PIV 측정 흐름형태에 의한 타원형 날개꼴의 동적 실속 특성 연구 (A Study on the Dynamic Stall Characteristics of an Elliptical Airfoil by Flow Pattern Measured by PIV)

  • An experimental investigation on the static and dynamic stall characteristics of elliptic airfoil was performed by PIV velocity field measurements. The flow Reynolds number was $3.13{\times}10^5$ and the reduced frequency of the pitch oscillation ranged from 0.075 to 0.125. The onset of static stall was caused by boundary layer separation which started at the trailing edge and progressed toward the leading edge. However, dynamic stall was caused by the vortex shed at the leading edge region and the flow field showed a vortex dominated flow with turbulent separation and alternate vortex shedding. The increase of reduced frequency increased the dynamic stall angle of attack and intensified the flow hysteresis in the down-stroke phase.

기저부를 갖는 축대칭 수중운동체의 저항예측에 관한 수치적 연구 (Numerical Investigation for Drag Prediction of an Axisymmetric Underwater Vehicle with Bluff Afterbody)

  • The objective of this study is to predict the drag of an axisymmetric underwater vehicle with bluff afterbody using CFD. FLUENT, commercial CFD code, is used to simulate high Reynolds number turbulent flows around the vehicle. The computed drag coefficients are compared to available experimental data at various Reynolds numbers. Four widely used two-equation turbulence models are investigated to evaluate their performance of predicting the anisotropic turbulence in a recirculating flow region, which is caused by flow separation arising from the base of the vehicle. The simulations with Realizable ${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ and ${\kappa}-{\omega}$ SST turbulence models predict the anisotropic turbulent flows comparatively well and the drag prediction results with those models show good agreements with the experimental data.

  • The drag reduction of the cylinder having square dimpled surface was studied by the measuring the drag force acting on the cylinder. The level of the drag reduction was changed by the arrangement shape of the square grooves and Reynolds number. The drag of the cylinder was reduced about 28% with proper arrangement of square grooves. The flow field around the cylinder having grooves at the minimum drag was visualized by using post color ink in order to see the influence of the grooves. In this case, the separation points were sifted rearward and the wake region was smaller than that of the smooth cylinder.

  • 고속처리를 위한 나노급의 논리소자의 개발을 위해서는 소스/드레인 영역의 저항을 감소시키는 것이 필수적이다. 반도체소자의 개발 로드맵을 제시하고 있는 ITRS의 보고에 의하면 70㎚급 MOSFET에서는 채널영역의 저항에 대비하여 그 외의 영역이 나타내는 저항성분이 약 15% 이내로 제작되어야 할 것으로 예측하고 있다. 이 기준을 유지하기 위해서는 소스/드레인 영역의 각 전류 흐름에 기인하는 가상적 기생저항에 대한 성분 분리와 이들이 가지는 저항값에 대한 정량적 계산이 이루어져야 한다. 이에 본 논문은 calibration된 TCAD simulation을 통해 나노영역의 Tr.에서 저항성분을 계산, 평가하는 방법을 연구하였다. 특히, 소스/드레인 영역의 실리사이드 접촉 저항성분들을 최소화하여 optimize하기 위한 전략을 제시한다.

진동하는 NACA 4412 에어포일 근접후류에서의 레이놀즈수 효과 1: 평균속도장 (Reynolds Number Effects on the Near-Wake of an Oscillating Naca 4412 Airfoil, Part 1 : Mean Velocity Field)

  • 진동하는 에어포일의 근접후류 특성을 조사하기 위한 실험적 연구가 수행되었다. NACA 4412에어포일은 1/4 시위 지점을 중심으로 조화적으로 피칭운동을 하고, 순간받음각이 +6$^{\circ}$에서 -6$^{\circ}$까지 진동하도록 하였다. 진동하는 에어포일의 근접후류에서의 평균속도를 측정하기 위하여 열선풍속계를 사용하였다. 본 연구에서 자유류의 속도는 3.4, 12.4, 26.2 m/s이다. 이러한 자유류 속도에 따른 시위 레이놀즈수는 $R_N$=5.3${\times}10^4$, 1.9${\times}10^5$, 4.1${\times}10^5$이고, 무차원 진동수는 K=0.1이다. 레이놀즈수가 진동하는 에어포일의 근접후류에 미치는 영향을 나타내기 위하여 축방향 위상평균 속도분포를 제시하였다. 본 측정에서 모든 경우에 속도결손은 $R_N$=5.3${\times}10^4$인 경우에 아주 크고, $R_N$=1.9${\times}10^5$과 4.1${\times}10^5$인 경우에는 작다는 것을 관찰 할 수 있었다. 이와 같이 위상평균속도의 커다란 차이는 $R_N$=5.3${\times}10^4$과 1.9${\times}10^5$ 사이에 있다는 것을 관찰하였다. 따라서 본 연구는 진동하는 에어포일의 근접후류에서의 레이놀즈수의 임계값이 5.3${\times}10^4$에서 1.9${\times}10^5$ 범위에 존재한다는 것을 보여준다.

