The purpose of this study was to examine overall customer satisfaction associated with medical service quality in Taiwan by integrated Kano's model and customer satisfaction index model. Another purpose was to confirmed nonlinear and asymmetric relationship of Customer Satisfaction and Quality Performance by the research outcome. By analyzing 1,100 patients or their family members, this study used the structural equation model (SEM) with AMOS software for data analysis. The results show that must-be attributes, one-dimensional attributes and attractive attributes had a direct effect on overall customer satisfaction, Surprisingly, overall customer satisfaction had positively influenced customer loyalty customer satisfaction had negatively influenced customer complaints. The study also found that customer complaints have direct effect on customer loyalty. Importantly, the study found out the must-be attributes, the attractive attributes and one-dimensional attributes increased, the level of overall customer satisfaction also increased. The customer satisfaction positively influences customer loyalty in medical service quality in Taiwan. The findings might reveal new insights for researchers dealing with quality of medical service and for hospital managers who devote resources exclusively to achieving highest possible levels of patient satisfaction.
Purpose - This study aims to examine whether key differences in characteristics of unions have significant implications for absenteeism. To uncover what characteristics of union made workers make decisions to be absent, this study used such key dimensions of unionism as democracy, cooperative strategy of a union, and d density rate. Research design and methodology - The research model of this study is that absenteeism has positive relations with union's democracy and density. But it has negative relations with union cooperative strategy. This study was conducted by survey method on 333local unionized business entities of metal industry in South Korea. Results - The result shows that significant and positive relationship between unions with high density rates, democracy and absenteeism which is in line with the argument of the previous studies. Different from the expectation, the hypotheses 2, it has been shown that there is positive relation between cooperative strategy of union and the decision of workers to be absent. Conclusions - Employers with unions with high density rates could not fully exercise disciplinary power against those workers absent at workplace since a strong union shields them effectively from punishments by employers.
A finite element method is employed fer a flow analysis of the melt spinning process of a non-circular fiber, a PET(polyethylene terephthalate) filament. The flow field is divided into two regions of die channel and spin-line. A two dimensional analysis is used for the flow within the die channel and a three dimensional analysis fur the flow along the spin-line. The Newtonian fluid is assumed for the PET melt and material properties are considered to be constant except for the viscosity. Effects of gravitation, air drag force, and surface tension are neglected. Although the spin-line length is 4.5 m only five millimeters from the spinneret are evaluated as the domain of the analysis. Isothermal and non-isothermal cases are studied fer the flow within the die channel. The relationship between the mass flow rate and the pressure gradient is presented for the two cases. Three dimensional flow along the spin-line is obtained by assuming isothermal conditions. It is shown that changes in velocity and cross-sectional shape occur mostly in the region of 1mm from the die exit.
This research is to investigate the performance analysis for efficient design with four different inlet angles of the centrifugal pump impeller. Assuming that the rotation speed and exit angle are fixed, Four cases of the centrifugal pumps were numerically analyzed using ANSYS FLUENT. According to the numerical results, head and pump efficiency at inlet angle of 20 degrees was highest. There is no big difference of efficiency at inlet angle of 20 degrees compared to the inlet angle 30 degrees. About 15% of efficiency at inlet angle of 20 degrees is higher than inlet angle of 40 degrees and 31% higher than inlet angle oof 50 degrees. Because there is liner functional relationship between speed and flow rate, suction flow rate at inlet angle of 20 degrees is superior to the inlet angle of 30 degrees as much as 0.89%, inlet angle of 40 degrees as 13%, inlet angle of 50 as 28.4%. Head at inlet angle of 20 degrees is superior to the inlet angle of 30 degrees as much as 0.4%, inlet angle of 40 degrees as 2.7%, inlet angle of 50 degrees as 3.2%. There should exist highest efficiency and also optimal design shape at inlet angle of 20 degrees.
A computational work of the impulse wave which is discharged from the open end of a pipe is compared to the Lighthill's aeroacoustics theory. The second-order total variation diminishing(TVD) scheme is employed to solve the axisymmetric, compressible, unsteady Euler equations. The relationship between the initial compressure wave form and the resulting impulse wave is characterized in terms of the peak pressure. The overpressure, pressure gradient and wavelength of the initial compression wave are changed to investigate the influence of the initial compressure wave form on the peak pressure of impulse wave. The results obtained show that for the initial compression wave of a large wavelength and small pressure gradient the peak pressure of the impulse wave depends upon the wavelength and pressure gradient of compression wave, but for the initial compression wave of a short wavelength and large pressure gradient the peak pressure of the impulse wave is almost constant regardless of the wavelength and pressure gradient of compression wave. The peak pressure of the impulse wave is increased with an increase in the overpressure of the initial compression wave. The results from the numerical analysis are well compared to the results from the aeroacoutics theory with a good agreement.

