대형 압출 빌렛트의 재가열 공정 (Reheating Process of Extrusion Billet with Large Dimension)

  • Semi-solid processing is now becoming of great interest for the production of various parts by pressure die casting. Many advantages are associated with this forming process at the condition that the forming operation is performed under appropriate conditions. The thixoforming process, which needs a suspension of a globular, non-dendritic solid phase in the liquid phase, is characterized by three major steps. The first step is casting of billets with a microstructure suited for thixoforming. The second step is reheating of slugs cut from these billets. The third step is injection of the semi-solid slugs into a die. In this paper, the horizontal reheating machine to obtain the optimal conditions suitable for semiu-solid die casting process was used and applied to extrusion material. It is estimated the possibility of application on semi-solid die casting with extrusion material through various results.

  • The semi-solid casting will have a higher internal integrity, mechanical properties and dimensional accuracy than the conventional castings. This process can reduce the manufacturing costs and finished weight for critical components. The semi-solid casting are capable of greater dimensional repeatbility, this supplies considerable savings when extensive machining, salvage and scrap are key variables in the current automotive product. One of the most important factor regarding the semi-solid die casting process are the reheating method of the raw materials to the semi-solid state. Therefore, in this present work, the horizontal type induction heating system to obtain the optimal reheating conditions suitable for semi-solid die casting process was designed and manufactured. And the microstructure of reheated materials was investigated.

  • The forming process of metal matrix composites by the die casting and squeeze casting process are limited in size and dimension in term of final parts without machining. The thixoforming process for metal matrix composites has numerous advantages compared to die casting, squeeze casting and compocasting. The characteristics of thixoforming process can decrease the liquid segregation because of he improvement in fluidity in a globular microstructure state and utilizes flow without air entrapment. Therefore, in order to obtain the sound parts of metal matrix composites by using thixoforming process which as co-existing solidus-liquidus pahse, it si very important to obtain reheating condition. However, for he thixoforming process, the billet with the desired volume fraction must be heated to obtain a uniform temperature distribution over the entire cross-sectional areas. To obtain the reheating conditions of composites, the particulate reinforced metal matrix composites for thixoforming were fabricated by combined stirring process which is simultaneously performed with electro-magnetic stirring process which is simultaneously performed with electro-magnetic stirring and mechanical stirring process.

Impact of Cooking, Storage, and Reheating Conditions on the Formation of Cholesterol Oxidation Products in Pork Loin

  • This study investigates the effect of cooking, storage, and reheating conditions on the formation of cholesterol oxidation products (COPs) in pork loin. Samples of pork loin procured 24 h postmortem were initially processed and assessed for total fat and cholesterol content. The cooking methods evaluated were pan roasting, steaming, oven grilling, and microwaving. Cooked pork loin samples were stored at 4℃ and reheated after 3 and 6 d of storage using the original method of preparation or alternately, microwaving. Fat content increased significantly with cooking as a result of the loss in moisture but cholesterol content remained unchanged. Pan roasting and microwave cooking caused a significantly higher production of COPs, as with the process of reheating using microwave, pan roasting, and oven grilling methods. The major COPs found in pork loin were cholestanetriol, 20-hydroxycholesterol, and 25-hydroxycholesterol, whose concentrations varied according to the different cooking and reheating methods used. Moreover, the aerobic storage of cooked pork loin under a refrigerated condition also increased the formation of cholesterol oxides on reheating.

  • In this study, an innovative semi-solid die casting technology to replace heavier cast iron compressor parts with lightweight aluminum castings was proposed, and the application possibility for home-appliance component was investigated. The most important factors regarding the semi-solid die casting process are the reheating process of the raw materials to the semi-solid state, specifications of the forming machine, the optimal injection conditions and die design. Materials used in this study were A3S7 and hSn alloys fabricated by the electromagnetic stirring process. The optimal injection conditions for semi-solid die casting process were Presented with the reheating conditions of the semi-solid materials. To investigate the effect of plunger tip shape on the formability and mechanical properties in semi-solid die casting process for complicated shape part, two kinds of plunger tip shape with long and short plunger tip taper are proposed.

  • Recently various pressure vessels like an atomic reactor and plant facilities become more larger and are needed to bear in both very high temperature and pressure condition. And in making such a high pressure vessels the amount of annual usage of 2 $\frac {1}{4}$ Cr-1Mo steels which are predominant to resist high temperature high pressure and corrosive circumstances are increasing. But despite of this advantage of 2 $\frac {1}{4}$Cr-1Mo steel. when PWHT(post welding heat treatment) is carried out lots of reheating cracks are occur. In this reason it is strongly needed to study and examine the mechanical behavior of welded joints through welding to PWHT process. So in this study welded nozzle of pressure vessel where reheat cracks are frequently occur are selected for analysis the crack-occurrence mechanism.

