Element Free Galerkin Method applying Penalty Function Method

  • In this study, various available meshless methods are briefly reviewed and the connection among them is investigated. The objective of meshless methods is to eliminate some difficulties which are originated from reliance on a mesh by constructing the approximation entirely in terms of nodes. Especially, focusing on Element Free Galerkin Method(EFGM) based on moving least square interpolants(MLSI), a new implementation is developed based on a variational principle with penalty function method were used to enforce the essential boundary condition. In addition, the weighted orthogonal basis functions are constructed to overcome disadvantage of MLSI.

The Analysis of Customers Satisfaction with Foodservice Quality according to the Types of Foodservice (단체급식소의 운영방식에 따른 이용고객의 급식 서비스 만족도 조사)

  • This research was conducted to increase the customer satisfaction through the evaluation of their satisfaction in employee-feeding foodservice operations according to the types of foodservice. The questionnaires were distributed to randomly selected customers of employee-feeding foodservice 120 each at two public organizations, two companies and two colleges. SPSS was used for descriptive analysis, Cronbach's Alpha value and Anova test. Six hundred seventy eight respondents in self-managed foodservices and 660 in contracted foodservices were participated for the survey. On average, the number of male respondents(67.9%) was more than twice than the number of female respondents(32.1%). As for the age group, twenties were the major with 48.5% at self-managed foodservices, 56.2% at contracted foodservices. With the marital state of the users, 57% at self-managed foodservices, 61.2% at contracted foodservices were single, showing higher proportion of non-married users at contracted foodservices. In all categories comprising the foodservice satisfaction, significant differences were shown in the quality of foods(p<0.001), tangibility(p<0.05) and empathy(p<0.05) according to the types of foodservice. Responsiveness(2.9$\pm$0.87) was ranked for the highest degree of satisfaction and reliance(2.32$\pm$0.76) was the lowest at self-managed foodservices. The result at contracted foodservices showed the same categorical order with responsiveness(2.9$\pm$0.87) ranked at the first and reliance(2.32$\pm$0.76) at the last.

  • The customer's bulletin board is the important channel to get opinions from customers directly. The effective management of the bulletin board for the customer improves the reliance by providing the best replies and by accepting opinions of the customer and furthermore, that can raise the customer's reliance of the whole shopping mall is the important eCRM method. But, the present mostly customer's bulletin board is been replied without any classifying about many kinds of question. Consequently, The shopping mall should do systematic management of the best professional reply about many kinds of question. In order to resolve this problem, we implement a classifier called Naive Bayesian classifier is classified automatically bulletin board for eCRM of shopping mall.

Efficient plant regeneration from immature embryo cultures of Jatropha curcas, a biodiesel plant

  • Jatropha curcas L. (Physic nut) is a commercially important non-edible oil seed crop known for its use as an alternate source of biodiesel. In order to investigate the morphogenic potential of immature embryo, explants from four developmental stages were cultured on medium supplemented with combinations of auxins and cytokinins. It was found that the size of embryo is critical for the establishment of callus. Immature embryos (1.1-1.5 cm) obtained from the fruits 6 weeks after pollination showed a good response of morphogenic callus induction (85.7%) and subsequent plant regeneration (70%) with the maximum number of plantlets (4.7/explant) on Murashige and Skoog's (MS) medium supplemented with IBA (0.5 $mg\;l^{-1}$) and BA (1.0 $mg\;l^{-1}$). The above medium when supplemented with growth adjuvants such as 100 $mg\;l^{-1}$ casein hydrolysate + 200 $mg\;l^{-1}$ L-glutamine + 8.0 $mg\;l^{-1}$ $CuSO_4$ resulted in an even higher frequency of callus induction (100%). Plant regeneration (90%) with the maximum number of plantlets (10/explant) was achieved on MS medium supplemented with 500 $mg\;l^{-1}$ polyvinyl pyrrolidone + 30 $mg\;l^{-1}$ citric acid + 1 $mg\;l^{-1}$ BA + 0.5 $mg\;l^{-1}$ Kn + 0.25 $mg\;l^{-1}$ IBA. It was observed that plantlet regeneration could occur either through organogenesis of morphogenic callus or via multiplication of pre-existing meristem in immature embryos. The age of immature embryos and addition of a combination of growth adjuvants to the culture medium appear to be critical for obtaining high regeneration rates. Well-developed shoots rooted on half-halfstrength MS medium supplemented with 0.5 $mg\;l^{-1}$ IBA and 342 $mg\;l^{-1}$ trehalose. The rooted plants after acclimatization were successfully transferred to the field in different agro-climatic zones in India. This protocol has been successfully evaluated on five elite lines of J. curcas.

