Langmuir-Blodgett법으로 제조한 기능성 폴리이미드 초박막의 전기화학적 특성 (Electrochemical Properties of Ultrathin Film Prepared Functional Polyimide by Langmuir-Blodgett Method)

  • We investigated the electrochemical properties for Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films of functionalized polyimide. LB films of polyimide monolayer were deposited by the Langmuir-Blodgett method on the indium tin oxide(ITO) glass. The electrochemical properties measured by cyclic voltammetry with a three-electrode system(an Ag/AgCl reference electrode, a platinum wire counter electrode and LB film-coated ITO working electrode) at various concentrations(0.5, 1.0, and 1.5 N) of $NaClO_4$ solution. The current of reduction and oxidation range was measured from 1650 mV to -1350 mV, continuously. The scan rates were 50, 100 and 150 mV/s, respectively. As a result, monolayer and multilayer LB films of polyimide are appeared on irreversible process caused by the oxidation current from the cyclic voltammogram.

  • We give pressure stimulation into organic thin films and then manufacture a device under the accumulation condition that the state surface pressure is 10[mN/m]. In processing of a device manufacture, we can see the process is good from the change of a surface pressure for organic thin films and transfer ratio of area per molecule. The structure of manufactured device is Au/Poly-$\gamma$ Benzyl $_D$-Glutamate/Al; the number of accumulated layers is 1, 3, 5 and 7. Also, we then examined of the MIM device by means of I-V. The I-V characteristic of the device is measured from 0 to +2[V]. We determined electrochemical measurement by using cyclic voltammetry with a three-electrode system. LB film accumulated by monolayer on an ITO. In the cyclicvoltammetry, An Ag/AgCl reference electrode, a platinum wire counter electrode and LB film-coated ITO working electrode measured in $LiBF_4$ solution, stable up to 0.9V vs. Ag/AgCl.

  • We carried out this subject to observe electrochemical properties of 1,2-dioleoyl-sn- glycero-3-phosphocholine(DOPC) mixed with fatty acid containing azobenzene group by using cyclic voltammetry with a three-electrode system, An Ag/AgCl reference electrode, a platinum wire counter electrode and LB film-coated ITO working electrode in $NaClO_4$ solution. We investigated the photoisomerization and electrochemical property of the organic ultra thin film of fatty acid containing azobenzene was prepared on the hydrophilic ITO(idium tin oxide) glass plate by LB method. As a result, the absorption spectra of BASH and DOPC of mixture LB films was induced to photoisomerization by alternating irradiation of ultraviolet and visible light. A measuring range was reduced from initial potential to -1350mV, continuously oxidized to 1650 mV and measured to the initial point. The scan rate were 50, 100, 150 and 200 mV/s. As a results, LB films of BASH-DMPC appeared reversible process caused by the reduction-oxidation current from the cyclic voltammogram.

Selection of Mediators for Bioelectrochemical Nitrate Reduction

  • The bioelectrochemical reduction of nitrate in the presence of various mediators including methyl viologen and azure A was studied using a 3-electrode voltammetric system. The catalytic potential for the reduction of the mediators was observed in the reactor, which for methyl viologen and azure A were -0.74 V and -0.32 V, respectively, with respect to the potential of Ag/AgCl reference electrode. This potential was then applied to a working electrode to reduce each mediator for enzymatic nitrate reduction. Nitrite, the product of the reaction, was measured to observe the enzymatic nitrate reduction in the reaction media. Methyl viologen was observed as the most efficient mediator among those tested, while azure A showed the highest electron efficiency at the intrinsic reduction potential when the mediated enzyme reactions were carried out with the freely solubilized mediator. The electron transfer of azure A with respect to time was due to the adhesion of azure A to the hydrophilic surface during the reduction. In addition, the use of the adsorbed mediator on conductive activated carbon was proposed to inhibit the change in the electron transfer rate during the reaction by maintaining a constant mediator concentration and active surface area of the electrode. Azure A showed better than nitrite formation than methyl viologen when used with activated carbon.

  • We investigated the electrochemical properties for Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) films mixed with l-bromotetradecane(Cl4), l-bromohexadecane(Cl6), and l-bromooctadecane(Cl8). The alkyl bromides mixture was deposited by using the Langmuir-Blodgett method on the ITO glass. The electrochemical properties measured by using cyclic voltammetry with a three-electrode system(an Ag/AgCl reference electrode, a platinum wire counter electrode and LB film-coated ITO working electrode) at various concentrations(0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 N) of $NaClO_4$ solution. A measuring range was reduced from initial potential to -1350 m V, continuously oxidized to 1650 mV. The scan rate was 100 mV/s. As a result, LB films of Cl4, Cl6, and Cl8 mixture monolayers appeared irreversible process caused by only the oxidation current from the cyclic voltammogram. The diffusivity(D) effect of LB films decreased with increasing of alkyl bromides amount.

