폭 변화에 따른 다열 불투과성 수중방파제를 통과하는 다방향 불규칙파랑 해석 (Analysis of Multi-directional Random Waves Propagating over Multi Arrayed Submerged Breakwaters as Varying Crown Widths)

  • In this study, transmission and reflection of multi-directional random waves propagating over multi-arrayed submerged breakwaters are investigated using eigenfunction expansion method. The numerical analysis on the wave energy reflection of submerged breakwaters with various crown widths is carried out. Strong wave reflection is occurred at the Bragg reflection condition of the peak frequency. When relative heights and crown widths of breakwaters are equal to 0.6 and 0.4h, respectively, more than 25% of wave energy is reflected to off shore.

댐체 물성 평가를 위한 S파 반사법에 관한 연구 (A Study on S-wave Reflection method for the assessment of physical property of dam body)

  • Shear modulus (or rigidity) of dam material is an important parameter which can be directly associated with the deformation of dam. Seepage or leakage of water can cause the defects or cracks of dam body. The existence of cracks and rigidity of dam body are decisive information for the estimation of dam safety. Rigidity of material is mainly determined from S-wave velocity and the defects of dam body can be detected by seismic reflection survey. Therefore, seismic reflection survey will be a desirable method which can give a solution about dam safety problem. Among various physical properties of dam body, S-wave velocity is the most important information but it is not easy to get the information. In this study, diverse measuring techniques of S-wave reflection survey were attempted to get the information about S-wave velocity of dam body. Ultimately, S-wave velocity could be estimated by the analysis of SH reflection events which can be easily observed in shot gather data obtained from SH measuring technique. Meanwhile, P-wave reflection survey was also performed at the same profile. P-beam radiation technique which can reduce the surface waves and reinforce the P-wave reflection events was applied for giving a help to analyse P-wave velocity. In the end, P-and S-wave velocity, Vs/Vp, Poisson's ratio distribution of the vertical section under the profile could be acquired.

온라인 시뮬레이션 기반 HW설계 학습에서 성찰일지 내용에 따른 성찰수준 분석 (The Analysis of Reflect Level according to Reflect Journal in HW Design Learning based on Online Simulation)

  • 본 연구는 고등학생 대상 온라인 시뮬레이션 기반 HW설계 학습에서 학습자들의 성찰수준을 분석하기 위해, 5차시 HW설계 학습을 실시하고, 차시별 5개 성찰내용에 따른 성찰수준을 분석하였다. 또한 HW설계 학습의 만족도와 필요성을 조사하였다. 차시별 성찰수준 차이 분석 결과, 3차시 D-Flip Flop 학습의 성찰 수준이 1.23점(2점 만점)으로 가장 높았다. 성찰내용 간의 상관관계를 분석한 결과, 학습내용과 과제 해결 방법에서 높은 정적 상관관계(r=.781, p<.01)를, 과제 해결 방법과 다른 해결 방법에서 부적 상관관계(r=-.615, p<.05)를 나타냈다. HW설계 학습 만족도 조사 결과는 4.2점(5점 만점)을 나타냈으며, 대부분의 학생들이 고등학생 대상 HW설계 학습이 필요하고, 현재의 학습내용은 다소 어렵다는 의견이 많았다. 이를 통해 향후 HW설계 학습은 기초-심화로 구성된 콘텐츠와 온 오프라인이 병행된 교육과정 구성이 필요함을 알 수 있었다.

Efficient Algorithm for Real-time Generation of Reflection Lines

  • Depending upon the method of the surface generation and the quality of the designed boundary curves, the resulting surfaces may have global or local irregularities in many cases. Thus, it would be necessary for the designer to evaluate the surface quality and to modify the surface. This is very important because the defect of the surface causes the rework of the dies, increasing cost and delivery time significantly. To simulate the reflection line test in the actual production line, a faster algorithm for generating reflection lines is presented. In this paper, among various surface interrogation methods using reflection lines, Blinn-Newell type of reflection mapping is applied to generate the reflection lines on the trimmed NURBS surfaces. The derivation of reflection lines is formulated as a surface-plane intersection problem (Jung 1994) and is solved by surface-contouring techniques. Also, for eliminating the discontinuity of reflection lines due to the configuration of reflection map, a modified reflection map is proposed. An efficient traced contouring technique is utilized for the computational efficiency and proves to be well suited for the real-time quality-assessment task.

