경주 남산 소나무림의 가을철 해발고도별 음이온 발생지수 (Negative Ion Generation Index according to Altitude in the Autumn of Pine Forest in Gyeongju Namsan)

  • 본 연구에서는 경주 남산을 대상으로 지형구조 및 해발고도가 음이온 발생량에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 분석결과, 기온은 능선부($9.82^{\circ}C$) > 계곡부($8.44^{\circ}C$), 상대습도는 계곡부(59.01%) > 능선부(58.64%), 풍속은 능선부(0.63m/s) > 계곡부(0.37m/s), 일사량은 능선부($34.40W/m^2$) > 계곡부($14.69W/m^2$)로 나타났다. 음이온의 경우 계곡부($636.81ea/cm^3$) > 능선부($580.04ea/cm^3$)로 계곡부가 더 높은 음이온 발생량을 보였다. 해발고도와의 상관성 분석 결과, 계곡부에서는 기온, 상대습도, 일사량, 음이온 발생량과의 상관성이 검증되었으며, 상대습도, 일사량, 음이온 발생량과는 정의 상관관계, 기온과 부의 상관관계가 나타났다. 능선부에서는 기온, 상대습도, 풍속, 일사량, 음이온 발생량과의 상관성이 검증되었으며, 상대습도, 일사량, 음이온 발생량과는 정의 상관관계, 기온, 풍속과는 부의 상관관계가 나타났다. 회귀분석 결과, 기온의 경우 계곡부는 y= -0.006x+9.663 (x=해발고도, y=기온), 능선부의 경우 y= -0.009x+11.595(x=해발고도, y=기온)의 예측식을 얻었다. 상대습도의 경우 계곡부는 y= 0.027x+53.561 (x=해발고도, y=상대습도), 능선부의 경우 y= 0.008x+56.646 (x=해발고도, y=상대습도)의 예측식을 얻었다. 음이온 발생량의 경우 계곡부는 y= 0.577x+521.508 (x=해발고도, y=음이온 발생량), 능선부의 경우 y= 0.605x+549.068 (x=해발고도, y=음이온 발생량)의 예측식을 얻었다.

Thermodynamic non-equilibrium and anisotropy in Mars atmosphere entry

  • Mars exploration demands aerodynamic computations for a proper design of missions of spacecraft carrying instruments and astronauts to Mars. Both Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) method play a key role for this purpose. To the author's knowledge, the altitude separating the fields of applicability of CFD and DSMC in Mars atmosphere entry is not yet clearly defined. The limitations in using DSMC at low altitudes are due to technical limitations of the computer. The limitations in using CFD at high altitudes are due to thermodynamic non-equilibrium. Here, this problem is studied in Mars atmosphere entry, considering the Mars Pathfinder capsule in the altitude interval 40-80 km, by means of a DSMC code. Non-equilibrium is quantified by the relative differences between translational temperature and: rotational (θt-r), vibrational (θt-v), overall (θt-ov) temperatures, anisotropy is quantified by the relative difference between the translational temperature component along x and those along y (θx-y) and along z (θx-z). The results showed that θt-r, θt-v, θx-y, θx-z are almost equivalent. The altitude of 45 km should be the limit altitude for a proper use of a CFD code and the altitude of 40 km should be the limit altitude for a reasonable use of a DSMC code.

  • DGPS는 GPS위성배열의 기하학적인 특성에 따라 수평면 정확도에 비해 고도 정확도가 좋지 않다. DGPS고도를 보정하기위해 두 개의 기압고도계를 사용하였고 각각 이동국과 기준국에 설치하여 차분된 고도를 얻어냈다. 이 차분된 고도는 DGPS 고도측정치와 칼만필터로 결합하여 향상된 고도를 추정한다. 이와 같은 차분된 고도는 기존의 상대고도에 기반을 두고 있지만 압력 고도가 아닌 절대고도를 주는 것에 차이가 있다. 또한 기저선의 변화에 따라 차분된 고도가 얼마나 정확성을 갖고 있는지 실제 실험을 통해 확인한다.

