The costs due to the maintenance and its method of national road have increased every year, and the maintenance costs have become higher due to the maintenance method without considering the characteristics of each region. This study is a preliminary study regarding the determination of maintenance method according to the characteristics of each region by applying variables (e.g. serviced time, traffic volume, average temperature, maximum temperature, minimum temperature, rainfall, and snowfall) to decide the maintenance and its method through the correlation analysis of road maintenance and repair period for each regional agency using the maintenance history data of national road management agency.

This paper deals with the study of feasibility of rotary carbide tools in the machining of aluminium alloy. A rotary tool holder was designed and manufactured for this work. Experiments were performed using Taguchi methods and regression analysis to analyse the influence of various factors and their interactions on the cutting characteristics of rotary carbide tools during machining. The cutting force is influenced the most greatly at the inclination angle. The surface roughness is influenced distinctly at depth of cut. It deduced an equation to predict cutting force and surface roughness. Hence, it could be concluded here that the proposed model agrees with the experimental data satisfactorily.
The empirical area-reduction method by W.M. Borland and C.R. Miller and its revised procedure by W.T. Moody were made of fitting the area and storage curves to the Van't Hul distributions. It should be noted that the reservoir is classified into one of the four standard types on the basis of the topographical feature of the reservoir in application of the method. In other words, this method did not take into account several considerafble factors affecting the mode of sediment deposition, but only the shape of the reservoir as a governign factor. This is why the method occasionally creates ambiguity in classification and accordingly leads to unexpected mode of deposition. This paper describes a generating an formula to decide the standard classification of four types Van's Hul distributions, taking into consideration quantitatively sediment-loss percent and capacity-inflow ratio as well as the shape of the reservoirs by multiple regression analysis using the least square method to get a better fit to the design curves. The result is expressed as $Y=-1.95+55.8X_1+0.14X_2+0.12X_3$ in which the the values of Y locate the standard type I through type IV in the range from ten to forty with the interval of ten. The regression analysis was correlated well with the standard errors of estimate of around two except for the case of the type IV. This formula does not give big difference from the Borland's work in general sityation, but it demonstrates acceptable results, giving somewhat precise replys for the specific reservoirs. Its application to the Soyang Lake, one of the largest reservoirs in the country, defined clearly the type II, while the original method located it in the boundary of the type II and type III.
This paper proposes a center of plantar foot pressure (CoP) trajectory estimation method based on Gaussian process regression, with the aim to show robust results regardless of the regions and numbers of FSRs of the insole sensor. This method can bring an interpolation between the measurement points inside the wearable insole sensor, and two experiments are conducted for performance evaluation. For this purpose, the input data used in the experiment are generated in three types (13 FSRs, 8 FSRs, 5 FSRs) according to the regions and numbers of FSRs. First, the estimation results of the CoP trajectory are compared using Gaussian process regression and weighted mean. As a result of each method, the estimation results of the two methods were similar in the case of 13 FSRs data. On the other hand, in the case of the 8 and 5 FSRs data, the weighted mean varies depending on the regions and numbers of FSRs, but the estimation results of Gaussian process regression showed similar results in spite of reducing the regions and numbers. Second, the estimation results of the CoP trajectory based on Gaussian process regression during several gait cycles are analyzed. In five gait cycles, the previous cycle and the current estimation results are compared, and it was confirmed that similar trajectories appeared in all. In this way, the method of estimating the CoP trajectory based on Gaussian process regression showed robust results, and stability was confirmed by yielding similar results in several gait cycles.
This paper describes a Accelerated Life Test (ALT) with the electrical contact erosion suitable to the evaluations of high-reliability and durability devices such as magnetic contactor. Recently, an electrical devices company was interested in accelerated life test (ALT), the product liability (PL) and the short-term testing model of electrical life test (ELT). In order to estimate a model for testing fee and period, need to the statistical analysis method with the acceleration factor(AF). Usually customer/manufacturer regard their device failure to the over-current or heavy duty condition, while devices view shape of contact erosion owing to operational duty problem. In this paper, additional method of evaluation estimated the operated cycles by weight of contact erosion with a used of regression analysis by MINITAB.
In this paper, object of experiment is to study on the effect parameters to obtain optimal surface roughness in face turning. Surface roughness is significantly important to be high quality of parts produced by turning process. For this purpose, the optimization of cutting parameters for face turning operation is investigated applying the Taguchi method. An orthogonal array, signal-to-noise, and the analysis of variance are employed to evaluate effect of cutting parameters for face turning. Also confirmation tests were performed to make a comparison between the results predicted from the mentioned correlations and the theoretical results. Cutting experiment is performed without cutting fluid using coated tungsten carbide insert about workpiece of SM45C. And regression analysis technique has been used to study the effects of the cutting parameters.
For the effective design of automated distribution center composed of Automated Storage/Retrieval System, Automated Guided Vehicle System, and Conveyor System, we proposed an analysis method to determining. design and control parameters with multiple performance objectives using Compromise Programming, which can resolve the dilemma of conflicting objectives. The Evolution Strategy generates the optimal solutions for each objectives. The Analytic Hierarchy Process selects the best solution among the alternatives generated from Evolution Strategy. The Regression Analysis formulates the objective functions for each objectives. By reducing deviations between goal values and target values generated from Analytic Hierarchy Process, Compromise Programming determines design and control parameters by compromising the multiple objectives formulated using Regression Analysis. When the parameters of system are changed, this proposed analysis method has a benefit of reducing costs and time without repeating whole simulation run.
Metal Transfer in gas metal arc (GMA) welding is a complex phenomenon affected by many parameters of the welding conditions and material properties. In this research, the correlation equation between the welding condition and detaching droplet size and detaching velocity in GMA welding was studied via recession analysis on the results of numerical analysis using the volume-of-fluid (VOF) method. Welding parameters and material properties were grouped into three dimensionless numbers and detaching droplet size was expressed as the function of them. Second order and exponential multi-variable correlation forms were assumed, and the coefficients of these equations were calculated for globular and spray modes as well as entire transfer modes. Applying correlation equation into available experimental data, it shows good agreement.

Globally, South Korea is a country that has a lot of $CO_2$ emissions and has steadily increased its total greenhouse gas emissions since the 1990s. With the recent implementation of the carbon emission trading system in Korea, the importance of calculating $CO_2$ emissions of construction equipment is increasing, hence the need for accurate calculation of environmental penalties through allocating carbon emission rights. This study presents a methodology to predict the price of carbon credits using big data analysis method. This methodology is based on correlating and regression analysis of trends in carbon emission prices and search volumes. This study aims to support faster and more accurate budget calculations in the planning of the construction process based on the predicted price of carbon emission rights.

This paper describes the method of statistical analysis and its programs for predicting the ship's powering performance. The equation for the wavemaking resistance coefficient is derived as the sectional area coefficients by using the wavemaking resistance theory and its regression coefficients are determined from the regression analysis of the model test results. The equations for the form factor, wake franction and thrust deduction fraction are derived by purely regression analysis of the principal dimensions, sectional area coefficients and model test results. The statistical analyses are performed using the various descriptive statistic and stepwise regression analysis techniques. The powering performance prognosis program is developed to cover the prediction of resistance coefficients, propulsive coefficients, propeller open-water efficiency and various scale effect corrections.
