협력 무선인지 네트워크에서의 보안 채널 용량 분석 (On the Secrecy Capacity in Cooperative Cognitive Radio Networks)

  • 본 논문에서는 면허 사용자와 감청 사용자가 존재하는 인지무선 네트워크에서 릴레이 선택 기능을 이용한 물리 계층 보안 시스템을 제안하고 성능을 분석한다. 먼저 감청에 대한 보안성 확보를 위해 수신기 측에서의 채널 정보를 이용하는 기회적 최적 릴레이 선택 방법과 다중 안테나 다이버지시티를 이용하는 시스템을 제안한다. 이러한 시스템에서 인지무선 네트워크의 보안 outage 확률을 정의하고 수학적으로 정확한 확률 식을 유도한다. 아울러 송신전력에 제한이 없는 경우에 대한 점근적 outage 확률을 구한다. 수치 해석 결과를 제시함으로써 유도한 확률식의 정확성을 검증한다.

BLUE-Based Channel Estimation Technique for Amplify and Forward Wireless Relay Networks

  • The best linear unbiased estimator (BLUE) is most suitable for practical application and can be determined with knowledge of only the first and second moments of the probability density function. Although the BLUE is an existing algorithm, it is still largely unexplored and has not yet been applied to channel estimation in amplify and forward (AF)-based wireless relay networks (WRNs). In this paper, a BLUE-based algorithm is proposed to estimate the overall channel impulse response between the source and destination of AF strategy-based WRNs. Theoretical mean square error (MSE) performance for the BLUE is derived to show the accuracy of the proposed channel estimation algorithm. In addition, the Cram$\acute{e}$r-Rao lower bound (CRLB) is derived to validate the MSE performance. The proposed BLUE channel estimation algorithm approaches the CRLB as the length of the training sequence and number of relays increases. Further, the BLUE performs better than the linear minimum MSE estimator due to the minimum variance characteristic exhibited by the BLUE, which happens to be a function of signal-to-noise ratio.

Inter-clustering Cooperative Relay Selection Schemes for 5G Device-to-device Communication Networks

  • The ongoing adoption of 5G will increase the data traffic, throughput, multimedia services, and power consumption for future wireless applications and services, including sensor and mobile networks. Multipath fading on wireless channels also reduces the system performance and increases energy consumption. To address these issues, device-to-device (D2D) and cooperative communications have been proposed. In this study, we propose two inter-clustering models using the relay selection method to improve system performance and increase energy efficiency in cooperative D2D networks. We develop two inter-clustering models and present their respective algorithms. Subsequently, we run a computer simulation to evaluate each model's outage probability (OP) performance, throughput, and energy efficiency. The simulation results show that inter-clustering model II has the lowest OP, highest throughput, and highest energy efficiency compared with inter-clustering model I and the conventional inter-clustering-based multirelay method. These results demonstrate that inter-clustering model II is well-suited for use in 5G overlay D2D and cellular communications.

  • 이동성이 있는 센서 노드로 구성 된 센서 네트워크를 효율적으로 사용하기 위하여 고려해야 할 사항 중 중요한 것이 자원의 효율적인 사용과 신호를 빠르고 정확하게 보내는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 무선 센서 네트워크 내에서 SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio)과 릴레이 노드의 신호 증폭률 그리고 노드와 노드 간 직접적으로 통신하는 경우 경로의 이득의 변화에 따른 무선 센서 네트워크의 특성에 대하여 분석하고 다수의 협동 릴레이 노드가 존재할 때 선택기준을 제시하고 이에 따른 영향을 정량적으로 평가하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 UWB 기술 기반 WiMedia 무선 USB Distributed Medium Access Control (D-MAC) 프로토콜의 공평하고 분산적인 SoQ기반 Distributed Reservation Protocol (DRP) 타임슬롯 자원 할당 방법의 성능을 분석하고, DRP 예약 충돌을 회피하기 위해 릴레이 통신 기술을 적용한 SoQ 릴레이 전송 프로토콜을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 SoQ 릴레이 전송 프로토콜은 Satisfaction of QoS (SoQ) 알고리즘을 각 단말 디바이스에서 분산적으로 실행하고, 충돌대상 디바이스에게 예약된 QoS 자원을 유지할 수 있도록 Direct Link 뿐만 아니라 릴레이 노드를 경유하여 또 다른 Indirect Link 링크를 예약할 수 있는 자원 예약 프로토콜을 제안한다.

