Development of GUI for Industrial Robot Systems

  • This paper proposes a graphical user interface for industrial robot systems. Previous user interfaces for industrial robot systems were based on the text. In order to enable operators to handle robots more efficiently, a set of graphical tools is provided. The graphical tools contain a control panel for operating robots and compiling robot programs, a graphical teaching panel for handling virtual robots and a graphical monitoring panel for checking robot status. Furthermore, the proposed GUI can be used to operate remote robots because it has network utilities. This system consists of the virtual mode and the real mode. The user can handle a 3D virtual solid model of the robot in the virtual mode and an actual robot in the real mode.

  • Cryogenic turbopump test facility(CTTF) is designed and developed. Hydraulic and cavitation performance of turbopump in cryogenic environment can be measured. Working fluid is liquid nitrogen and operating temperature is $-197^{\circ}C$. Liquid nitrogen run tank, catch tank and pressurizing tank has been built and remote tank pressure control system are installed. Maximum power of turbopump is 320kW and its maximum speed is 32000rpm. Cryogenic fluids and lubricating systems are effectively separated that long test times are acquired. Therefore hydraulic and cavitation performance can be measured accurately and effectively. This facility will contribute greatly to the development of turbopump for KSLV.

  • Cloud radio access network (C-RAN) refers to the virtualization of base station functionalities by means of cloud computing. This results in a novel cellular architecture in which low-cost wireless access points, known as radio units or remote radio heads, are centrally managed by a reconfigurable centralized "cloud", or central, unit. C-RAN allows operators to reduce the capital and operating expenses needed to deploy and maintain dense heterogeneous networks. This critical advantage, along with spectral efficiency, statistical multiplexing and load balancing gains, make C-RAN well positioned to be one of the key technologies in the development of 5G systems. In this paper, a succinct overview is presented regarding the state of the art on the research on C-RAN with emphasis on fronthaul compression, baseband processing, medium access control, resource allocation, system-level considerations and standardization efforts.

  • We are developing a teleconference system based on 3D medical image. The system consists in three sub-systems : conference operating system, medical image processing system and database management system. It makes it possible efficient computer-supported coorperative work among remote multi-located hospitals. In this paper, we present functions of each subsystem that have implemented until now.

  • MSC(Multi-Spectral Camera) which is a unique payload for KOMPSAT-2, comprises main three subsystems of PMU(Paylaod Management Unit), EOS(Electro -Optical Subsystem) and PDTS(Payload Data Transmission Subsystem). The PMU, as a main controller of MSC, performs major tasks such as interfacing with S/C(Space Craft), controlling the MSC operation, distributing and controlling of operating power to all MSC including thermal unit, etc. In this paper the H/W configurations as well as the functions of PMU are introduced and possible changes for the future development are suggested.

  • This study aims at discussing the future trend of the community bus and attempted to route selection by using GIS for the welfare-type community bus, which satisfies the need of elderly and physically handicapped persons in Nagasaki City. In doing so, we have conducted field survey in some sample cities of Kyushu, Japan for taking lessons from the present state analysis of community bus already operating there. As a result of the study, we have been able to identify some best possible routes for the community bus operation in Nagasaki City, which meets the requirement of the welfare community as well as of the general passengers.

  • We have designed embedded web sewer system and ported Linux operating system version 2.4.5 at our system. And then We implemented to control and monitor widely separated hardware and implemented to monitor widely separated image using CMOS image sensor HV7131B. Web server is the Boa web server with General Public License. We designed for this system using of Intel's SA1110 ARM core base processor and connecting input and output device at GPIO port of SA1110. Device driver of General purpose I/O for Embedded Linux OS is designed. And then the application program controlling driver is implemented to use of common gate interface C language. User is available to control and monitor at client PC. This method have benefit to reduce the Expenditure of hardware design and development time against PC base system and have various and capacious application against firmware base system.

  • This paper addresses the design and implementation of a wireless network. proposed as a cost-effective support platform for PLCs. With this network. one or more supervising stations may access remote equipment like PLCs. An applicable communication methods are described and we applied efficient method among them to PLCs communication. The paper specifies these requirements and indicates methods to fulfill them. Also. it provides to the model of operation, and focuses on the implementation approach. The hardware and software design is described together with a number of critical points related to wireless communication on the Cnet. Furthermore, a discussion on system expandability and performance is tackled and some observations are stated. The main conclusion is, that the proposed method can feature good performance under normal operating conditions.

  • On-line partial discharge(PD) monitoring system has been developed to monitor in operating large motor stator insulations. This system makes use of remote diagnosis techniques for the evaluation of PD activity in the control center of thermal power plant. This system can be remotely accessed via a modem to build database, analyze status and interpret the pattern of PD activity. A personnel computer is generally connected to ten motors to continuous measurement of the PD activity. The test data can be easily interpreted by a maintenance staff. For assessing the condition of stator winding in motors, this system ensures a reliable measurement and accurate estimation. Capacitive couplers used for on-line PD measurement have been 80pF. The maximum PD magnitude(Qmax), PD pattern and normalized quantity number(NQN) were performed by this system.

  • This paper intends to implement a software that controls TurtleBot 2 remotely. The moving of the robot TurtleBot 2 can be controlled using command control based on Windows 10 IoT core instead of the Robot Operating System (ROS). The implemented software allows the user to move remotely TurtleBot 2 in any specified direction and perform the monitoring such as reading feedback data from the robot. Through TCP/IP and serial communication technology, TurtleBot 2 can successfully receive command control and send feedback to the user. Using C# programming language, two Universal Windows Platform apps (client app and server app) have been implemented to allow communication between the user and TurtleBot 2. The result of this implementation has been verified and tested in an indoor platform.
