  • HCCI 엔진은 고효율, 저공해를 실현할 수 있는 차세대 내연기관이다. 그러나 HCCI 엔진이 상용화되기 위해서는 몇 가지 문제점들이 해결되어야 한다. 그 중에서 가장 큰 문제점은 과도한 압력 상승률이 노킹을 발생시키기 때문에 운전영역이 제한되는 것이다. 이번 연구의 목적은 HCCI 엔진에서 압력상승률 저감을 위하여 온도 성층화와 농도 성층화 효과를 조사하는 것이다. 그리고 Multi-zone 모델을 이용한 화학반응 수치해석을 통하여 연소 및 배기가스 특성에 미치는 영향을 알아보았다. 수치해석에서 2 단계 열발생을 가지는 DME와 1단계 열발생을 가지는 메탄을 사용하였다.

낙동강 하구호에서의 인의 용출특성 (Release Characteristics of Phosphorus in Nakdong Estuary Barrage)

  • 낙동강 하구호의 수질관리 모델링을 위한 인자중의 하나를 구하기 위해 하구호내의 저층 적물로부터의 인의 용출특성에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 저질에 존재하는 POP와 PIP의 총인에 대한 존재비율은 각각 $34.7\%,\;65.7\%$이었고, 대부분의 PIP 는 NAI-P($61.1\%$)와 Apatite-P($30.0\%$)의 형태로 존재하였다. 회분식 반응조를 이용하여 수온과 용존산소의 환경조건에 따라 산출한 인의 용출속도는, 높은 수온과 혐기적 조건에서는 $39.4mg/m^2/d$로 저질로부터 많은 양이 용출되며, 낮은 수온과 호기적 조건에서는 $-4.4mg/m^2/d$로 수층으로 부터 제거되는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과에서 낙동강 하구호내의 저질이 인의 내부부하원으로 작용할 가능성이 매우 크며 하구호의 인 농도 증가에 직접적인 영향을 끼치고 있음을 알 수 있다.

  • 일반적으로 큐브위성용 전개형 태양전지판을 수납 및 전개시키기 위해 사용되는 구속분리장치는 비폭발식 나일론선 절단방식이 적용된다. 그러나 상기 방식은 태양전지판 수납 상태에서 큐브위성의 배터리 충전, PCB 및 탑재체의 전기적 점검 및 시험 등을 위한 접근 포트 연결 시 분리장치의 구속해제 및 재채결 작업이 반복적으로 요구된다. 따라서, 기존의 구속분리장치는 위성체 내부 접근을 위해서는 작업자의 번거로움 및 일관된 나일론선 체결작업 공정 유지의 어려움이 존재한다. 본 연구에서는 나일론 선 절단 없이 구속 핀 분리만으로 자유롭게 태양전지판 전개 및 수납이 가능한 Pin-puller형 태양전지판 구속분리장치를 제안하였으며, 기능 및 성능검증을 위한 분리장치의 전개시험 및 최대 분리하중 측정 시험을 통해 분리장치 설계의 유효성을 입증하였다.

철도 차량 화재시 화재강도 예측을 위한 연구 (A Study on the Prediction of Fire Load in case of a Train Fire)

  • Most of train fires which occur in usual cases do not grow up significantly on a large scale enough to bring about casualties and harmful damages. However, the consequence of some train fire accidents can be devastating disaster so that it would be even recorded in history in unusual cases. Accordingly, such a probability of fire disaster cannot be ignored in aspect of the railway safety assesment. A scale of injury and damage is very difficult to predict and analyze. Because it is depend on various factors, i.e. fire load, burning period, facilities, environment condition, and so on. Thus, a prediction of fire load could be understood as a one methodology to estimate railway safety assesment. The summation method which is one of them is used to evaluate the overall fire load by assuming that sum of heat release rate per unit area or mass of each composite material equals the total. However, since the train fire is classified into a compartment fire in under-ventilation condition. The summation method do not estimate a fire load completely. In this journal, Various methods to predict fire load are introduced and evaluated. Especially the fire simulation tool FDS(Fire Dynamics Simulator)which is based on the CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) is introduced, too. Through the FDS simulation, numerical analyses for the fire load and flame spread are performed. Then, these results of the simulation are validated through the comparison study with the experimental data. Then, limitations and approximations including in simulation process are discussed. The future direction of research is proposed.

  • The problem of scheduling n-jobs on m-uniform parallel machines is considered, in which each job has a release time, a deadline, and a processing requirement. The job processing requirements are allocated to the machines so that the maximum of the load differences between time periods is minimized. Based on Federgruen's maximum flow network model to find a feasible schedule, a polynomially bounded algorithm is developed. An example to show the effectiveness of our algorithm is presented.

  • Side Buffer with Anti-Climber is absorber and anti climber during impact. The Overload Protection Device protects the car underframe from being damaged in case of release of the overload protection. In case of heavy impacts(60 ton), the load is converted into deformation energy by plastic deformation of the tear-off bolts This paper describes a study on this function applied for Side Buffer and Overload Protection Device.

  • The heat transfer and thermal stress analysis was performed on the ceramic core of the matrix-type recuperator. The efficiency was calculated as 34% to 65%. Triple-pass arrangement provided higher preheated air temperatures, lower thermal stresses and the increase of pressure drops. Higher temperature gradients and maximum peak stresses appeared on the corners of the ceramic core. The effect of boundary conditions was significant and the use of spring-load sealing mechanism could release thermal stresses.

  • A clutch hydraulic system for automotive manual transmissions transfers hydraulic pressure generated by driver's pedal manipulation to the clutch mechanism. The foot effort when the clutch pedal is pushed is different than that when the clutch is returned. The effort or load difference, called hysteresis, is caused by the friction produced between rubber seal and inner wall inside the hydraulic cylinder. This clutch pedal travel foot effort hysteresis is essential for a clutch hydraulic system design and analysis. The dynamic model for a clutch hydraulic system is developed and a simulation analysis is performed to estimate the fiction coefficient as a function of the cylinder pressure. The simulation result is then compared to the measurements obtained from a clutch hydraulic system tester to ensure the reliability of the dynamic model and the coefficients estimated. Also the estimated friction coefficients at various pressure values are compared to those reported by an independent study.

  • In order to reduce exhaust emissions from diesel engine under wide operating range, an experimental study based on a new concept of combustion called HCDC(Homogeneous Charge Diesel Combustion) was conducted. In this concept, most of the fuel is supplied as premixed homogeneous charge and the rest is directly injected into a cylinder to ignite. In this study we compared combustion characteristics of an HCDC engine with those of conventional diesel engines. At high premixed fuel ratio and high load range, it was observed that premixed combustion heat release rate was low and diffusion combustion duration was shorten. from this experiment, it was found that NOx is reduced by the lower maximum temperature and soot is reduced by rapid combustion during diffusion combustion phase.