한라산 5.16 도로변에 분포하는 딱정벌레류(類)의 월별과 고도별 군집 분석 (Spatial and Temporal Analysis of the Coleopteran Communities around 5.16 Road of Mt. Halla, Jeju Island, Korea)

  • The field survey was conducted weekly from April to October in 2004 and 2005 on the sites along the 5.16 road. Sampling sites were made every 100 m height starting from 250 m altitude of both sides of Mt. Halla along 5.16 Road, which crosses the mountain from North to South. Totally 31,698 individuals of 76 species belonged to 25 families were collected. It was July that showed the largest number of species, as 48 species in the northern sloper 42 in the southern slope, and 22 at the highest site (at an altitude of 750 m), while it was April that showed the smallest as 17 species, 15 and 5, respectively. As for monthly fluctuation, the northern slope and the highest site reached their top in August, whereas it was June in the southern slope. In the analyses of similarity (chord distance) of any pair of temporal communities, the closest pair was between June and July in the northern slope area, between July and August in the southern slope and between July and September at the highest site, respectively.

항공관제 시스템에서 항공기 공중충돌 경고기능의 설계 및 구현 (The Design and Implementation of the Collision Avoidance Warning Function in the Air Traffic Control System)

  • An aircraft collision accident is a disaster that causes great losses of inventories and lives. Though a collision avoidance warning function is provided automatically to pilots in the aircrafts by the enhancement of the aircraft capability, achieving fast decision-making to escape a collision situation is a complex and dangerous work for pilots. If an in-flight collision situation is controlled by the air traffic control system which monitors all airplanes in the air, it would be more efficient to prevent in-flight collisions because it can handle the emergency before the pilot's action. In this paper, we develop the collision avoidance warning function in the air traffic control system. Specifically, we design and implement the five stages of the collision avoidance function, and propose a visualization method which could effectively provide the operators with the trajectories and altitudes of the aircrafts in a collision situation. By developing an in-flight collision warning function in the air traffic control system that visualizes flight patterns through the state transition data of in-flight aircrafts on the flight path lines, it can effectively prevent in-flight collisions with traffic alerts. The developed function allows operators to effectively select and control the aircraft in a collision situation by providing the operators with the expected collision time, the relative distance, and the relative altitude while assessing the level of alert, and visualizing the alert information which includes the Attention-Warning-Alert phase via embodying the TCAS standard. With the developed function the air traffic control system could sense an in-flight collision situation before the pilot's decision-making moment.

  • Performance and efficiency of hybrid (hydraulic-mechanical) pick-up device of deep sea manganese nodules collector are very sensitive to altitude and altitude of pick-up head relative to undulating seafloor. For this reason, motion control of pick-up head relative to the changing deep sea topography and other disturbances is of particular importance in design of pick-up device. The concept of design axiom is applied to a pick-up device of hybrid type. Kinematic analysis conducted in absolute Cartesian coordinates gives position, velocity, and acceleration of the hydraulic cylinders which enable the pick-up head to keep the preset optimal distance from seafloor. Inverse dynamic analysis provides the driving forces of hydraulic cylinders and the reaction forces at each joint. Design sensitivity analysis is performed in order to investigate the effects of possible design variables on the change of the maximum strokes of hydraulic cylinders. The direct differentiation method is used to obtain the design sensitivity coefficients.

고해상도 상대습도 모의를 위한 농산촌 지역의 수증기압 분석 (An Analysis of Water Vapor Pressure to Simulate the Relative Humidity in Rural and Mountainous Regions)

