구글 트렌드 빅데이터를 통한 바이오의약품의 시장 점유율 분석과 추정 (Analysis and Estimation for Market Share of Biologics based on Google Trends Big Data)

  • Google Trends is a useful tool not only for setting search periods, but also for providing search volume to specific countries, regions, and cities. Extant research showed that the big data from Google Trends could be used for an on-line market analysis of opinion sensitive products instead of an on-site survey. This study investigated the market share of tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) inhibitor, which is in a great demand pharmaceutical product, based on big data analysis provided by Google Trends. In this case study, the consumer interest data from Google Trends were compared to the actual product sales of Top 3 TNF-α inhibitors (Enbrel, Remicade, and Humira). A correlation analysis and relative gap were analyzed by statistical analysis between sales-based market share and interest-based market share. Besides, in the country-specific analysis, three major countries (USA, Germany, and France) were selected for market share analysis for Top 3 TNF-α inhibitors. As a result, significant correlation and similarity were identified by data analysis. In the case of Remicade's biosimilars, the consumer interest in two biosimilar products (Inflectra and Renflexis) increased after the FDA approval. The analytical data showed that Google Trends is a powerful tool for market share estimation for biosimilars. This study is the first investigation in market share analysis for pharmaceutical products using Google Trends big data, and it shows that global and regional market share analysis and estimation are applicable for the interest-sensitive products.

  • Internal waves, including all kinds of wave phenomena inside a stratified fluid system, have been a subject of interest for a long time in geophysics, coastal and ocean engineering, applied mathematics and hydrodynamics. The vast oceans on the earth are a complex stratified fluid system widely distributed with pycnoclines, which are horizontally layered regions with a large density variation, commonly located about 50-150 meters below the ocean surface.   • The goal of this research is to provide a practical algorithm for outlining the left ventricular cavity in digital subtraction angiography. The proposed algorithm is based on the elliptic approximation and ML (Maximum Likelihood) estimate, and it produces a good results regarding execution time, robustness against noise, accuracy, and range of position of ROI (Regions Of Interest).

  • Increased demand for esthetic restorations has promoted a growing interest in tooth-colored restorations even in the posterior regions. Preparation for specific types of indirect inlay and onlays may vary because of differences in fabrication steps for each commercial system and variations in the physical properties of the restorative materials. Preparations for indirect inlay/onlay basically are meant to provide adequate thickness for restorative material and at the same time a passive insertion pattern with rounded internal angles and well defined margins after deciding what type of restoration is indicated.(omitted)

  • The flow fields in Gas Bubble Driven Circulation Systems were numerically analyzed. In various gas flow rate and bubble size, the flow characteristics were predicted. Eulerian-Eulerian approach was used for the formulation of both the continuous and dispersed phases. The modification of the general purpose computer program PHOENICS code was employed to predict the mean flow fields, turbulent characteristics, gas dispersion, volume fraction. The predicted shows very satisfactory agreement with experimental results for all regions of ladle. The results are of interest in the design and operation of wide variety of material processing.

  • A thermionic energy converter test station is constructed for the study of electromagnetic energy generation. Of particular interest is the frequency variations due to changes in the interelectrode gap, the electrode temperature, and the cesium vapor pressure. It is found experimentally that the most intense ratio-frequency(rf) oscillations occur at two non-overlapping regions.

  • Texture is one of the important characteristics that has been used to identify objects or regions of interest in an image. Tire tread patterns can be considered as a kind of texture, and these are classified with a texture analysis method. In this sense, this paper proposes a new algorithm for the classification of tire tread pattern. For the classification, cooccurrence matrix for the binary image is used. The performances are tested by experimentally 8 different tire tread pattern and the robustness is examined by including some kinds on noise.

