  • We derived a length-weight relationship for Calanus sinicus off Busan, Korea in spring to estimate the biomass of the C. sinicus population around Korean waters, and compared it with the previously derived equations. The developmental stages and prosome length of C. sinicus used in the relationship ranged from 1,376-1,540 ㎛ for copepodite 4 (CIV), 1,753-1,971 ㎛ for copepodite 5 (CV), and 2,160-2,283 ㎛ for adults (CVI). Dry weight and carbon content were measured from a total of 26 replicates. Length-weight relationships derived in the present study are as follows: log C = 3.342 log PL - 9.449, log DW = 3.394 log PL -9.219, where C is carbon content (㎍), DW is dry weight (㎍), and PL is prosome length (㎛). When comparing the present regression equation of length-weight for C. sinicus with the previous one, our regression equation showed an average carbon estimate to a given range of mean prosome length. The length-weight relationship of C. sinicus in the present study can be used to better estimate the biomass of the C. sinicus population in the coastal waters of Korea.

  • In today's highly competitive and fast changing business environment, key account management-a supplier company initiated relationship marketing approach targeted at the most important customers to solve their complex requirements with special treatment that eventually ensures both parties' financial and nonfinancial objectives- has regarded as a strategic weapon of many companies' sales efforts to manage their strategically important customers. On the basis of the existing studies, this research introduces a theoretical model highlighting the hypothetical relationship between key account management performance and repeat order. In addition, moderating effect of length of relationship on the relationship between key account management performance and repeat order is also introduced. We theorize the conditions under which key account management performance influences key customer repeat order behavior as well as the influence of moderating variable of length of relationship on key account management performance-repeat order relationship. Theoretical and managerial implications are provided along with suggestions to isolate a platform for future empirical research.

  • This paper posits that arm's length buyer-supplier relationship as the intermediate type between market exchange relations and strategic partnership might be advisable, and information technology may have a role as a mechanism actualizing the effects of such arm's length relationship by strategic supply-line diversification. Based on the theoretical analysis on interactive feedback relationships among IT level, buyer-supplier relationships, and supply chain structure, we suggest a set of advisable buyer-supplier relationship type for efficient supply chain management. Also, doing so would be helpful in suggesting a dynamic IT investment and adoption model appropriate for the establishment of productive buyer-supplier relationship, and further in providing theoretical foundations and practical guidelines on the role and function of B-to-B E-commerce for efficient SC integration.

  • The freshwater shrimp, Macrobrachium nipponensis is one of the largest species as well as one of the Important types of food. It can be found widely in rivers and swamps from Che-ju island in the south to Chung-ju in the north. The larval development of these shrimps was studied by Yu (1966) and CHUN and YU (1967), but they didn't provide any other features. Shrimps for the present study were collected from the Ntk-Dong River, near Pusan, once each month from March to December 1963. The following is a summary of the results. 1. The relationship between the carapace length (X) and the body length (Y) is: Y=2.68996X+1.14784 in female. Y=2.73121X+1.10827 in male. 2. The relationship between the carapace length(X)_ and tile basipodite length of the 2nd pereiopode (Y) is: Y=0.16910X-0.06422 in female Y=0.19410X-0.06075 in male. 3. The relationship between the carapace length (X) and the ischiorodite length of the 2nd pereiopode (Y) is: Y= 0.48524X-0.10812 in female. Y= 0.69052X-0.28616 in male. 4. The relationship between the carapace length(X) and the meropodite length of the End pereiopode (Y) is: Y=0.51217X-0.04088 in female. Y= 1.9792X-0.98258 in male. 5. • This study examined regarding the moderating effect of length of relationship in the relationship among the antecedent variables (i.e., specific investment, opportunistic behavior, communication, uncertainty, interdependence, power imbalance, shared value, and flexibility) of trust and commitment, trust and commitment and firm performance and relationship satisfaction. A total of 128 apparel manufacturers participated in this study. Flexibility exerted the most positive effect on trust in short-term relationship, followed by specific investment. And opportunistic behavior was found to exert negative effect on trust. Commitment was found to be most negatively affected by power imbalance, followed by interdependence. Trust was shown to be significantly affected by communication, shared value and flexibility in short-term relationship. In the case of long-term relationship, commitment was shown to be significantly affected by uncertainty, interdependence, power imbalance and flexibility. Firm performance was positively affected by both trust and commitment. As for the effect of trust and commitment on relationship satisfaction, relationship satisfaction was also affected by both trust and commitment. In case the length of relationship, firm performance was affected by both trust and commitment. As for the effect of trust and commitment on relationship satisfaction, relationship satisfaction was also affected by both trust and commitment. The result of this research provides valuable data for making a concrete suggestion regarding the strategy for improving trust and commitment for the sake of the desirable relationship between apparel manufacturers and contractors.