  • 농산촌 지역 단일 집수역인 전남 구례군 간전면 중대리계곡과 경남 하동 악양면에서 각각 6지점과 14지점의 기상관측자료를 수집하여 복잡지형에서의 수증기압 및 상대습도 분포를 분석하였다. 중대리계곡에서는 2014년 12월 19일부터 2015년 11월 23일까지, 악양계곡에서는 2012년 8월 15일부터 2013년 8월 18일까지 가장 고밀도로 측정한 시기의 매시 기온과 습도(지면 위 1.5m)를 이용, 농업기상재해 조기경보시스템에서 사용되고 있는 기존의 수증기압 추정방식과 실제 수증기압을 비교하였다. 관측한 수증기압의 해발고도에 따른 기울기는 시간대(0300, 0600, … 2400 LST)에 따라 변동되었고, 야간일수록 위 아래의 수증기압차가 증대되었다. 지형·지표 조건이 다양한 악양계곡 관측 지점에서는 해발고도 외의 요인으로 인한 수증기압 변이가 지점별로 시간대에 따라 다르게 나타났다. 실제에 더 가까운 수증기압 및 상대습도 추정을 위해, 연구 대상지역의 관측자료로 해발고도 편차 당 수증기압 변화를 조정하는 계수를 도출하였다. 상대습도는 포화수증기압 대비 추정된 수증기압으로 모의하였으며, 조기경보시스템에서 사용된 기존 방법보다 도출된 계수를 활용한 추정방식에서 오차가 더 개선되었음을 확인하였다.

고산지대 초지에서 생산된 화본과목초의 사료가치 (Forage Quality of Several Grasses Grown ay a High Altitude Pasture)

  • Forage quality evaluation with several grasses grown at a high altitude pasture situated at 1,000m above sea level was made to determine what is the feed value of these grasses and whether these grasses have any differences in forage quality compared with the grdsses grown at lowland pastures. In this experiment, Common, Venture, and Palaton reed canarygrass (Phahris arundinucea L.) and Climax timothy (Phleum pratense L.) were used and harvested at two different dates, 5 July and 30 September, 1989. Cmde protein (CP) concentrations in the grasses grown in September were higher than in July. Among the grasses grown, Palaton and Common reed canarygrass were highest in CP concentration in July and September, respectively. Acid detergent fiber (ADF) and neutral detergent fiber (NDF) concentrations in the grasses harvested in July were higher than in September. Palaton reed canruygrass was lowest in ADF and NDF concentrations at the both harvest dates. Relative feed value (RFV) in the grases harvested in July was ranged from 92 to 105 and that in September was from 110 to 117. Palation reed canarygrass had the highest RFV of 105 and 117 in July and September, respectively, therefore, the forage quality of this grass was ranked as Grade 2 based on the AFGC Hay Quality Standards. Overall forage quality of the grasses grown at a high altitude pasture seemed to be higher than the forage quality at lowland pastures. Based on the RFV assigned by the AFGC, forages with RFV 92 to 117 in this experiment could only work well in rations for low producing dairy cows.

소형 초음속 디퓨저를 이용한 고고도환경 모사에 대한 시험적 연구 (Experimental Study of High-Altitude Simulation using Small-Scale Supersonic Diffuser)

  • Experimental study was conducted on cylindrical supersonic diffuser in order to investigate the effects of the ratios of diffuser area to nozzle throat area (Ad/At), diffuser area to nozzle exit area (Ad/Ae), nozzle exit area to its throat area (Ae/At), and diffuser length to its diameter (L/D), the free volume of vacuum chamber, and the relative distance between nozzle exit and diffuser inlet on the diffuser performance. The study showed that the minimum diffuser starting pressure (Po/Pa)st increased monotonically with increase in (Ad/At) as predicted by the normal shock and momentum theory models and the volume of vacuum chamber affected vacuum pressure level during diffuser operation at lower value of (Ad/Ae). The results of this investigation will be utilized in the design of real-scale high-altitude simulation test facility.

성층권 통신시스템의 경제성 분석 (An Analysis on the Economic Evaluation of the HAPS System)

  • HAPS (High Altitude Platform Station) which is defined as a station located on an object at an altitude of 20 to 50 km and at a specified, nominal, fixed point relative to the earth is a promising technology capable of providing broadband multimedia services. In this study, economical aspects of HAPS service are analyzed by estimating the revenue and costs incurred by the service. To evaluate the profitability of HAPS service, the number of subscribers is estimated and then the net present value (NPV), payback period, and the rate of return on investment (ROI) are calculated under various scenarios.
