The regimes of elastohydrodynamic lubrication at the points where line contacts occur between the vane tip and camring in an oil hydraulic vane pump is studied. A study of the contact conditions in vane pump provided most of the early interest in the possibility of fluid film lubrication in highly loaded contacts. The variation of viscosity with pressure and the elastic deformation associated with the high pressures generated in the contact region are the major causes of the complexity attributed to lubrication behavior. Therefore a numerical solutions to the problem of elastohydrodynamic lubrication of line contact are obtained by using a finite-difference formulation.

Collinearity among independent variables can have severe effects on the precision of response estimation for some region of interest in the experiments with mixture. A method of finding optimal linear restriction on regression parameter in linear model for mixture experiments in the sense of minimizing integrated mean squared error is studied. We use the formulation of optimal restrictions on regression parameters for estimating responses proposed by Park(1981) by transforming mixture components to mathematically independent variables.

The purpose of this article is to develop a program for teaching Type I and Type II errors in one sample. In this program, the concepts of two errors are visually explained, and the probabilities of two errors are also visually displayed as the rejection region changes or the sample size changes. Also, in this program, the power curve and the operating characteristic curve are visually displayed in terms of the parameter value of interest.

One of the important properties of a 'good' response surface design is that the design should be insensitive to wild observations. In this note, a measure of sensitivity to wild observations is studied. It is shown that designs are made robust to wild observations by making $Tr[X'X)^{-1}M]$ small where M is a moment matrix over some region of interest. The proposed criterion is compared with that suggested by Box and Draper. Some about robust two-variable response surface designs are given.

본 논문에서는 안드로이드 환경에서 글자 인식을 위한 전처리 과정으로 입력 영상에서 글자 영역만을 추출하는 기법을 제안한다. 대부분의 글자 인식 어플리케이션에서 글자를 인식하는 방법은 RoI(Region of Interest)에 인식하려는 글자를 위치시켜 놓고 사용자가 촬영함으로써 진행된다. 하지만 촬영된 영상 그대로를 인식에 사용하기 때문에 잡음 및 글자가 아닌 영역들을 글자로 인식하는 문제 등으로 인하여 인식률이 현저히 떨어진다. 제안하는 기법에서는 MSER(Maximally Stable Extremal Regions) 기법을 통해 각각의 글자를 추출한 후, 글자의 특성을 이용하여 글자 영역만을 추출한다. 기법의 성능 평가는 무료 OCR(Optical Character Recognition) 엔진인 Tesseract-OCR을 통해 글자 인식률을 비교하였으며, 제안하는 기법을 적용한 글자 인식 시스템이 적용하지 않은 시스템보다 글자의 인식률이 향상되는 것을 확인하였다.

An unstructured mesh method has been developed for the simulation of steady and time-accurate flows around helicopter rotors. A dynamic and quasi-unsteady solution-adaptive mesh refinement technique was adopted for the enhancement of the solution accuracy in the local region of interest involving highly vortical flows. Applications were made to the 2-D blade-vortex interaction aerodynamics and the 3-D rotor blades in hover. The interaction between the rotor and the airframe in forward flight was investigated by introducing an overset mesh technique.

Until now, The Market of aviation parts had led by OEM(Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts because of aviation industry's nature required higher reliability and safety. But recently, The interest about PMA parts in aviation market is increasing continuously with various environmental changes, such as economic stagnation, oil price rise, development of the manufacture technique and newly rising market of Asia-Pacific region. So, this paper introduces the trend and the requirements of FAA PMA / EASA EPA in order to enhance understanding for certification for aviation parts.

It is important to estimate the hand skin temperature because it reveals not only physiological properties of a certain diseases but also it can estimate even human mental-stress conditions. In this study, we try to estimate the temporal skin temperature distribution of human hand by applying stress-cold test to possibly apply to estimate a subject's blood circulation condition in his or her hand in terms of normal or abnormal state.

This paper provides a new application similar to the Local Defect Correction (LDC) technique to solve Poisson problem -u"(x) = f(x) with Dirichlet boundary conditions. The exact solution is supposed to have high activity in some region of the domain. LDC is combined with a fourth order compact scheme which is recently developed in Abbas (Num. Meth. Partial differential equations, 2013). Numerical tests illustrate the interest of this application.