Stator insulation quality assessment for high voltage motors is a major issue for the reliable maintenance of industrial and power plants. To assess the condition of stator insulation, nondestructive tests were performed on the sixty coil groups of twelve motors. After completing the nondestructive tests, the AC voltage applied to the stator winding was gradually increased until insulation failure in order to obtain the breakdown voltage. The stator winding of each motor was classified into five coil groups; one group with healthy insulation and four groups with four different types of artificial defects. To analyze the breakdown voltage statistically, Weibull distribution was employed for the tests on the fifty coil groups of ten motors. The 50th percentile values of the measured breakdown voltages based on the statistical data of the five coil groups of ten motors were 26.1kV, 25.0kV, 24.4kV, 26.7kV and 30.5kV, respectively. Almost all of the failures were located in the line-end coil at the exit of the core slot. The breakdown voltages and the types of defects showed strong relation to the stator insulation tests such as in the case of dissipation factor and ac current. It is shown that the condition of the motor insulation can be determined from the relationship between the probability of failure and the type of defect.

Offset paper printing is a promising roll-to-roll technique for color printed materials. Although it is no doubt that understanding ink transfer mechanism in offset printing process is necessary to achieve high printing quality, investing the relationship between inks and substrates at the nip is difficult experimentally due to high printing speed. In this paper, rheological behavior and splitting point of the ink at the nip is studied using package software Ployflow and Flow 3D based on Navier-Stokes equation. Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) ink and IGT printability tester were used for an model ink and experiment to compare with that of simulation data, respectively. As a result, higher viscosity at state flow and pressure increased ink transfer due to higher possibility of presence of cavitation at the nip and increase in covering area ratio. These results have shown good agreements with experimental data compared by measuring density of print through.
A multistage approach for service recovery enables restaurant managers to do the most effective recovery strategies to reduce customer dissatisfaction and lead to positive behavioral intentions. The purpose of this study was to identify the most effective service recovery strategies in terms of service stage and examine the relationship between service strategies and behavioral intentions. A total of 227 diners examined the customer perceptions to recovery strategies (tangible strategy and intangible strategy) following service failures in each of the four stages:1) reservation and parking, 2) seating and ordering, 3) meal consumption, and 4) payment and exit. The one-way ANOVA showed that intangible strategies were relatively more effective than tangible strategies regardless of service stages. Free meal or free dessert were most effective in service stage 1 and stage 2 whereas correct the failure and reperformance of service found to be the most effective service recovery strategy. Regarding the association between service recovery strategies and behavioral intentions, multiple regression analysis showed that intangible strategies influenced diners' likelihood of positive behavioral intentions whereas tangible strategies lead to diners' willingness to positive behavioral intentions only in service stage 1. The findings enable restaurant practitioners to improve service recovery activities from a service stage perspective.

A number of combat simulation models are scattered and the analytic solution approaches have experienced very difficult computational efforts. Today´s computer communication technology let people to do many unrealistic things possible and the use of those technologies is becoming increasingly prevalent throughout the military operation. Both DIS and ADS are welled defined computer aided military simulations. This study discusses a simulation of stochastic combat network modeling through Internet space. We have developed two separate simulation models, one for clients and another for server, and validated for conducting studies with these models. The object-oriented design was necessary to define the system entities and their relationship, to partition functionality into system entities, and to transform functional metrics into realizations derived from system component behaviors. Heterogeneous forces for each side are assumed at any battle node. The time trajectories for mean number of survivors and combat history at each node, some important combat measures, and relative difference computations between models were made. We observe and may conclude that the differences exit and some of these are significant based on a limited number of experiments.
