인버터 열펌프의 주파수 및 냉매봉입량 변화에 따른 시스템 성능특성의 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Performance of an Inverter Heat Pump with a Variation of Frequency and Refrigerant Charging Amount)

  • In the air-conditioning industry, the refrigerant charging amount is one of the most important parameters affecting the energy efficiency ratio of heat pumps. An experimental study was performed on the characteristics of an inverter driven air-to-air heat pump system with a variation of compressor frequency and charging amount of refrigerant. The frequency was altered from 40Hz to 70Hz and the charging amount was changed from 1.6kg to 2.8kg in tests. The variation of performance was measured with switching of the expansion valve on each frequency and charging amount. All the tests were performed at the Korean Standard and test conditions of the air conditioners. As results, it was found that there existed the charging amount and the level of the suction gas superheat which provided the highest energy efficiency ratio at all the frequency bands.

  • 냉동기 냉매 충전에는 수동용 매니폴드게이지가 이용되고 있으며 냉매 충전시에는 3가지 호스를 여러번 교체하게 되는데 이에 따라 냉매손실이 수반되고 냉매가 대기중에 방출된다. 본 연구에서는 자동 냉매 충전장치를 개발하고 장치내의 불응축 가스 및 압축기 오일에 미치는 영향을 정량적으로 평가하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 자동 냉매 충전장치는 단 한번의 호스장착과 선택스위치의 조작만으로 전자밸브 및 진공펌프가 자동개폐 및 작동되어 내압시험, 진공시험, 냉매 충전작업이 가능하게 되며 진공펌프를 분리해서 보관하지 않아도 되므로 조작이 매우 간편하다. 진공펌프 흡입 및 토출측 관로에 종래와 같이 호스내의 불응축 가스 제거의 필요성을 배제하여 냉매 손실과 대기오염을 방지하고 냉매 충전시에 종래와 같이 충전호스를 여러번 교체 할 필요가 없으므로 확실한 충전이 가능케 된다. 실험결과 수동 매니폴드게이지를 사용할 때에 비해 실리카겔(SiO$_2$)및 압축기 오일중의 수분량은 1/4 이하로 줄어 오일의 수명과 진공펌프의 수명을 연장할 수 있음을 밝혀내었다.

  • Constant area expansion devices such as capillary tubes, short tube orifices are being gradually replaced with electronic expansion valves (EEVs) because of increasing focus on comfort and energy conservation. In this study, the performance of a water-to-water heat pump as a function of refrigerant charge is investigated in steady state, cooling mode operation with expansion devices of a capillary tube and an EEV. The performance of the capillary tube system varies drastically according to the change of refrigerant charge amount and inlet temperature of the secondary fluid in the condenser. Cooling capacity and COP of the EEV system show little dependence on the refrigerant charge, while those are strongly dependent on the secondary fluid temperature at the condenser inlet. In general, for a wide range of operating conditions the EEV system shows much higher performance as compared with the capillary tube system. The performance of the EEV system can be optimized by adjusting EEV opening to maintain a constant superheat at all test conditions.

Effects of Gas Injection on the Heating Performance of a Two-Stage Heat Pump Using a Twin Rotary Compressor with Refrigerant Charge Amount

  • For heat pumps used in a cold region, it is very important to obtain appropriate heating capacity. Several studies using a variable speed compressor and an additional heater have been performed to enhance heating capacity at low ambient temperatures. However, for outdoor temperature conditions below $-15^{\circ}C$, it is still difficult to obtain enough heating capacity above the rated value. In recent studies, the application of gas injection technique into a two-stage heat pump yielded noticeable heating performance improvement at low temperature conditions. In this study, the heating performance of a two-stage gas injection heat pump with a rated capacity of 3.5 kW was measured and analyzed by varying refrigerant charge amount and EEV opening at the standard heating condition. The heating performance of the two-stage gas injection heat pump was compared with that of a two-stage non-injection heat pump. The heating capacity and COP of the two-stage gas injection heat pump were improved by 2-10% at the optimal charging condition over those of the two-stage non-injection heat pump.

  • An AHX(Accumulator Heat eXchanger) consists of a commercial accumulator and an inner heat exchanger located inside of the accumulator. The AHX is used in multi air-conditioners to assure the liquid-phase refrigerant entering into the expansion device. This purpose is achieved by heat transfer between the refrigerant leaving the evaporator and the refrigerant leaving the condenser. In this study, the effects of AHX on the performance of a refrigeration system using H-22 were measured and the test results were analyzed. The operating characteristics of the refrigeration system with the installation of AHX were quite different from those without the installation of AHX. Therefore, it is required to find an optimum refrigerant charging amount and optimum operating conditions, when AHX is installed in the refrigeration system with an fixed area expansion device such as a capillary tube.

