With the life style changing and the income level improving in our society, the composition of apartment residents and the preference are diversifying. For that reason, various residential plans are desired. However in bearing wall system the existing apartments have a clear attribute of a fixed system, consequently, they have a difficulty in being adapted to the social requirement. In this research, 1 would like to put a variable apartment to practical use in which with a suitable structure system applied to a variable apartment considered as remodeling system various residential requirements are accepted and the change of the family life cycle and moreover, effective and systematic remodeling are accomplished.
The purpose of this study was to find out the new directions of Korean rural village remodeling policy based on the representatives' needs in 32 rural villages. The villages were selected by accessibility, type of village construction, geographic characteristics of rural area, and administrative district. The interview data were collected from the representatives of each village. By analyzing the qualitative and the quantitative data, the following conclusions were derived: 1) The village remodeling program should be performed with a long schedule plan, flexible budget, and residents' participation. 2) In new villages, the post village management system should be set up in order to conserve the rural environment. 3) Above all, the expert service system based on government support should be done. The experts would guide residents by consulting about village tour, village viewscape of houses and facilities, and the merchandising of the village's specialized resources. 4) The rural village remodeling program should be carried out on the base of the sense of community and the elderly life.

As remodeling project is progressed in the constraint which is utilization of existing resource, the subject of remodeling and extend of construction are affected by the correlation between building element. Therefore, this research analyze the correlation between component of building element in the design phase and proposed the diagram model for correlation between building element and proposed selection method of alternative plan for optimized combination of building element in remodeling project.

Heavy-weight impact noise(HN) is the most irritating noise in Korean apartment houses. It has been proclaimed standard floor system of 210mm thick slab with isolation material in the wall type structure. But this regulation is applied only new construction field and is not considered remodeling field. In general, the LN can be reduced by using isolation material but HN is known as relating with stiffness, strength & boundary condition of slab. Therefore it is difficulty in improving the HN on remodeling field. In this study, We conducted the reinforcement of concrete slab using C.F.S.(carbon fiber sheet), steel plate and steel beam after on-dol with isolation material on the remodeling field. As the test results, It appeared using C.F.S was no improved but using steel plate & steel beam were a little improved on HN.
The deteriorted high-rise apartments make a social problem in now days. As a result, and new alternative plan for deteriorted high-rise apartments such as the remodeling concept must be considered. This study aims to develop the remodeling items which is the guide lines when remodeling of the apartment will be conducted. Thorough the case studies of maintenance and repair status of the deteriorted apartments in seoul, reasonable guidelines for selection of remodeling items were developed. Physical maintenance items includes those that need major repair activity like wall painting, water proof roof, change/repairs/implement of heating system, boiler, city gas pipelines, cold and hot water pipes, elevators, cleaning of water tanks. The period of repair is shorter than the durable year of law or codes. As a result of the study, basic maintenance items and actual repair period were proposed. This result will be the basic guidelines for remodeling items.
Space extension and the increase of the number of households are helpful to raise business value of the remodeling through the renovation of apartment houses that is required by residents of new cities and large-scaled apartment. However, in the case of accepting this demand, it could have a bad influence on the landscape of a complex in terms of the structure of apartment houses and the safety of construction and urban planning, and a problem occurs in the aspect of fairness for reconstruction. For the study, the current status related to the remodeling system through laws, related articles since 2000 and research data was analyzed. In addition, the individual quantitative analysis was conducted in the four aspects to judge whether households expansion for remodeling is plausible:1) Statistical data to comprehend the changes of population and social structure 2) Survey data of floor space index and the building-to-land ratio of new cities at the intial stage for the review of the effect of architectural planning and urban environment 3) Surveys of experts on structural safety in order to judge whether the demand of expansion is accepted or not. 4) Quantitative analysis of each item to compare fairness with reconstruction. Therefore, this study is intended to understand problems of the remodeling system that is currently operated. Moreover, it will be further reviewed that the expansion of households is feasible through the permission of expansion and it will be discussed that the revitalization of the apartment remodeling has a positive impact on the residential environment.
This study, presents the details of a propulsion system for a systematic approach to the remodeling of rural villages as part of the pilot project that will be implemented in 2013. Studies on remodeling rural villages have focused mainly on various concepts of remodeling purposes and functions, and on the size and allocation standards of the facilities, such as rural houses, village rest areas, or public facilities. Thus, research is required on the establishment of a plan to restructure rural spaces and suggestions regarding the standards applicable at the local sites. This study employed an upward access system to prepare for the remodeling project and encourage the local residents' participation. As a result, the local residents voluntarily participated in drawing up a comprehensive plan for the village maintenance settings and forms, and for making the arrangements, by discussing the pros and cons of the plan, or through the forum. Based on this result, the local government examined the project in terms of its specifics, size, timing, budgetary appropriation, and anticipated results in order to implement the project, and also provided aid from the field experts to review the plan for the space and facility plans, and the legal system to establish the remodeling plan for the rural villages. Thus, this study attempts to contribute toward improving the quality of the rural villager's lives through a comprehensive remodeling of the whole rural village, not through an individual remodeling method.
