Analysis of Deep-Trap States in GaN/InGaN Ultraviolet Light-Emitting Diodes after Electrical Stress

  • We analyzed the deep-trap states of GaN/InGaN ultraviolet light-emitting diodes (UV LEDs) before and after electrical stress. After electrical stress, the light output power dropped by 5.5%, and the forward leakage current was increased. The optical degradation mechanism could be explained based on the space-charge-limited conduction (SCLC) theory. Specifically, for the reference UV LED (before stress), two sets of deep-level states which were located 0.26 and 0.52 eV below the conduction band edge were present, one with a density of $2.41{\times}10^{16}$ and the other with a density of $3.91{\times}10^{16}cm^{-3}$. However, after maximum electrical stress, three sets of deep-level states, with respective densities of $1.82{\times}10^{16}$, $2.32{\times}10^{16}cm^{-3}$, $5.31{\times}10^{16}cm^{-3}$ were found to locate at 0.21, 0.24, and 0.50 eV below the conduction band. This finding shows that the SCLC theory is useful for understanding the degradation mechanism associated with defect generation in UV LEDs.

서울시 학교급식시설 조리종사자의 직무 스트레스와 근골격계질환 (Job Stress and Musculoskeletal Disorder in Seoul City's School Foodservice Employees)

  • Purpose: School foodservice employees (SFEs) could be exposed to the risk of musculoskeletal disease and of job stress due to their job characteristics. This study was to evaluate the level of job stress and the prevalence of work-related musculoskeletal symptoms (WRMS) in Seoul city's SFEs, and to determine associations between job stress and WRMS. Methods: The study design was cross-sectional, and 975 SFEs were recruited. Self-administered questionnaire included the 'Korean occupational stress scale-short form' and the 'KOSHA GUIDE H-9-2012' instrument to evaluate the job stress and WRMS, respectively. SFEs' medians of job stress were compared to the reference values of published study in Korean workers. Results: The participants reported greater levels of job demand and physical environment than the general Korean population. WRMS were reported in 89.0% of participants at any body part, and 41.1% were presumed to need for medical intervention. High levels of job demand and of physical environment were significantly associated with WRMS. Conclusion: Subscales of job demand and physical environment were relatively high in SFEs and those were related to the occurrence of WRMS. To reduce the WRMS prevalence, a job stress management program focused on job demand and physical environment may be required.

  • Structural stress approach is well known as a mesh-size insensitive fatigue assessment method by using finite element analyses. It is, however, difficult to estimate the structural stress (SS) at weld end points due to stress singularities when shell elements are used. In this study, fatigue evaluations with longitudinal load carrying box fillet weldment under out-of-plane bending load have been performed by using virtual node method (VNM) in order to avoid the problem, which is called the weld end effect. Various combinations of virtual node parameters, such as reference point and virtual node locations, are investigated for the estimation of proper structural stress values applying VNM in a systematic manner. The appropriate guidance of virtual node parameter has been offered for the fillet weldment considered in the study. The structural stress values obtained by VNM have also been validated by comparing the result with finite element model including weld bead. Moreover, the fatigue strength of the fillet weldment based on the equivalent structural stress is shown to be consistent with the master S-N curve.

COVID-19 팬데믹 상황이 임신부의 스트레스에 미치는 영향: 통합적 문헌고찰 (COVID-19 Pandemic Effect on Maternal Stress Level: An Integrative Literature Review)

  • 본 연구는 통합적 문헌고찰을 통해 COVID-19 팬데믹 상황에서의 임신부 스트레스의 특징을 파악하고자 하였다. 자료수집은 2020년부터 출간된 문헌 중 영어 또는 한글로 발표된 논문들을 대상으로 2023년 5월 1일부터 2023년 8월 10일까지 수행하였다. 문헌검색은 PubMed, Embase, Cochrane library, CINAHL의 국외 검색엔진과 RISS, KISS, 국회도서관의 국내 검색엔진을 사용하였는데, 'pregnan*', 'maternity', 'COVID', 'corona', 'pandemic', 'infection', 'stress'코로나, '팬데믹', '감염', 및 '스트레스'의 검색어를 조합하여 실시하였고, 질평가를 거쳐 최종 13편의 문헌이 선정되었다. COVID-19 팬데믹 상황에서 임신부 스트레스 정도는 대체로 증가하였으며, 임신부 스트레스 주요 요인으로는 임신부의 의학적 상태, 정신심리적 요인, 사회경제적 요인이 있었다. COVID-19 팬데믹 상황 하에서 임신부를 대상으로 이루어진 스트레스 감소 중재는 비대면 교육 및 훈련이 효과적인 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 신종 감염재난 상황을 대비할 수 있는 스트레스 감소 프로그램 개발의 토대가 될 수 있을 것이라 사료된다.

