유지용수 공급형 인공저수지의 수질오염부하 특성 연구 (Characterization of Water Pollution Load in an Artificial Lake Irregularly Receiving River Water)

  • 농업 및 위락용으로 유지용수를 공급받는 군산 미제저수지의 수질 및 퇴적물 오염현황을 파악하고 퇴적물용출, 비점 오염원 및 외부공급수 등 세가지 영양염 유입경로별 오염부하를 비교 분석하였다. 수질분석결과 하절기에 수질이 크게 저하되고 부영양화에 따른 녹조현상이 가장 활발히 나타났으며, 부영양화지수 TSI (secchi depth)는 53.6, TSI (chlorophyll-a)은 57.7 및 TSI (TP)도 56.7로 모두 50 이상의 부영양호 상태를 보였다. 퇴적물오염도 조사결과 조사시기(계절)별 퇴적물 총질소(T-N)함량, 총인(T-P)함량 및 유기물함량의 각 평균은 통계학적으로 유의한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났으나 시료채취 지점별 평균은 유의한 차이를 나타내 공간적 변화가 뚜렷하였다. 반면, T-N 및 T-P 퇴적물용출율결과는 공간적변화보다 시기별 변화가 뚜렷하였다. 수질 및 퇴적물 데이터의 상관성분석결과, 수질 T-N은 퇴적물 T-N함량 및 퇴적물 유기물함량과 통계학적으로 유의한 상관관계가 있었으나 수질 T-P는 통계학적으로 상관성을 보이는 인자가 확인되지 않았고 퇴적물 영양염 용출율 역시 수질과 통계학적으로 상관성을 보이는 인자가 확인되지 않았다. 미제저수지내 유입경로별 영양염오염부하 산정결과, T-N의 경우 외부 공급수에 의한 오염부하가 월등히 높게 나타났고 T-P의 경우 퇴적물용출부하와 외부 공급수 유입부하는 유사하고 비점유입부하가 상대적으로 적게 나타났다. 미제저수지의 수질개선을 위해서는 영양염오염부하가 상대적으로 높은 외부 공급수(금강호 양수)에 대한 대책이 우선적으로 수립되어야 하며 아울러, 퇴적물로부터 T-P용출을 저감시키는 수질오염저감대책이 필요한 것으로 판단된다.

옥정호의 효율적인 수질관리방안 (A Scheme of Effective Water Quality Management on Lake Okjeoung)

  • 옥정호에 대한 수질변화 조사 자료를 토대로 수질모의를 실시하였으며, 그 결과 바탕으로 효율적인 댐저수지 수질관리 방안을 제시하였다. 옥정호의 수질은 계절에 다라 중영양상태와 부영양상태를 나타내는 것으로 평가되었으며 이러한 수질상태는 외부로부터 유입되는 오염원에 많은 영향을 받게 되므로 우선 유역으로부터 유입되는 오염부하의 정확한 산정이 필요한 것으로 평가되었다. 1999년에 조사한 7차례의 강우기간 중 총 부하와 일년간 발생한 총 부하를 비교하면 강우량은 17.5%인데 비해 SS는 72.8%, TN과 TP는 약 50%가 강우기에 유입되는 것으로 조상되었다. 또한 퇴적물의 용출율은 TP의 경우 가두리 양식장이 운영되던 지점에서는 11.92 mg/L, 정기수질 조사지점에서 0.2∼1.9 mg/L로 국내·외 자료와 비교하여 용출율이 작은 것으로 나타났다. 댐저수지 수질관리 방안 수립을 위하여 WASP5 모형을 적용하였으며 검증된 결과를 이용하여 각 소유역에서 오염부하 삭감에 따른 6가지 방안에 대한 수질모의를 실시하였고 각각에 대한 수질개선 효과를 제시하였다. 가장 효율적인 방안은 임실천 유역과 관촌교 유역의 오염부하를 제어하는 방안으로 평가되었으며, 가장 수질개선효과가 좋은 것은 대표 세유역의 오염부하를 제어하는 것으로 나타났다. 이를 바탕으로 수질개선을 위한 하·폐수처리장의 건설 적지를 제시하였다.