  • Korea in the era of population aging has a limitation on the welfare policy that treats the elderly as a weak person. Plans of supportive structure and maintenances of institution that can reanimate vitality of the healthy or motivated seniors in our society are very important to society that ageing is ongoing. When health and economic situation of the elderly has been weakened, our country needs to review and remake the social system or environment which helps to activate seniors` abilities and be able to become independent life through maintenance of seniors`participation structure. In this study, I will research the necessity of active support and suggest the improvement ways of legal system; not only focusing on living supports that treats unconditionally the elderly as weak person.

Integration of Unemployment Insurance with Retirement Insurance and Its Welfare Analysis (통합실업보험제의 후생분석)

  • This paper analyzes a social insurance system that integrates unemployment insurance with a pension program, allowing workers to borrow against their future wage income to finance consumption during an unemployment episode and thus improving their search incentives while reducing risks. This paper identifies the conditions under which the integration improves welfare and the factors which determine the optimal degree of integration. A fully integrated system is one in which no reliance is placed at all on a separate tax-funded unemployment insurance program. We show that when the duration of unemployment is very short compared to the period of employment or retirement, the optimal system involves an exclusive reliance on pension-funded self-insurance. This system imposes a negligible risk burden for workers while avoiding attenuating search incentives. We also argue that a joint integration of several social insurance programs with a pension program through an individual account is desirable unless the risks are perfectly correlated to each other.

Law and Economics in Labor Contracting (노동계약에 관한 법경제학적 분석:한국의 해고판례를 중심으로)

  • Since the early 1990s, the Korean courts have tilted in the direction of giving greater freedom to employers by relaxing the restrictions on dismissal for economic reasons. During the Korean economic crisis of 1998, the Korean Labor Standard Act was also revised for the purpose of relieving the limitation of employer's discretion in employment adjustment. From the Coasian perspective, this article analyze how implied contracts for the employee's reliance and employer's compliance might be influenced after the formal law is revised. We demonstrate that, if the legal change results in excessive intervention, it might cause the employers to over-breach, the employees to under-rely, and the accompanying efficiency to decrease. We scrutinize the total population of unjust dismissal cases since 1987 in order to investigate how the legal changes in Korea have affected the implied contracts. Our empirical analysis raises a possibility that Korean legal changes made in 1990s might have increased the employer's opportunism and decreased the employer's reliance effort.

A Study of Retirement Pathways for Military Personnel (직업군인의 노후대비실태에 관한 고찰)

  • Military personnel work in high stress situations and carry great responsibilites, leaving them little time to plan effectively for their retirement; typically, they tend to assume that their employer (the government) will do that planning for them. Focussing intensely on their jobs, retirement often finds them ill-prepared, and this in spite of the recent increase in discussion in society at large about retirement and how to deal with it. Government therefore needs to be more proactive in assisting these occupational groups in their exit from the workforce, especially because, as the baby-boomers age, the rate of retirements will increase dramatically. As well, whereas in the past, an average retirement extended for roughly a decade, today, a retirement could last as long as twenty-five to thirty years, with attendant cost pressures on retirement funds. This in turn will increase the burden on the rising generation, who will have to pay for those pensions. But while government has a role to play, retirees also have to be more active in planning for their retirement, and in particular, planning for second careers, rather than simple retirement. Government can assist here by developing programs to help military personel find a second career, thus reducing their reliance on pension funds, and reducing financial pressures too. As well, such planning would emphasize and enhance self-reliance, which can only be to the good of the larger society.

  • Methods for mixing variable types of steel fibers have been developed recently to suppress outbreak of crack or to control the width of crack and improve the load resistible capacity at the same time. On the other hand, uncertainty by complex nature of destruction dynamics of steel fiber reinforced concrete(SFRC) is included. In this study, analysis of reliance considering uncertainty of SFRC beam is done. For this, intensity limit state model was proposed. Moreover, characteristic values about almost every kinds of probability variables were collected and presented according to home and foreign references. Process of improving uncertainty from the result of experiments by Bayseian updating method is also proposed on the purpose of offering better statistical characteristic values with more data in the new future.   • Human errors have known as a majority of maritime navigational accidents such as collision and grounding. A large number of relevant research applied indirect research methods such as survey and interview. The research methods are limited to collect objective data regarding human errors due to its nature. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to improve the limitation of human error measurement of navigators by applying wearable sensors. Infrared sensors by using a 3-D printer to accommodate the special environment of a ship were developed for the study. As results, a significant reliance on the Integrated Navigation System including Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) and Radar. The results are expected to motivate further research to investigate human errors of ship navigators to reduce the maritime navigational accidents.