방문요양 행위 업무량의 상대적 가치 측정 (Measuring Workload of Home Visit Care Activities Using Relative Values)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to measure the workload of home visit care activities and their relative values. This study examined also factors that affect the workload of home visit care activities. Methods : The participants of this study were 126 home-helpers of 50 home visit care agencies at the 2nd Long-term Care Insurance Demonstration Project. The workload of home visit care activities was divided into total work and four dimensions ; physical efforts, mental efforts, stress and time. Home visit care activities consisted of four categories with 24 items. We used magnitude estimation method to measure their relative values of the four dimensions. The participants answered the relative values of each activities based on the reference service. We used the activity for supporting their elderly's evacuation as the reference service. Results : Most of the respondents were over 40 years old female. They consumed most their time supporting elderly's going out. They consumed their highest physical, mental efforts, and stress for activities of coping with emergency situation. The Pearson correlation coefficients showed significant relationships between workload and each dimensions. This study showed that all four dimensions are statistically significant predictors of workload of home visit care activities. Also, we found that the home-helper's career affects the workload of home visit care activities. Conclusions : The workload of home visit care activities could be explained by physical efforts, mental efforts, stress and time.

Gene Expression Analysis and Polymorphism Discovery to Investigate Drought Responsive System in Tropical Maize

  • Maize has high food and industrial value, whereas has difficulties in research because of their complex and huge size genome. Nested association mapping (NAM) was constructed to better understand maize genetics. However, most studies were conducted using the reference genome B73, and only a few studies were conducted on tropical maize. Ki3, one of the founder lines of the NAM population, is a tropical maize. We analyzed the genetic characteristics of Ki3 by using RNA sequencing and bioinformatics tools for various genetic studies. As results, a total of 30,526 genes were expressed, and expression profile were constructed. A total of 1,558 genes were differentially expressed in response to drought stress, and 513 contigs of them come from de novo assemblies. In addition, high-density polymorphisms including 464,930 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), 21,872 multiple nucleotide polymorphisms (MNPs) and 93,313 insertions and deletions (InDels) were found compared to reference genome. Among them, 15.0 % of polymorphisms (87,838) were passed non-synonymous test which could alter amino acid sequences. The variants have 66,550 SNPs, 5,853 MNPs, and 14,801 InDels, also proportion of homozygous type was higher than heterozygous. These variants were found in a total of 15,643 genes. Of these genes, 637 genes were found as differentially expressed genes (DEGs) under drought stress. Our results provide a genome-wide analysis of differentially expressed genes and information of variants on expressed genes of tropical maize under drought stress. Further characterization of these changes in genetic regulation and genetic traits will be of great value for improvement of maize genetics.

탁수조건에 따른 피라미 치자어의 생존률 비교 (Comparison of Larval Fish Survival of Pale chub (Zacco platypus) Exposed to Different Levels Turbidity)

  • 본 연구에서는 탁수농도에 따라 생물서식지에 영향을 주는 스트레스 지수를 활용하여 탁수에 대한 어류영향실험을 수행하였다. 국내 하천에서 우점비율이 가장 높은 피라미를 대상으로 발생단계별로 탁수에 대한 모의실험을 수행한 결과 발생 초기단계에서는 탁수에 대한 반응이 민감하게 나타났지만 성체단계에 이르면서 고탁수에 대한 적응하는 것으로 나타났다. 그 외 어종에 대한 탁수반응은 어종별 내성도에 따라 다르게 나타난다. 따라서 본 연구결과는 향후 수생태 건강성평가와 연계하여 하천의 건강성상태를 결정한 후, 평가등급에 따라 탁수에 대한 농도와 배출 허용기간을 적용하는데 유용한 지표가 될 것으로 기대한다.

Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress Protein Expression in Selected Organs of Limanda yokohamae from Masan-Jinhae Bay, Korea

  • Changes in stress-associated biomolecules can be used as an important criterion for assessing the levels of environmental pollution because living organisms demonstrate contamination-stimulated stress responses. This study was conducted to determine the environmental status of Masan-Jinhae Bay, Korea, and its effects on marine organisms by investigating the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) dysfunction in the organs of the flat fish, Limanda yokohamae. ER dysfunction was evaluated via Western blot analysis of the ER stress proteins, immunoglobulin heavy chain binding protein (BiP) and C/EBP-homologous protein (CHOP), and the ER stress-associated protein caspase-12. The results showed that the amount of BiP and CHOP immunoreactivity in the flat fish from the bay area was much greater than that from the Gangneung, as a reference site. Similar to the ER stress proteins, the immunoreactivity of caspase-12 was also found to be elevated in the bay area when compared with that of Gangneung. These data suggest that the environmental status of Masan-Jinhae Bay induces the ER stress response, which is able to lead to phenotypic changes in marine organisms including fish.

광주지역 일부 대학생에서 식생활 요인과 스트레스 인지수준과의 상관관계 (Relationships of Dietary Behavioral Factors and Stress Perception Levels in College Students in Gwang-ju City)

  • The purpose of this study was to estimate the relationships between dietary factors and the stress perception levels of College students. A survey was conducted in June, 2010, targeting 332 college students in Gwangju. General environmental factors, stress perception levels, dietary behaviors, and dietary action guide performance of the subjects were evaluated by questionnaire, and food intakes was determined by the 24-hour recall method. The results are summarized as follows.: The score of frequency experiencing was $45.1{\pm}16.9$ for male students, and $47.0{\pm}16.7$ for female students. The importance scores were $50.8{\pm}18.5$ for males, and $53.3{\pm}18.7$ for females. The total score for dietary action guide performance was $39.6{\pm}7.2$ for males and $40.6{\pm}6.5$ for females. Nutrient intake levels were evaluated based on dietary reference intake (DRI), revealing energy intakes to be 68.5% EER in males and 73.9% in females. The mean intakes of nutrient were 54.2% RI for calcium, 73.6% RI for riboflavin, and 51.2% RI for vitamin C but 203.6% AI for sodium, which indicates an imbalance in nutrient intake. Analysis of the correlations between stress perception levels and dietary factors, scholarship achievements, financial problems, future problems, value senses, and family relationships revealed significant correlations with general environment factors, dietary behaviors, Dietary action guide performance, and nutrient intakes (p<0.05). The higher the stress perception levels of the students, the higher the energy, coffee and alcohol intake, which predicts that appropriate stress control in college students will lead to better dietary habits. It is expected that the results above will be used as basic data for the development of proper nutrition education programs and stress control strategies.

원자력발전소용 전자기기함을 위한 내진검증 해석 모델 개발연구 (Development of Model for Seismic Qualification of Electronic Enclosure for Nuclear Power Plant)

  • 이 논문은 내진검증을 수행하기 위한 유한요소 모델의 개발에 대하여 논의한다. 모델개발에 사용된 기기는 미국의 아칸사스 원자력 발전소의 전자기기 함으로써 유한요소해석 모델개발 과정을 보여준다. 증명된 모델은 진동수 50Hz 이하의 모든 주요모드에서 고유진동수가 5% 이내의 정확치를 가져온다. 유한요소모델은 질점질량과 강성도 방법을 사용한 COSMOSM 이라는 소프트웨어를 채용하여 수학적 모델의 eigenvalue 해석 및 동적해석이 수행되었다. 이 모델은 지정된 하중조건에서 AISC에서 규정한 허용응력치 이하를 나타내었다. 이모델에서 얻는 값들은 참고문헌에서 나타내는 내진 규정에 잘 부합하였다.