VCM 액추에이터의 전자기력을 이용한 HDD 래치 설계 (A HDD Latch Design Using Electro-magnetic Force of VCM Actuators)

  • Various types of latch designs for hard disk drives using load/unload mechanism have been introduced to protect undesired release motions of a voice coil motor(VCM) actuator from sudden disturbances. Recently, various inertia-type latches have been widely used because locking performance is better than that of other types of latch. However there has been a limit in the inertia type in order to guarantee perfect latch and unlatch operations because of changes in latch/unlatch conditions due to mechanical tolerance and temperature-dependent friction. In this paper, a reliable and robust magnetic latch mechanism is proposed through only simple modifications of coil and yoke shapes in order to overcome the mechanical limit of current inertia-type latches. This new magnetic latch does not have only a simple structure but it also ensures reliable operations and anti-shock performance. The operating mechanism of the proposed latch is theoretically analyzed and optimally designed using an electromagnetic simulation.

농도성충화가 DME HCCI 엔진의 운전 영역 확장에 미치는 영향에 관한 수치해석 연구 (Effect of the Fuel Stratification on the Operating Range for a DME HCCI Engine based on Numerical Analysis)

  • The operating range of HCCI engine is narrow due to excessive rate of pressure rise on high load. The fuel stratification is proposed to solve the problem. The purpose of this study is to gain a better understanding of the effects of fuel stratification on reducing the pressure-rise rate at high load in HCCI combustion and to investigate that the operating range is expanded for fuel stratification in the preceding condition of initial temperature and equivalence ratios. The engine is fueled with Di-Methyl Ether (DME) which has unique 2-stage heat release. The computations were conducted using SENKIN application of the CHEMKINll kinetics rate code. Calculation result shows that proper fuel stratification prolongs combustion duration and reduce pressure rise rate.

Performance analysis of a 746 W HTS generator equipped with 70 A class contactless superconducting field exciter

  • This paper presents the analysis results on the electrical output performance characteristics of a 746 W high temperature superconducting generator (HTSG). The HTS field winding is charged by non-contact excitation method, i.e., contactless superconducting field exciter (CSFE) which is originated by rotary flux pump based on permanent magnet. In this paper, the preliminary current charging test was carried out using a 70 A CSFE to evaluate the performance of field exciter and analyze its non-contact excitation characteristics for the full-scale HTS field winding of the 746 W HTSG. First, the various contactless current-charging tests were conducted using assembly with HTS field winding and CSFE. Then, in order to estimate the output power performance characteristics of the 746 W HTSG, finite element analysis was conducted based on field excitation information which is experimentally measured under various operating conditions. Finally, the electrical output characteristics in no-load and load models were simulated by two-dimensional transient solver in ANSYS electromagnetics 19.0 release.

하수처리장 건설에 의한 마산만의 오염물질 수지변화 (Pollutant Budget Change Due to Construction of Wastewater Treatment Plant in Masan Bay)

  • 마산만의 오염물질 수지변화를 파악하여 하수처리장 건설 효과를 정량적으로 분석하였다. 하수처리장 건설에 의한 유역의 오염부하량 삭감효과는 명확한 것으로 추정되었으나, 해역의 수질개선에 미치는 영향은 그에 상응하는 오염부하량 증가로 인하여 뚜렷하게 효과를 보이고 있지 않은 것으로 추정되었다. 하수처리장 건설에 의한 마산만(I 영역)의 오염부하량 삭감효과는 COD, SS, TN, TP 항목의 경우 각각 17.6%, 68.9%, 66.7%, 38%에 해당된다. 반면, 진해만 북부 방류해역(II 영역)은 하수처리장 방류수의 직접적인 오염부하와 오염된 퇴적물에 의한 용출부하(간접적인 효과)가 가중되고 있다. 따라서, 하수처리장 건설로 인하여 방류해역의 환경은 오히려 악화되어 가고 있는 것으로 파악되었다.