도재용착주조관용 비귀금속 합금의 사전 열처리가 도재-금속의 결합 강도에 미치는 효과 (The Effect of Oxidation Heat Treatment on Porcelain to Metal Bond Strength)

  • The interfacial bond strengh and microstructural analysis of pre-heat treated porcelain-fusedmetal(PFM) were investigated using a mechanical three-point bending tester and scanning electron microscope(SEM). Four kinds of heat treated samples were prepared as follows ; A: Heating $1200^{\circ}F{\to}1600^{\circ}F$, holding 1min, reheating ${\to}1850^{\circ}F$, hold 3min under vacuum, B: heating $1200^{\circ}F{\to}1600^{\circ}F$, holding 1min, reheating${\to}1850^{\circ}F$ under vacuum conditon, C: heating $1200^{\circ}F{\to}1600^{\circ}F$, holding 1min, reheating${\to}1850^{\circ}F$, holding 3min in the air, repeat same heat treatment process under vacuum condition, D: heating $1200^{\circ}F{\to}1600^{\circ}F$, holding 1min, reheating${\to}1850^{\circ}F$, holding 1min in the air. The three-point bening test result shows that the interfacial bond strength of specimen B and C were higher than that of A and D. The SEM study indicate that Specimen C shows the highest surface density.

Thixoforming을 위한 Al-7%Si-0.3%Mg 합금의 유도 가열 조건이 구상화 조직에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Induction Heating Conditions on Globular Microstructure of Al-7%Si-0.3%Mg Alloy for Thixoforming)

  • The optimal reheating conditions to apply the thixoforging and semi-solid die casting process were investigated by changing the reheating time, the holding time, the reheating temperatures, the capacity of the induction heating system, and the adiabatic material size. In the case of solid fraction fs=50% (for semi-solid die casting), the microstructure of SSM (specimen size:$d76{\times}l90$) at the condition of the first elevating time of 4 min, holding time of 1 min and holding temperature of $350^{\circ}C$, the second elevating time of 3 min, holding time of 3 min and holding temperature of $575^{\circ}C$, the third elevating time of 1 min, holding time of 2 min and holding temperature of $584^{\circ}C$, capacity of Q=8.398KW is obtained with globular microstructure and finest. In addition, in the case of solid fraction fs=55% (for thixoforging), the SSM (specimen size:$d76{\times}l90$) at the condition of the first elevating time of 4 min, holding time of 1 min and holding temperature of $350^{\circ}C$, the second elevating time of 3 min, holding time of 3 min and holding temperature of $570^{\circ}C$, the third elevating time of 1 min, holding time of 2 min and holding temperature of $576^{\circ}C$, capacity of Q=12.04KW is obtained with the finest globular microstructure. We saw that the most important factor in a three-step reheating process is the final holding time.

연속식 가열로에서 버너배열에 따른 소재 및 가스온도의 영향 (The Effects of Various Burner Array on Workpiece and Gas Temperature in a Continuous Reheating Furnace)

  • 열전달 및 에너지평형모델을 적용하여 연속식 가열로에서의 버너 배열에 따른 소재 및 노내 가스 온도의 영향을 수치해석으로 분석하였다. 연속식 가열로에서의 최적화된 소재의 가열구간을 확보하기 위해 한정된 공간을 갖는 노 내에서 총 공급열량을 동일한 조건으로 하고 가열능력에 따른 버너의 출력, 대수 및 배열 등을 조절하여 소재의 온도와 노 내 가스온도에 미치는 영향을 수치 해석적 방법으로 살펴보았다. 수치 해석적 방법을 통해 110톤/일의 생산량을 가지도록 설계된 기존의 가스 연소식 버너를 포함하는 연속식 가열로의 성능을 유지하면서 가스온도가 가열대 및 균열대의 중간지점에서 최대 값의 차이가 약 $40^{\circ}C$ 낮아 설비에 부하가 적고 소재목표 추출온도에 도달하는 $1,175^{\circ}C$조건의 버너배열을 도출하였다.

은을 이용한 착색유리 제조에 관한 연구 (Study on Colour Development in Silver Containing Glass)

  • For the manufacture of the silver-yellow glass, silver nitrate was used as a colorant in the base glass of $K_2O$-CaO-$SiO_2$ system. The latter in which the optimum condition was revealed showing beautiful yellow color had been selected among others after the preparatory studies to choose base glass. Other base glass systems considered were $Na_2O$-CaO-$SiO_2$, $R_2O$-PbO-$SiO_2$ and $R_2O$-PbO-BaO-$SiO_2$. The color developed on the specimen in various conditions was examined, using spectorphotometer, in term of the changes in absorbance with wavelength in the visible range. Experimental variables were the amount of the colorant and the additives, reheating temperature and time. The additives such as ZnO, BaO, $B_2O_3$ and $As_2O_3$ were added to increase the coloring action. It was observed that as the amount of silver increased in the base glass the absorbance around $410{\mu}m$ showed the increasing tendency, but the width of absorption curve was wider. Hence, the optimum amount of silver appeared to be 0.11~0.12%. It was found that ZnO was effective additive when present about 0.1%, while $As_2O_3$ ineffective rather retarding the coloration. Borax and $BaCO_3$ were proved effective when contained separately, but appeared ineffective when coexisted. Proper reheating temperature and time was ranged 550~$580^{\circ}C$ and 50~60 minutes. The higher the reheating temperature and the longer the reheating time, the absorbance was increased, while the width of absorption curve was wider. The colored glass prepared in the present experimental condition was found to have good water-resistance for the decorative purpose.