Pipeline defect detection with depth identification using PZT array and time-reversal method

  • The time-reversal method is employed to improve the ability of pipeline defect detection, and a new approach of identifying the pipeline defect depth is proposed in this research. When the L(0,2) mode ultrasonic guided wave excited through a lead zirconate titinate (PZT) transduce array propagates along the pipeline with a defect, it will interact with the defect and be partially converted to flexural F(n, m) modes and longitudinal L(0,1) mode. Using a receiving PZT array attached axisymmetrically around the pipeline, the L(0,2) reflection signal as well as the mode conversion signals at the defect are obtained. An appropriate rectangle window is used to intercept the L(0,2) reflection signal and the mode conversion signals from the obtained direct detection signals. The intercepted signals are time reversed and re-excited in the pipeline again, result in the guided wave energy focusing on the pipeline defect, the L(0,2) reflection and the L(0,1) mode conversion signals being enhanced to a higher level, especially for the small defect in the early crack stage. Besides the L(0,2) reflection signal, the L(0,1) mode conversion signal also contains useful pipeline defect information. It is possible to identify the pipeline defect depth by monitoring the variation trend of L(0,2) and L(0,1) reflection coefficients. The finite element method (FEM) simulation and experiment results are given in the paper, the enhancement of pipeline defect reflection signals by time-reversal method is obvious, and the way to identify pipeline defect depth is demonstrated to be effective.

  • This paper proposes a new method to improve signal characteristics at branches frequently met in system-level routing. We also introduce the numerical formula which can estimate the time delay due to branches and the simple design guideline for system-level routing. Finally, we propose the routing method which can eliminate the signal reflection for the case of one driver and two receivers (multi-drop topology).

Estimation of the 3-D Shape Surfaces with Specular Reflections

  • We propose a method to estimate the 3-D shape of surfaces with specular reflection, using a model of the difference in appearance between images reflected from a flat surface and a curved surface. First, we analyze the geometry of spatial reflection from a specular surface and how reflected light varies due to a curved surface. This is used to estimate 3-D shape. The proposed method is shown to be effective in experiments using illumination from spatially distributed light sources and a camera capturing the reflected light from curved, specular surfaces.

  • A design method of lossy interstage networks for broadband microwave amplifiers is presented. A lossy interstage network is assumed as the combination of two lossless networks between which a lossy serial impedance or a lossy parallel admittance is inserted. For the circuit with two transistors and a lossy element, realizable ranges of gain and reflection coefficients are derived. And the relationships between gain and reflection coefficients are derived. Illustrative examples are presented by using the proposed method.

방파제 기초 mound부의 반사파 제어기능에 관한 연구 (Wave Reflection Control Functions of Mounds for a Foundation of Breakwaters)

  • Wave reflection control functions of mound for the foundation of composite and perforated break-waters were investigated through the theoretical considerations. The theory developed is based on a simple summation of components of reflected waves. The applicability of the theory is assured by the comparative studies of the theoretical calculation and experimental data on the sea surface elevation in front of a breakwater. It is found that the reflection is mainly controlled by depth and width of the mound. In the design of composite type perforated breakwaters, the width of perforated part of the upright section can be decreased to less than half of the conventional design width for the same reflection by using the reflection control function of mound part and the reflection can be reduced until less than $30\%$ of that in the composite breakwaters. Using the results, a design method of mounds is proposed, by which the reduction of wave reflection is assured under the given wave conditions.

직립벽 앞에 놓인 일정깊이 잠긴 슬릿판에 의한 반사율 해석 (On an Analysis of Reflection Coefficients by a Partially Immersed Slotted Plate with a Back Wall)

  • 고유함수전개법을 사용하여 수직벽 앞에 일정깊이 잠긴 슬릿판과 규칙파의 상호작용문제를 살펴보았다. 슬릿판에 의한 반사율에 영향을 미치는 주요 설계변수들은 공극율, 잠긴깊이, 챔버길이, 입사각도, 입사파의 주파수임을 확인하였다 슬릿판의 공극율이 0.1일 때 반사율이 전주파수에 걸쳐서 최소가 됨을 밝혔다. 반사율에 대한 해석결과와 Zhu(2001) 모형실험결과를 챔버길이와 잠긴깊이 그리고 입사파의 주기를 변화시키면서 비교한 결과, 두 결과는 서로 잘 일치하였다. 본 해석방법은 슬릿판 후면에서 발생한 박리에 의한 에너지 손실을 정확히 고려할 수 있으므로 슬릿 케이슨 방파제 제작에 필요한 설계정보를 제공할 것이다.