Resource Allocation Algorithm Based on Simultaneous Wireless Information and Power Transfer for OFDM Relay Networks

  • A resource allocation algorithm based on simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) to maximize the system throughput is proposed in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) relay networks. The algorithm formulates the problem under the peak power constraints of the source and each subcarrier (SC), and the energy causality constraint of the relay. With the given SC allocation of the source, we give and prove the optimal propositions of the formulated problem. Then, the formulated problem could be decomposed into two separate throughput maximization sub-problems by setting the total power to transfer energy. Finally, several SC allocation schemes are proposed, which are energy priority scheme, information priority scheme, balanced allocation scheme and exhaustive scheme. The simulation results reveal that the energy priority scheme can significantly reduce computational complexity and achieve approximate performance with the exhaustive scheme.

  • This paper describes the correction of overcurrent protective relaying set value in distribution networks interconnected with wind farm by dedicated line. The wind farm composed of wind turbine generators is one of the great energy sources; however, it would be also highly possible that the current in the point of common coupling is influenced by the output power of wind farm. So, the overcurrent relay applied in distribution feeders might generate trip signal for normal operation. In order to prevent the mal-operation of overcurrent relay, it is necessary to correct the relay's setting value according to the output power of end farm. This paper presents the influence of wind farm on the overcurrent relaying set value in distribution feeders for cases of fault as well as normal operation and proposes the basic strategy for correction of overcurrent relaying set value.

A Spectrally Efficient Macrodiversity Handover Technique for Interference-Limited IEEE 802.16j Multihop Wireless Relay Networks

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient macrodiversity handover (MDHO) technique for time-division-based interference-limited IEEE 802.16j multihop wireless relay networks. In the proposed MDHO, when the diversity set members of the mobile station (MS) are a base station (BS) and relay station (RS), the MS receives the signal transmitted by the BS in the first phase. During the second phase, it also receives the simultaneous transmissions of the BS and RS. Furthermore, when the diversity set members are two RSs or two BSs, the MS receives only the simultaneous transmissions of the diversity set members. The superiority of the proposed MDHO is validated using analytical and simulation results. The performance analysis metrics are the average downlink (DL) carrier to interference and noise ratio (CINR), the average DL spectral efficiency, and the average service outage probability. Evaluation results show that the proposed MDHO significantly outperforms the conventional MDHO. The CINR gain achieved using the proposed MDHO is 4.71 dB compared to the conventional MDHO.

Robust Relay Design for Two-Way Multi-Antenna Relay Systems with Imperfect CSI

  • The paper investigates the problem of designing the multiple-antenna relay in a two-way relay network by taking into account the imperfect channel state information (CSI). The objective is to design the multiple-antenna relay based upon the CSI estimates, where the estimation errors are included to attain the robust design under the worst-case philosophy. In particular, the worst-case transmit power at the multiple-antenna relay is minimized while guaranteeing the worst-case quality of service requirements that the received signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at both sources are above a prescribed threshold value. Since the worst-case received SNR expression is too complex for subsequent derivation and processing, its lower bound is explored instead by minimizing the numerator and maximizing the denominator of the worst-case SNR. The aforementioned problem is mathematically formulated and shown to be nonconvex. This motivates the pursuit of semidefinite relaxation coupled with a randomization technique to obtain computationally efficient high-quality approximate solutions. This paper has shown that the original optimization problem can be reformulated and then relaxed to a convex problem that can be solved by utilizing suitable randomization loop. Numerical results compare the proposed multiple-antenna relay with the existing nonrobust method, and therefore validate its robustness against the channel uncertainty. Finally, the feasibility of the proposed design and the associated influencing factors are discussed by means of extensive Monte Carlo simulations.

Swarm Intelligence-based Power Allocation and Relay Selection Algorithm for wireless cooperative network

  • Cooperative communications can significantly improve the wireless transmission performance with the help of relay nodes. In cooperative communication networks, relay selection and power allocation are two key issues. In this paper, we propose a relay selection and power allocation scheme RS-PA-PSACO (Relay Selection-Power Allocation-Particle Swarm Ant Colony Optimization) based on PSACO (Particle Swarm Ant Colony Optimization) algorithm. This scheme can effectively reduce the computational complexity and select the optimal relay nodes. As one of the swarm intelligence algorithms, PSACO which combined both PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization) and ACO (Ant Colony Optimization) algorithms is effective to solve non-linear optimization problems through a fast global search at a low cost. The proposed RS-PA-PSACO algorithm can simultaneously obtain the optimal solutions of relay selection and power allocation to minimize the SER (Symbol Error Rate) with a fixed total power constraint both in AF (Amplify and Forward) and DF (Decode and Forward) modes. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme improves the system performance significantly both in reliability and power efficiency at a low complexity.
