정련·단접 공정 재현 실험을 통해 생산된 소재 및 부산물의 재료학적 특성 (Material Characteristics of Forge Welded Bar and By-product through Reproduction Experiment to the Refining and Forge Welding Process)

  • 본 연구는 정련 단접 공정을 재현하고 그 과정에서 발생한 강괴 및 단조박편을 단접 횟수에 따라 분류하여 분석하였다. 강괴의 경우 단접 횟수가 증가함에 따라 불순물과 공극률이 26.09%에서 1.8%로 줄었다. 또한 경도는 평균 36.88HV 가량 높아졌다. 이는 금속 조직이 점차 치밀해지는 것을 관찰할 수 있었다. 단조박편의 경우 단접 횟수에 따라 전철량이 높아졌다. XRD 분석 결과 Quartz, Fayalite, $W{\ddot{u}stite$, Magnetite가 관찰되며 횟수가 증가함에 따라 Quartz의 양이 낮아졌다. 또한 단접 횟수가 늘어남에 따라 입상(粒狀)의 $W{\ddot{u}stite$들이 응집(凝集)하여 굵고 긴 백색의 띠 형태로 관찰되었다. 이상의 결과로 정련 단접 공정에서 발생한 강괴 및 단조박편의 횟수별 특징을 알 수 있었으며 향후 고대 제철공정 및 철기 제작기술 체계를 정립할 수 있는 기술 자료로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 본다.

동(Cu) 함유 슬러지로부터 동 전해정련을 이용한 미세 동 분말 합성에 관한 연구 (Study on Synthesis of Fine Copper Powder by Electro-refining from Copper Containing Sludge)

  • 본 연구에서는 동 함유 슬러지로부터 회수된 동 조금속을 황산구리 전해액에서 전해정련 공정 조건을 선택적으로 조절함에 따라 초미세 분말 형태의 동을 회수하고자 하였다. 황산구리 전해액 농도, 인가전류밀도, 첨가제 종류 및 농도에 따라 LSV(Linear Sweep Voltammetry)을 이용하여 초미세 분말 제조가 가능한 인가전류밀도 범위를 설정하여 전해정련 공정을 수행 하였다. 이 때 얻어진 분말에 대해 SEM(Scanning Electron Microscope) 및 PSA(Particle Size Analyzer)를 사용하여 동 분말 형상 및 크기를 분석하였다. 유기첨가제를 사용하지 않은 0.1 ~ 0.4 M 황산구리 전해액 조건에서 동 분말 크기는 인가전류밀도가 한계전류밀도에 가까울수록 감소하였고, 0.2 ~ 0.3 M 황산구리 전해액에서 동 분말 크기가 가장 감소하는 경향을 나타내었다. 또한, 위 실험을 통해 얻은 공정 조건을 바탕으로 유기 첨가제 종류 및 농도를 달리 첨가하여 동 분말 표면 형상 및 크기를 분석하였을 때, Cellulose계 첨가제 2,000 ppm 조건에서 가장 작은 크기(nm급)의 양호한 구형 형태 동 분말을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • The present paper aims to give basic information to establish zero emission material cycle including the minimization of emissions from industrial production processes and the area in regional scale. Strategies and methodologies to analyze emissions from the production processes and our human activities and to reduce those emissions by refining and/or replacing the unit process with the alternatives are introduced as well. Quantitative evaluation and management systems of any raw materials and the production process are from vie points of treatment are essential. Estabiishment of a process networking for the recycle of discharged non-products materials by the intra-process, trans-process and the trans-industries are proposed. Procedures and priorities to formulate industrial and regional zero emission system are proposed as well.

