감과 데이터 전송의 신뢰성 향상 효과가 있으며 이러한 무선 전송 장치를 도입 적용하여 기존의 열차정보수집 방법을 개선한 운용 사례를 제시한다.

  • 최근 네트워크 기술의 발달과 함께, 시공간에 제약을 받지 않는 웹기반 원격제어 시스템들과 실시간 원격 제어 시스템들이 산업 여러 공장자동화 분야에서 많이 개발되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 철강업 분야의 공장자동화를 위하여, 우리는 무선망을 내장한 클라이언트 PC(PDA)의 그래픽 에디터 화면과 산업현장의 서버에 접속하여 데이터의 전송을 제어할 수 있는 실시간 원격제어 시스템을 구현하였다. 본 시스템의 구축은 산업현장의 관리적인 측면에서 작업자의 이동 감소, 신속한 설비제어, 생산 효율성 증대, 유지보수 비용 감소 등의 여러 가지 효과를 가져왔다.

  • Tele-operation and remote monitoring techniques are essential and important technologies for the inspection and maintenance of the radioactive waste. A mobile robot has been developed for the application of remote monitoring and inspection of nuclear facilities, where human access is limited because of the high-level radioactive environments, The mobile robot was designed with reconfigurable crawler type of wheels attached on the front and rear side in order to pass through the ditch, The extendable mast, mounted on the mobile robot, car be extended up to 8 m vertically. The robust controller for radiation is designed in focus on electric components to prevent abnormal operation in a highly radioactivated area during reactor operation, This robot system will enhance the reliability of nuclear power facilities, and cope with the unexpected radiation accident.

  • As the internet communication is prevalent in recent years, it becomes quite possible to monitor and control some mechanical plants from the remote place through the TCP/IP communication. Such a concept is expected to be applied to many industrial systems fur easy maintenance and trouble shooting as well as various kinds of expensive test equipments fo. sharing. Synthetic jet actuate.(SJA) is a kind of high-lifting device to prevent flow separation at high angle of attack and its use for flow control has received a great amount of attention. In this research, remote control and data monitoring system for SJA wind tunnel test is implemented by TCP/IP communication with DSP as a embedded web server. From the tests performed with embedded server, it showed the possibility of reliable remote control system design utilizing the internet communication.

An Intelligent bridge with an advanced monitoring system and smart control techniques

  • This paper introduces an approach to the realization of an ICT-based bridge remote monitoring system that enables real-time monitoring and controlled adjustments for unexpected heavy loads and also for damaging earthquakes or typhoons. In this paper, an integrated bridge remote monitoring system called the "Intelligent Bridge", which consists of a stand-alone monitoring system (SMS) and a web-based Internet monitoring system(IMS), was developed for not only bridge maintenance but also as an application for a para-stressing bridge system. To verify the possibility of controlling the actual structural performance of an "Intelligent Bridge", a model 2-span continuous cable-stayed bridge with adjustable cables was constructed. The experimental results demonstrate that the implemented monitoring system supplies detailed and accurate information about bridge behaviour for further evaluation and diagnosis, and it also opens up prospects for future application of a web-based remote system to actually adjust in-service bridges under field conditions.
