퍼지기법을 이용한 상수관로의 노후도예측 모델 연구 (Deterioration Prediction Model of Water Pipes Using Fuzzy Techniques)

  • Pipe Deterioration Prediction (PDP) and Pipe Failure Risk Prediction (PFRP) models were developed in an attempt to predict the deterioration and failure risk in water mains using fuzzy technique and the markov process. These two models were used to determine the priority in repair and replacement, by predicting the deterioration degree, deterioration rate, failure possibility and remaining life in a study sample comprising 32 water mains. From an analysis approach based on conservative risk with a medium policy risk, the remaining life for 30 of the 32 water mains was less than 5 years for 2 mains (7%), 5-10 years for 8 (27%), 10-15 years for 7 (23%), 15-20 years for 5 (17%), 20-25 years for 5 (17%), and 25 years or more for 2 (7%).

  • Predicting remaining useful life (RUL) becomes significant to implement prognostics and health management of industrial systems. The relevant studies have contributed to creating RUL prediction models and validating their acceptable performance; however, they are confined to drive reasonable preventive maintenance strategies derived from and connected with such predictive models. This paper proposes a data-driven preventive maintenance method that predicts RUL of industrial systems and determines the optimal replacement time intervals to lead to cost minimization in preventive maintenance. The proposed method comprises: (1) generating RUL prediction models through learning historical process data by using machine learning techniques including random forest and extreme gradient boosting, and (2) applying the system failure time derived from the RUL prediction models to the Weibull distribution-based minimum-repair block replacement model for finding the cost-optimal block replacement time. The paper includes a case study to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method using an open dataset, wherein sensor data are generated and recorded from turbofan engine systems.

  • The reduction of operation and maintenance (O&M) costs is a critical factor in determining the competitiveness of wind energy. Predictive maintenance based on the estimation of remaining useful life (RUL) is a key technology to reduce logistic costs and increase the availability of wind turbines. Although a mechanical component usually has sudden changes during operation, most RUL estimation methods use the trend of a state index over the whole operation period. Therefore, overestimation of RUL causes confusion in O&M plans and reduces the effect of predictive maintenance. In this paper, two RUL estimation methods (load based and data driven) are proposed for the bearings of a wind turbine with the results of trend classification, which differentiates constant and increasing states of the state index. The proposed estimation method is applied to a bearing degradation test, which shows a conservative estimation of RUL.

Prediction of Remaining Useful Life (RUL) of Electronic Components in the POSAFE-Q PLC Platform under NPP Dynamic Stress Conditions

  • In the Korean domestic nuclear industry, to analyze the reliability of instrumentation and control (I&C) systems, the failure rates of the electronic components constituting the I&C systems are predicted based on the MIL-HDBK-217F standard titled 'Reliability Prediction of Electronic Equipment'. Based on these predicted failure rates, the mean time to failure of the I&C systems is calculated to determine the replacement period of the I&C systems. However, this conventional approach to the prediction of electronic component failure rates assumes that factors affecting the failure rates such as ambient temperature and operating voltage are static constants. In this regard, the objective of this study is to propose a prediction method for the remaining useful life (RUL) of electronic components considering mean time to failure calculations reflecting dynamic environments, such as changes in ambient temperature and operating voltage. Results of this study show that the RUL of electronic components can be estimated depending on time-varying temperature and electrical stress, implying that the RUL of electronic components can be predicted under dynamic stress conditions.