기계적 합금화한 Al-Ti 시료에서 미소상 피이크의 소멸현상과 ${Al_3}Ti$ 형성에 관한 연구 (The Study on Peak Disappearance of Minor Phase and Formation of ${Al_3}Ti$ in Mechanically Alloyed Al-Ti Samples)

  • The refining process and solubility of Ti in Al matrix during mechanical alloying (MA) were investigated by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) as functions of alloy composition, milling time and ball to powder ratio (BPR). Mechanical alloyed samples were annealed for investigating their stability and the formation behavior of$Al_3Ti$in the temperature range from$200{\circ}C$to$600{\circ}C$. It is observed from present experimental that disappearance of Ti peaks in mechanically alloyed Al-10wt%Ti is not simply attributable to the dissolution of Ti into Al, but associated mainly with extreme refining and/or heavy straining of Ti particles The annealing of the mechanically alloyed Al-Ti powders show differences in aluminide formation behavior when Ti content in Al is equal to or less than l0wt% and higher than l5wt%Ti. When Ti-content in Al is equal to or less than l0wt%, the MA powders transform directly to a global equilibrium state forming $DO_{22}- type\;Al_3$Ti above$400{\circ}C$. In the Al-Ti samples with equal to or higher than l5wt%Ti, transitional phases of cubic$Al_3Ti$and tetragonal $Al_{24}Ti_8$ are formed above$400{\circ}C$. They are stable only below$500{\circ}C$, and, $DO_{22}-type\;Al_3Ti$ becomes dominant aluminide at temperature higher than$ 600{\circ}C$.

종이의 특성에 영향하는 펄프 섬유특성의 정량적 해석(I) (Quantitative Analysis of Pulp Fiber Characteristics that Affect Paper Properties(I))

  • Refining is one of the most important processes of fiber treatment that provides optical and physical properties of final paper products. The evaluation method of refining progress is usually freeness (CSF) or wetness (SR) test because of its rapidity and convenience. However, there are some deficiencies in using freeness or wetness test to evaluate pulp fibers accurately because its results are more influenced by fines contents than extent of fibers treatment. The objective of this study is to show the deficiency of wetness in evaluating the refining process. For this, beating is done by varying the beating load. Handsheets are made after beating until 25 and $32^{\circ}C$ SR, and then paper properties are measured. Refined fibers are analyzed by fiber length, fines contents, curl, kink, WRV, and zero-span tensile strength. The results show that longer beating time is required to reach the same wetness at lower beating load. There are differences in the average fiber length, distribution curve of fiber length, fines contents, curl, kink, WRV of long fiber fraction, drainage time, and zero-span tensile strength of rewetted sample at different beating load. At the low beating load in the same wetness, apparent density, breaking length, burst strength, and tear strength are higher, while opacity and air permeability are lower than those of the high beating load. Using Page s equation, which shows the relationship among tensile strength, intrinsic fiber strength, and interfiber bonding strength, interfiber bonding strength is calculated and analyzed to explain final paper properties. At $25^{\circ}C$ SR, interfiber bonding strength is only slightly higher at 2.5kgf beating load, while the intrinsic fiber strength is substantially higher. At $32^{\circ}C$ SR, intrinsic fiber strength is a little bit higher at 2.5kgf beating load, and interfiber bonding strength is remarkably higher than those of 5.6kgf beating load. These results can be used to explain the different properties of the final paper at selected beating loads.

납의 제련 및 리사이클링 현황 (Current Status of Lead Smelting and Recycling)

  • 납은 현대산업에서 범용적으로 사용되는 비철금속이다. 전세계의 납 생산량은 1970년대의 약 500만 톤에서 점차 증가하여 2010년대에는 1,100만 톤까지 이르렀다. 특히 납은 품질의 저하없이 100 % 리사이클링할 수 있는 금속으로, 납 스크랩을 리사이클링하면 1차 지금 생산과 비교하여 에너지 및 환경부하를 현저하게 저감할 수 있다. 이러한 이유로 전세계 납 사용량의 약 60 %는 리사이클링으로부터 공급되고 있다. 주로 납축전지인 납 스크랩은 1차 제련소나 2차제련소에서 정련하고 있다. 대부분의 2차 제련은 용광로와 같은 샤프트로, 회전로, 그리고 반사로에서 이루어 지고 있다. 2차 제련에서 생산된 조연은 잉곳으로 주조하거나 케틀로에서 재용해하여 정제를 하지만, 용융상태의 조연에서 곧바로 정련을 하기도 한다. 본 연구에서는 납의 1차지금 생산 및 리사이클링 공정에 대해 고찰하였다.