Determination of Toner Content by Diffuse Reflectance for Office Paper Recycling Studies

  • Waste office paper, photocopied or laser printed, has recently increased along with office automatization. In waste office paper, toner ink is used as the printing medium in place of conventional oil ink. Since toner ink cannot be saponificated by alkali and be decolored by bleaching, different from the case of oil ink, toner remains on regenerated paper as black specks. Although cascade recycling of waste office paper is compelled at present, the demand for low-grade paper is limited. From such circumstances, a new separation process for waste office paper is demanded to achieve parallel recycling. At the first stage of separation studies, the sharpness of separation is evaluated using small separators to obtain fundamental data. In a lab-scale separator, the sample amount of one feed is generally a few grams. However, the sample amount used for brightness, ERIC, and image analysis that are generally used to evaluate the efficiency of deinking are not small for lab-scale tests of these analyses. This paper describes an investigation of a sheet preparation method by a small amount of sample under 0.5g and compares the precision of toner content determination of spectroscopic analysis and image analysis from the viewpoint of separation evaluation. The easiness and convenience of the operation using only general-purpose equipments has also been set as a principle purpose. From the viewpoint of an analysis that yields high precision with a small amount of sample in short time, the method calculating the absorption coefficient from diffuse reflectance in the visible region is the most rational method in this study.

합류식 하수관거내 퇴적물이 CSOs에 미치는 영향 및 제어방안 (Effect and Control of the Sediment in the Combined Sewer on CSOs)

  • This study is selected two points of combined sewer that occurred Fish Kill after first flush, that analyzed generation of pollutants and stream runoff generation of combined sewer overflows (CSOs) as fine weather and rainfall. In addition, this study was to analyze the relationship between CSOs and sediments, to propose measures to reduce the sediment relevant with CSOs and rainfall runoff from entering sewage treatment plants and measures for discharged directly into streams when indicate relatively good water quality after overflow. Sediments in combined sewer system was discharged about 50~80% as overflows during rainfall and we can reduce the amount of the CSOs at least 50% or more if the sewer does not exist in the sediments because of the amount of discharge about the amount of intercept has been investigated by 3~5 times. Because of velocity at sediment interval in sewer is very low, sewage velocity of about 3~5 times as much as it can increase the amount of sediment can be reduced if the separation wall is installed. Effective control of BOD overflow load is respectively 77.5%, 75.8% at first point, second point by the separation wall is installed. Drainage area greater than area in this study or many combined sewer overflows region is increased the more effective control of separation wall. Turbidity to measure changes in water quality of overflows can be used as an factor to control the intercept flows because the intercept flows(3Q) after the first flush has lowered removal efficiency and increases the operational load of sewage treatment plants. Sewage water quality after a overflow when the reasonable turbidity was measured at this point flows to excluded intercept flow(1Q) can be discharged to stream.

페라이트계 스테인리스강의 열간압연 시 발생하는 Sticking 기구 연구 (Mechanism Study of Sticking Occurring during Hot Rolling of Ferritic Stainless Steel)

  • Mechanisms of sticking phenomena occurring during hot rolling of a modified STS 430J1L ferritic stainless steel have been investigated in this study by using a pilot-plant-scale rolling machine. As the rolling pass proceeds, the Fe-Cr oxide layer formed in a reheating furnace is destroyed, and the destroyed oxides penetrate into the rolled steel to form a thin oxide layer on the surface region. The sticking does not occur on the surface region containing oxides, whereas it occurs on the surface region without oxides by the separation of the rolled steel at high temperatures. This indicates that the resistance to sticking increases by the increase in the surface hardness when a considerable amount of oxides are formed on the surface region, and that the sticking can be evaluated by the volume fraction and distribution of oxides formed on the surface region. The lubrication and the increase of the rolling speed and rolling temperature beneficially affect to the resistance to sticking because they accelerate the formation of oxides on the steel surface region. In order to prevent or minimize the sticking, thus, it is suggested to increase the thickness of the oxide layer formed in the reheating furnace and to homogeneously distribute oxides along the surface region by controlling the hot-rolling process.