  • PURPOSE: This study investigated the relationship among hip adduction angle, tibial rotation, and ITB length during an Ober test to determine the most appropriate position for performing the test. METHODS: The study included thirty-nine asymptomatic participants (23 males, 16 females). Their hip adduction angles were measured using the Ober test during three tibial rotation conditions (internal tibial rotation, external rotation, and neutral position). ITB length was calculated by measuring the position of the patella to lateral femoral condyle using ultrasonography (patella-condyle distance; PCD). RESULTS: The relationship among hip adduction angle, tibial rotation, and ITB length was analyzed under the three conditions using the Pearson correlation. The hip adduction angle of the internal tibial rotation, the external rotation, and the neutral position were significantly related to ITB length. Moreover, the hip adduction angle measured during the internal tibial rotation had the highest correlation with ITB length among the three conditions (r=.58, p<.001). CONCLUSION: Internal tibial rotation caused by the Ober test led to increased iliotibial band (ITB) tension and a decreased adduction angle. These findings support that tibial rotation influences the flexibility of ITB. Therefore, therapists should consider the position of the internal tibial rotation when taking measurements using an Ober test.

  • To clarify the relationship between the medical supply(medical persons and goods) and the use of bed, the author has made comparison among OECD 24 countries. Per Capita Bed-days can be divided into Average Length of Stay and Admission Rate, and these three variables were regressed upon both In-patient Care Beds of all medical institutions including acute somatic, psychiatric, special, nursing homes and other long-term care and Share of Total Health Employment in Total Employment. The result of regression analysis shows a statistically significant positive relationship between In-patient Care Beds and Average Length of Stay, and negative relationship between Share of Total Health Employment and Admission Rate. In addition to Ordinary Least Square(OLS) estimation, amended Bounded Influence Estimation(BIE) was also made to adjust the influence of outliers. Japan shows a very large number of In-patient Care Beds and a very low Share of Total Health Employment, and this medical situation is judged to have close relation to her long Average Length of Stay and low Admission Rate.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate how maximum-effort eccentric exercise over different contraction ranges affects the characteristics of torque-angle relationship of human ankle plantarflexor in-vivo. Subjects were randomly assigned in two groups. One group (n=6) performed 120 maximum-effort eccentric ankle dorsiflexion contractions at short muscle length (ankle range of motion from -5 to 15 deg) and the other group (n=6) at long (ankle range of motion from 10 to 30 deg) muscle length. Eccentric exercise decreased the maximum isometric ankle plantarflexion torque ${\sim}40%$. It was found that the optimum ankle joint angle changed from 7.5 deg to 11.1 deg and 10.1 deg, shifted toward the longer muscle length, regardless of the exercise range. The results of this study suggest that eccentric exercise alters the characteristics of torqueangle relationship of the muscle but there is no differential effect of the eccentric contraction range.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate two components of commitment(affective commitment and calculative commitment) and relational equity on loyalty. In addition, The authors analyzed the moderating effect of length of relationship on the effects of commitments and relational equity on switching intention. Major findings can be summarized as follows. It was found that affective commitment made a negative impact on switching intentions and a positive impact on w-o-m. Calculative commitment had no effect on switching intention and w-o-m while it made a negative effect on w-o-m in handset side only. Relational equity appears to bolster a negative effect on switching intention and a positive effect on w-o-m. Also length of relationship seems to moderate the effect of relational equity on switching intention.