제지식 판상엽의 공정 개선 연구 (A study on the Process Improvement of Papermade Reconstituted Tobacco)

  • The reconstituted tobacco leaves(RTL) playa major part in the control of the low density and tar cigarette. Reconstituted tobacco manufactured by the papermaking process has much higher filling power than homogenized tobacco manufactured by slurry and rolling process. Fragile reconstituted tobaccos are liable to lead to small particles detrimental for filling power so they must be properly flexible. This work was conducted to determine the effect of CaCO$_3$ addition in paper-making process on the filling power and the flexibility of the reconstituted tobacco and to obtain the fundamental informations for improving the quality of domestic reconstituted tobacco. We analyzed the wood fiber species, the filler level, the fiber length, the fineness level and observed the surface of the RTL. From the obtained results, we could determine that foreign reconstituted tobacco was manufactured by blending softwood with hardwood and over 8% of calcium carbonate at the addition level. The domestic RTL has much higher fine fiber level by 23.2 % than that of foreign, so the refining treatment process and the condition must be reoptimized for the improvement of RTL quality.

Biodiesel Refining and Glycerin Recovering Process of Transesterification from Tra Catfish Fat

  • Nowadays, Tra catfish fat is given attention as an appropriate material for biodiesel production in Vietnam. The aim of this work is to investigate the optimal conditions of refining biodiesel and recovering glycerin by the transesterification from Tra catfish fat using KOH catalyst. As our results, the yield of transesterification was achieved to 94.17% at $50^{\circ}C$ for 45 min with 6:1 molar ratio of methanol to fat in the presence of 0.8% KOH catalyst, and wherein the biodiesel was refined by washing with distilled water at $70^{\circ}C$ and dried in a microwave oven. The yield of raw glycerin recoveries from the transesterification process was 78.58%. The purity of raw glycerin was 84.14% by the conditions of neutralization state with $H_{3}PO_{4}$ solution (pH = 5), $70^{\circ}C$, and 60 min. Activated carbon (3.0 wt.%) was used for the bleaching process at $80^{\circ}C$ for 20 min. The biodiesel was obtained in accordance with for ASTM D 6751 (biodiesel standard). The ash and water of raw glycerins were 7.32 and 8.01%, respectively, and implied that the raw glycerin is very promising candidate to be used as a raw material for textile and cosmetic industries.

모델링 탐구 활동에서의 대학생의 모델링 유형 분석 및 인식 (The Analysis of University Student's Modeling Patterns and Perceptions Through Modeling Experiments)

  • 대학교 1학년 학생들을 대상으로 모델링 탐구 실험을 적용하여 질적 연구 방법으로 학생들의 모델링 사고 유형을 알아보았다. 학생들의 모델링 과정은 'Refining tentative model(임시 모델 정교화)', 'Accepting alternative model(대안 모델 채택)', 'Discarding tentative model(임시 모델 폐기)', 'Failing to find causes(원인 규명 실패)', 'Disbelieving results(실험 결과 불신)'의 다섯 가지 유형으로 나누어진다. 학생들은 모델링 탐구 활동을 통하여 과학자의 사고 과정을 경험하여 모델의 본성과 의미를 이해하였고, 이것은 학생들이 과학 지식의 본성을 이해하고, 스스로 탐구할 수 있는 기초가 될 것이다.

사전검수 영역기반 정합법을 활용한 영상좌표 상호등록 (Automated Image Co-registration Using Pre-qualified Area Based Matching Technique)

  • Image co-registration is the process of overlaying two images of the same scene, one of which represents a reference image, while the other is geometrically transformed to the one. In order to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the co-registration approach, the author proposed a pre-qualified area matching algorithm which is composed of feature extraction with canny operator and area matching algorithm with cross correlation coefficient. For refining matching points, outlier detection using studentized residual was used and iteratively removes outliers at the level of three standard deviation. Throughout the pre-qualification and the refining processes, the computation time was significantly improved and the registration accuracy is enhanced. A prototype of the proposed algorithm was implemented and the performance test of 3 Landsat images of Korea showed: (1) average RMSE error of the approach was 0.436 Pixel (2) the average number of matching points was over 38,475 (3) the average processing time was 489 seconds per image with a regular workstation equipped with a 3 GHz Intel Pentium 4 CPU and 1 Gbytes Ram. The proposed approach achieved robustness, full automation, and time efficiency.