Susceptibility of Nereocystis luetkeana (Laminariales, Ochrophyta) and Eualaria fistulosa (Laminariales, Ochrophyta) spores to sedimentation

  • The establishment of algal spores plays an essential role in adult kelp distribution and abundance patterns. Sedimentation is a key variable regulating algal spore settlement and success, possibly controlling species-specific dominance $in$ $situ$. Laboratory experiments were used to determine spore attachment and survival rates of two Alaskan canopy-forming kelps, $Nereocystis$ $luetkeana$ (K. Mertens) Postels & Ruprecht and $Eualaria$ $fistulosa$ (Postels & Ruprecht) M. J. Wynne, to various types of sediment loading. Spore attachment for both species was significantly and similarly affected by three sediment treatments: suspended particles; settled sediment covering the substratum; and smothering of attached spores by settling sediment. Spore attachment decreased by approximately 90% at 420 mg sediment $L^{-1}$, the highest sediment load tested here, under all three treatments for both species. These results suggest that increases in sedimentation may constrain the success of the spore stages, but sediment does not seem to be a likely factor explaining species-specific distribution patterns. However, while sedimentation affected spores of both species similarly, timing of spore release in relation to times of maximum sediment load in the water might differ for different species, possibly explaining kelp species distribution patterns.

자연흡기식 디젤 기관의 연소와 매연 배출 특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (A Study on the Combustion and Smoke Emission Characteristics of the Natural Aspiration Type Diesel Engine)

  • We made a selection of engine operating conditions in the natural aspiration type diesel engine as load and speed. The effects on the power, smoke emission and cylinder pressure characteristics of these variations in operating conditions were observed experimentally. Also, the smoke emission was predicted by using the Arrhenius equation and empirical equation of the smoke emission was made. At the same time, the correlations, between the combustion and smoke emission characteristic were examined. From the above results, it is clear that to prevent power dropping and to decrease exhaust fume whin the conditions are changed, one should improve the intake system. To do this, the best way is to lower the air-fuel mixing ratio. We found that the parameters of the indicated mean effective pressure, maximum pressure and its location and combustion duration, etc. change the motion in accordance with the conditions described above. Also, we found that the variation of the pressure cycle comes from an amplified variation of the early part of process. From the analysis of comparing combustion and exhaust fume, the exhaust fume is produced at the latter time of combustion and decreased when the combustion ratio is higher. Also, we developed a special formula which can predict the exhaust fume value according to the engine load and speed.

스파크 점화 엔진에서 희박연소의 전자제어 히스테리시스 현상에 관한 실험적 연구 (A Experimental Study on the Electronic Control Hysteresis Phenomenon of Lean Burn in Spark Ignition Engine)

  • Recently it is strongly required on lower fuel consumption. lower exhaust emission, higher engine performance. and social demands in a spark ignition gasoline engine. In this study. the experimental engine used at test. it has been modified the lean burn gasoline engine. and used the programmable engine management system, and connected the controller circuit which is designed for the engine control. At the parametric study of the engine experiment, it has been controlled with fuel injection, ignition timing. swirl mode, equivalence ratio engine dynamometer load and speed as the important factors governing the engine performance adaptively. It has been found the combustion characteristics to overcome the hysteresis phenomena between normal and lean air-fuel mixing ranges. by mean of the look-up table set up the mapping values. at the optimum conditions during the engine operation. As the result, it is found that the strength of the swirl flow with the variation of engine speed and load is effective on combustion characteristics to reduce the bandwidth of the hysteresis regions. The results show that mass fraction burned and heat release rate pattern with crank angle are reduced much rather, and brake specific fuel consumption is also reduced simultaneously.

디젤엔진에서 경유-CNG 혼합 연소의 성능 및 배기 특성 (Performance and Emission Characteristics of Dual-fuel(Diesel-CNG) Combustion in a Diesel Engine)

  • This paper describes an investigation of the performance and emission characteristics of a commercial cylinder direct injection diesel engine operating on natural gas with pilot diesel ignition. Engine tests for variations in the pilot injection timing were performed at an engine speed of 1500 rpm. This study showed that the performance of the dual-fuel diesel engine increased as the engine load increased and as the pilot diesel injection timing angle advanced. The peaks of cylinder pressure, pressure rise rate, and heat release rate all increased while the fuel ignition timing advanced with the pilot injection timing. The engine operation was stable, and the least smoke was produced at a pilot injection timing of $12^{\circ}$ before top dead center. NOx emissions were only exhausted under high-load conditions, and they increased as the pilot injection timing angle advanced.