유기초박막의 산화-환원 반응에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Oxidation-reduction Reaction of Organic Thin Films)

  • We investigated the electrochemical properties for Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films mixed with 4-octyl-4'-(5-carboxylpentamethyleneoxy)azobenzene (denoted as 8A5H) and phospholipid(L-a-dimyristoylphosphatidylcholine, denoted as DMPC and L-a-dilauroylphosphayidylcholine, denoted as DLPC). The LB films of 8A5H, 8A5H-DMPC and 8A5H-DLPC mixture monolayers were deposited by using the LB method on the indium tin oxide(ITO) glass. The electrochemical properties measured by using cyclic voltammetry with a three-electrode system, an Ag/AgCl reference electrode, a platinum wire counter electrode and LB film-coated ITO working electrode at various concentrations(0.1, 0.5, and 1.0 mol/L) of $NaClO_4$ solution. A measuring range was reduced from initial potential to -1350 mV, continuously oxidized to 1650 mV and measured to the initial point. The scan rates were 50, 100, 150 and 200 mV/s, respectively. As a result, LB films of 8A5H and 8A5H-DLPC mixture monolayers appeared irreversible process caused by only the oxidation current from the cyclic voltammogram and LB films of 8A5H-DMPC monolayer mixture was found to be caused by a reversible oxidation-reduction process.

개방형 우물 구조를 이용한 마이크로머신형 pH 센서 (Micromachined pH Sensor Using Open Well Structures)

  • 수용액에 포함된 수소이온$(H^+)$의 농도를 측정하는 유리 전극형 수소이용 농도(pH) 센서의 기본 구조를 bulk micromachining 기술로 구현하여 소형의 pH 센서를 제작하였다. 박막 증착이 가능한 경사 식각으로 개방된 2개의 기본 구조물을 형성하고, 일정 전위를 유지하기 위한 기준전극은 식각된 구조물 경사면에 박막형 Ag/AgCl으로 확보하였다. $H^+$과 교환 반응으로 전위를 발생시키는 감응부는 Na이 20%이상 포함된 glass로 $100{\mu}m$ 내외로 미세 연마하여 기본 구조물에 접합하여 완성하였다. 또한 외부 용액과 기준 용액의 혼합을 방지하면서 전류 도통 역할을 하는 액간 접촉부는 $50{\mu}m{\times}50{\mu}m$ 크기의 Si 이방성 식각 부분에 한천을 삽입하고 난 다음 기존의 구조물에 접합하여 형성하였다. 각 구조물을 완성한 다음 2M 농도의 KCI 기준 용액을 구조물에 채우고, 상용 에폭시로 센서 구조물을 밀봉하여 센서를 완성하였다. 제작된 pH 센서들은 표준 pH 용액에 대하여 약 90mV/pH의 전위값이 측정되었다.

Acetonitrile에서의 Mg-EBT$^-$ 착물에 관한 연구 (Studies of Magnesium-Eriochrome Black T Complex in Acetonitrile)

  • Mg(II)과 Eriochrome Black T가 Acetonitrile용액속에서 반응하여 만든 착물을 일정한 이온의 세기와 일정한 수소이온농도에서 분광광도법으로 연구했다. 유리전극과 Ag/0.1 M $AgNO_3$기준전극쌍을 써서 Acetonitrile 용액속에서 측정한 pH 값은 표준완충용액으로 검정했으며 그 결과는 다음과 같다. Picric acid$-10^{-3}M$ tetramethylammonium picrate 완충용액에 있어서는 은기준전극에 대한 유리 전극의 $25^{\circ}C$에서의 전위는 $E_{glass}=716+59.1logA_{H+}[mv]$이고, 1,3-Diphenylguanidine$-3{\times}10^{-3}M $1,3-diphenylguanidine perchlorate 완충용액에서는 $E_{glass}=1,193+59.1 logA_{H+}[mv]$이다. 리간드 Eriochrome Black T의 산해리지수$ pK_{H,EBT-}$는 9.1이었으며, 반응 $H_mEBT^{(3-m)-} + Mg^{2+} {\leftrightarrow}MgEBT^{-} + mH^{+}$ 으로 생성된 착물 $MgEBT^{-}$의 조건안정도상수를 log-ratio method으로 구하니 m이 2일때는 $logK_{MgEBT^-} + 3.97$이고, m이 1일 때는 $logK_{MgEBT^-} + 5.02$이었다. 착물의 조성은 수용액에서 Schwarzenbach씨 등이 구한 결과와 같이 비수용매 Acetonitrile속에서도 한 종류의 착물 $MgEBT^{-}$만이 생성됨을 알 수 있었다.

FET센서 감도 향상 측정을 위한 최적화 (Optimization for Higher Sensitive Measurements of FET-type Sensors)

  • 전계 효과 트랜지스터(FET) 기반의 이온 또는 바이오센서에 대한 연구는 지금까지 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 여러 가지 측정 방법 중에 FET 게이트 절연체 위의 감지막과 이온 또는 생분자의 상호작용으로 전하 분포의 변화가 일어나면 이로 인해 드레인 전류의 변화를 측정하는 방법을 기반으로, 동일한 입력 신호, 즉 동일한 이온 또는 생분자의 농도에 대해 최적의 출력 신호를 얻기 위한 방법에 대해 논의한다. 대표적인 FET 센서는 이온 감지 FET (ISFET)로 본 논문에서는 pH를 측정하는 센서를 이용하였다. ISFET는 게이트 전압 대신 기준전극 전압을 가하는데 이 기준전극 전압과 드레인 전류의 관계식을 측정하여, 가장 기울기가 큰 곳을 찾아 이를 기준으로 동작범위에서의 입력 변화에 대해 출력 신호인 포화영역에서 드레인 전류의 변화가 큰 조건을 설정해 보았다.