한국 노인의 삶의 질에 관련된 요인: 구강건강을 중심으로 (Potential Factors Associated with the Quality of Life in South Korean Senior People: Based on Oral Health)

  • 본 연구는 구강건강을 중심으로 노인의 삶의 질에 관련된 요인을 찾아내어 향후 노인의 삶의 질을 향상시키기 위한 국가 정책 수립 평가에 기초자료로 제시하고자 한다. 연구 분석 자료는 2007년 7월부터 2009년 12월에 실시한 국민건강영양조사 4기 원시자료로부터 구강검진을 받은 만65세 이상 노인 3,882명의 자료를 활용하였으며 IBM SPSS Statistics 19.0 프로그램을 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구 결과는 잔존치아 수가 많을수록, 국소의치 및 총의치를 필요로 하지 않는 경우 삶의 질이 높았다. 따라서 보철물이 없는 치아 상실이 삶의 질에 크게 작용하므로 잔존치아 수를 증가시키는 노력과 함께 노인에게 치과 보철물 장착을 하여 구강건강을 회복시키는 것이 시급한 과제라고 생각된다.

  • The changes of life-style by improving the standard of living produce the development of food service industry. But, the consequence is that food waste also increase. I think that the problems about the food waste become more critical. There are some reports about counting the amount of remaining foods until now. But, I can not find reports about the calory analysis of the remaining foods. So, I analysis the amounts and calories of the food and remaining food served at the restaurants for the purpose of groping how to reduce the remaining food and conclude as follows. First, the average amount of the food giving to one person is 1007gm(from 300gm to 1367gm), and the average amount of the remaining food is 126gm(from 29gm to 172gm). Second, the average calory of the food giving to one person is 795.5kcal(from 464kcal to 1225kcal), and the average calory of the remaining food is 140.8kcal(from 29kcal to 289kcal). So, we gain 130kcal more than recommending calory to woman. Therefore, we need to studies of developing menu, controlling the amount of supplied food, and improving how to supply. Also we need to study about the using of food bank and publish and use about recycling of food waste.

고온용 압력용기의 크리프 균열성장 잔여수명평가 사례 연구 (A Case Study of Creep Crack Growth Remaining life Assessment for High Temperature Pressure Equipments)

  • Creep crack growth lift of high temperature pressure equipments was assessed for various crack locations and for various material properties. Surface cracks at the inner and outer surface of the vessel in the axial and circumferential directions were considered. The crack was located in the weld metal, in the parent metal or at the weld interface. Results shored that the crack at the weld interface was the most dangerous one. The crack located outside is weaker than that located inside. Safety factors of the case in which improper material properties were used the to unavailability of the correct material properties were discussed.

노인의 경제활동 상태에 따른 잔존치아수와 구강 건강관련 삶의 질(GOHAI)의 관련성: 고령화연구 패널조사 9차 자료를 이용하여 (The Association Between Number of Remaining Teeth and Health-related Quality of Life(GOHAI) by Economic Activity Status in Elderly: Ninth Wave of the Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing(KLoSA))

  • 연구배경: 본 연구는 노인을 대상으로 경제활동 여부에 따라 구강건강상태로써 잔존치아수와 구강건강관련 삶의 질의 관련성을 확인하고자 한다. 연구방법: 제9차 고령화연구 패널조사자료를 사용하여 59세 이상 노인 6,004명을 분석대상으로 하였다. 잔존치아수는 20개 미만, 20개 이상으로 이분화 하였으며, 노인의 구강건강관련 삶의 질은 노인구강건강평가지수(GOHAI)를 사용하였다. 경제활동 상태에 따른 인구·경제·사회학적 특성 및 건강특성과 GOHAI의 평균을 확인하기 위해 독립표본 t-test를 실시하였으며, ANOVA 분석을 실시한 경우 Scheffe's post hoc 분석을 실시하여 집단간의 통계적 유의미함을 확인하였다. 경제활동 상태에 따라 잔존치아수가 GOHAI에 미치는 영향력을 확인하고자 선형회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과: 본 연구대상자 중 경제활동을 하고 있는 경우가 33.9%로 나타나 비경제활동을 하고 있는 경우보다 약 2배 정도 낮았다. 경제활동을 하고 있는 경우와 비경제활동을 하고 있는 경우에서 잔존치아수가 20개 이상일 때 GOHAI의 평균은 각각 43.32점, 40.15점으로 나타났다(p<0.001). 단순선형회귀분석결과 경제활동을 하는 경우와 비경제활동을 하는 경우에서 잔존치아수가 20개 이상인 경우는 20개 미만인 경우에 비해 GOHAI가 각각 약 4.56배, 4.92배 높아지는 것이 통계적으로 유의하게 확인되었다(p<0.001). 인구·경제·사회학적 특성 및 건강특성을 보정한 다중선형회귀분석결과 경제활동을 하는 경우와 비경제활동을 하는 경우에서 잔존치아수가 20개 이상인 경우는 20개 미만인 경우에 비해 GOHAI가 각각 약 3.62배, 2.97배 높아지는 것이 통계적으로 유의하게 확인되었다(p<0.001). 결론: 본 연구는 노인의 구강건강 상태를 확인할 수 있는 지표로써 잔존치아수를 활용하여 노인의 구강건강관련 삶의 질을 증진시킬 수 있는 다양한 방안 중 하나로 경제활동을 고려하였다. 노인의 사회경제적 환경의 개선방안으로 경제활동 지원을 통해 구강건강 뿐만 아니라 구강건강관련 삶의 질도 높일 수 있다면, 노인의 경제활동 활성화를 통한 경제적 불평등의 완화와 같은 정책적 개입은 긍정적인 효과를 거둘 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