F-18 FDG PET/MRI와 PET/CT 전신 영상에서 VOI를 이용한 정상부위의 $SUV_{LBM}$-최대치에 의한 영상평가 (Image Evaluation Via $SUV_{LBM}$ for Normal Regions of VOI by Using Whole Body Images Obtained from PET/MRI and PET/CT)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 26명의 건강한 검진자들을 대상으로 PET/CT와 PET/MRI의 전신 영상에서 조기 정밀/ 진단 수준을 향상하고자 관심부피를 이용하여 정상부위의 $SUV_{LBM}$-최대치를 이용하여 PET/CT와 PET/MRI를 조영제 사용 유무와 관계없이 동시 평가할 수 있는 데이터를 구축하고자 하였다. 전신 F-18 FDG PET/CT와 전신 F-18 FDG PET/MRI의 정상부위의 VOI를 이용한 $SUV_{LBM}$-최대치평가는 PET/CT를 기준으로 PET/MRI의 영상은 매우 유의한 차이를 보였다(p<0.0001). 그러나 통계학적으로 높은 상관관계를 가진다(R>0.8). PET/MRI의 $SUV_{LBM}$ 평가 시 26.3% 감소하여 판단할 것과 조영제를 사용할 경우는 29.3% 감소하여 판단할 것으로 생각한다. PET/CT와 PET/MRI의 모든 영상의 판독에서는 $SUV_{LBM}$-최대치를 사용하는 것이 편리성과 효율성을 고려하여 임상의나 연구자들에게 많은 도움이 되리라 판단된다.

JPEG2000의 동적 ROI 코딩에서 개략적인 분할을 이용한 빠른 마스크 생성 기법 (A Technique Getting Fast Masks Using Rough Division in Dynamic ROI Coding of JPEG2000)

  • 인터넷이 느린 환경이나 이미지가 큰 경우에 서버로부터 이미지를 전부 보는 데는 시간이 걸린다. 이를 위해, 이미지의 일부를 우선적으로 처리하는 방법이 필요하여, JPEG2000에서는 ROI(Region-of-Interest) 코딩으로 제공하고 있다. ROI 코딩은 이미지의 thumbnail을 사용자에게 보내어 개략적인 이미지를 보고 먼저 보고 싶어 하는 영역을 지정하면, 이 영역에 관한 정보가 서버로 전달되어, 서버는 사용자에게 이 영역을 우선적으로 전송한다. 이를 처리하기 위해, 기존의 방법은 사용자가 지정한 영역을 계산할 때, 섬세하게 계산을 함으로써 영역에 관한 마스크 정보 생성 시간을 많이 요구하였는데, 본 연구에서 제안하는 방법은 개략적으로 영역을 계산하고, ROI 마스크의 생성시간을 줄이는 방법을 제안한다. 각 블록에서 ROI와 배경이 섞여 있는 블록이면 적절한 경계선을 찾기 위하여 코드블록의 가장자리를 이진 탐색하여 두 경계지점을 얻고, 두 점 간의 중간에 위치한 코드블록 내의 경계점을 얻기 위하여, 두 점 간의 중간 지점을 이진 탐색한다. 이렇게 얻어진 세 점을 지나는 두 직선의 방정식을 이용해서 개략적인 ROI 코딩을 한다. 제안한 방법은 품질 면에서는 큰 차이가 없지만 실행 속도 면에서는 현저하게 빠르다는 것을 보인다.

Central Asia and the Republic of Korea: A Sketch on Historical Relations

  • This paper attempts to reveal little-known pages from the history of relations between the peoples of Central Asia and Korea based on materials derived from written sources and modern scientific literature, as well as from medieval wall paintings from the early medieval Afrasiab Palace of Varhuman, the ruler of Samarkand, and from stone sculptures of Sogdian figures contained in Silla royal tombs. Korea's interest in the western lands led to its contact with Buddhism, which spread and later flourished in all three Korean kingdoms (Koguryo, Paekche and Silla). The spread of Buddhism in turn motivated a number of Korean monks to undertake pilgrimages to India via Central Asia. Hyecho, a young Silla pilgrim, left evidence of his journey via the South China Sea to India in 723 AD. Paul Pelliot discovered a report from Hyecho's journey entitled Notes on Pilgrimage to Five Regions in India (Wang Wu Tianzhuguo zhuan) in the Dunhuang caves in 1908. Hyecho's contributions are worthy of attention, substantially complementing knowledge available for this little-studied period in the history of South and Central Asia. The information contained in Hyecho's manuscript is, in fact, considered the most significant work of the first half of the 8th century. Research regarding the relationship between Central Asia and Korea remains underdeveloped. Existing historical evidence, however, including the above mentioned Samarkand wall paintings, depicts the visits of two Korean ambassadors to Samarkand, and evidence from Silla tombs suggests the presence of diplomatic relations in addition to trade between the two regions. Overall, the history of the relationship between Central Asia and Korea yields new insights into how and why these distant countries sustained trade and diplomatic and cultural exchange during this early period. Taking into account Korea's growing interest in Uzbekistan, especially in its history and culture, this article can act as a catalyst for studying the history of the two country's relations.