  • The cooling load in winter is significant in many commercial buildings and hotels because of the usage of office equipments and the high efficiency of wall insulation. The development of a multi-heat pump that can cover heating and cooling simultaneously for each indoor unit is required. In this study, the performance of a multi-heat pump with 3-piping system was investigated as a function of refrigerant charge and its performance was analyzed in cooling mode, heating mode, and heat recovery mode. COP in the heating or cooling mode showed little dependence on refrigerant charge at overcharge conditions, while those were strongly dependent on refrigerant charge at undercharge conditions and outdoor inlet temperature. In the heat recovery mode, the performance of the system was very sensitive to charge amount at all conditions. Optimum charge amount in the heat recovery mode was 14% lower than that in the cooling mode at the standard condition because the refrigerant only passed the indoor units. It is required to store the excessive refrigerant charge in a storage tank to optimize the system performance at operating modes.

모세관을 이용한 멀티형 열펌프의 신뢰성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Stuff on the Performance of Multi-type Heat Pump using Capillary Tubes)

  • In order to develop a multi-type heat pump system with two indoor units of non-uniform capacities, the optimum refrigerant circuit was developed using capillary tubes. The refrigerant circuit was composed of four main parts, a heating circuit, a cooling circuit, a by-pass circuit and a balance circuit. The system characteristics of multi-type heat pump was investigated through the rating test and the reliability test, using the multi-type psy-chrometric calorimeter. The results of the rating test showed that the capacity of the multi-type heat pump was about 93% of the design value. In particular, the capacity of cooling single mode was about 13% higher than the design value, and the capacity of heating multi mode was about 5% higher than the design value. The reliability of the multi-type heat pump was verified by various reliability tests (overload, extension tube, freeze up, under/over charging, sweat, flood back). The optimal amount of refrigerant charge and compressor capacity were determined from the present work.

열교환기 형상에 따른 분리형 히트파이프 성능 비교 (Separate type heat pipe performance comparison by the heat exchanger shapes)

  • 본 연구에서는 핀-관형 히트파이프와 평행류형 히트파이프 제작하여 시험하였으며 분리형 히트파이프의 작동유체의 충진량은 40~60(% vol.), 풍량은 300~1,400 사이에서 변화시켜가며 온도교환 효율, 열회수량, 공기측 압력강하를 비교하였다. 온도교환 효율은 두 종류의 히트파이프 모든 경우에서 저 풍량에서는 작동유체 충진량이 40(%vol.)일 때가 가장 높았으며 풍량이 증가함에 따라 최대 효율을 가지는 작동유체 충진량이 다름을 알 수 있었고, 환기량이 작을수록 온도교환 효율이 높게 나타났다. 평행류형 히트파이프 60(%vol.)의 실험결과에서 보는 것과 같이 작동 유체를 너무 많이 충진하게 되면 오히려 낮은 온도교환 효율을 보이는데 이는 관벽의 액막이 두터워지면서 열전달 효과를 악화시킨 결과로 최적 충진량이 40~50(%vol.) 사이에 있음을 알 수 있다. 풍량 변화에 따른 공기측 압력강하 비교에서는 증발부 히트파이프가 응축부 히트파이프 보다 크게 계측 되었는데 증발부 표면에 생긴 결로수의 영향으로 생각된다. 평행류형 히트파이프는 핀-관형 히트파이프와 비교하여 냉매 충진량은 48%, 체적은 41%에서 동등이상의 성능을 보였으며, 공기측 압력강하도 37% 정도로 좋은 성능을 나타내었다.

  • 현대 주택이 고기밀 고단열로 건축되기 때문에 에너지 절감의 이점이 있는 반면 오염된 공기로 인한 많은 부작용이 발생하고 있다. 이런 부작용을 해결하기 위해 환기장치를 사용하여 실내 공기 환경을 개선하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 폐열회수 환기장치의 일종인 히트파이프를 사용하여 작동유체 충진량 및 환기량에 따른 히트파이프의 환기성능을 시험적으로 평가하였다. 본 연구에서 사용된 히트 파이프는 환기장치에 적용이 가능하도록 분리형으로 제작되었다. 작동유체는 R22이고 유체의 충진량은 40~55(%vol.)로 5(%vol.) 단위로 충진 하였다. 환기량은 전면풍속을 기준으로 0.3~1.5m/s로 0.3 m/s 간격으로 바꿔 가며 측정하였다. 시험결과 최대 효율을 가지는 냉매 충진량이 환기량에 따라 다름을 알 수 있었고, 실험 결과 분석을 통하여 분리형 히트파이프의 환기량에 따른 최적 냉매 충진량을 찾을 수 있었다.