Time-dependent creep analysis and life assessment of 304 L austenitic stainless steel thick pressurized truncated conical shells

  • This paper presents a semi-analytical solution for the creep analysis and life assessment of 304L austenitic stainless steel thick truncated conical shells using multilayered method based on the first order shear deformation theory (FSDT). The cone is subjected to the non-uniform internal pressure and temperature gradient. Damages are obtained in thick truncated conical shell using Robinson's linear life fraction damage rule, and time to rupture and remaining life assessment is determined by Larson-Miller Parameter (LMP). The creep response of the material is described by Norton's law. In the multilayer method, the truncated cone is divided into n homogeneous disks, and n sets of differential equations with constant coefficients. This set of equations is solved analytically by applying boundary and continuity conditions between the layers. The results obtained analytically have been compared with the numerical results of the finite element method. The results show that the multilayered method based on FSDT has an acceptable amount of accuracy when one wants to obtain radial displacement, radial, circumferential and shear stresses. It is shown that non-uniform pressure has significant influences on the creep damages and remaining life of the truncated cone.

발전설비확장계획에서 다중대안 리트로핏 모형화 방안 및 사례연구 (Multi-alternative Retrofit Modelling and its Application to Korean Generation Capacity Expansion Planning)

  • Purpose Retrofit, defined to be addition of new technologies or features to the old system to increase efficiency or to abate GHG emissions, is considered as an important alternative for the old coal-fired power plant. The purpose of this study is to propose mathematical method to model multiple alternative retrofit in Generation Capacity Expansion Planning(GCEP) problem, and to get insight to the retrofit patterns from realistic case studies. Design/methodology/approach This study made a multi-alternative retrofit GECP model by adopting some new variables and equations to the existing GECP model. Added variables and equations are to ensure the retrofit feature that the life time of retrofitted plant is the remaining life time of the old power plant. We formulated such that multiple retrofit alternatives are simultaneously compared and the best retrofit alternative can be selected. And we found that old approach to model retrofit has a problem that old plant with long remaining life time is retrofitted earlier than the one with short remaining life time, fixed the problem by some constraints with some binary variables. Therefore, the proposed model is formulated into a mixed binary programming problem, and coded and run using the GAMS/cplex. Findings According to the empirical analysis result, we found that approach to model the multiple alternative retrofit proposed in this study is comparing simultaneously multiple retrofit alternatives and select the best retrofit satisfying the retrofit features related to the life time. And we found that retrofit order problem is cleared. In addition, the model is expected to be very useful in evaluating and developing the national policies concerning coal-fired power plant retrofit.
