0.35㎛ CMOS 저전압 저전력 기준 전압 및 전류 발생회로 (0.35㎛ CMOS Low-Voltage Low-Power Voltage and Current References)

  • 본 논문에서는 저전압, 저전력 회로에 적합한 2가지 유형의 기준전압 발생회로와 1가지 유형의 기준전류 발생회로를 제안하고, $0.35{\mu}m\;CMOS$ 공정을 이용하여 설계하였다. 저전압, 저전력 특성을 얻기 위해 약반전(weak inversion) 영역에서 동작하는 MOS 트랜지스터를 사용하고, bulk-driven 기법을 이용하였다. 첫 번째 기준전압 발생회로는 1.2V의 공급전압에서 1.43uA의 전류를 소비하며, 585mV의 기준전압과 $6ppm/^{\circ}C$의 온도특성을 갖는다. 두 번째 기준전압 발생회로는 0.3V의 공급전압에서 48pW의 전력을 소비하며, 172mV의 기준전압과 $26ppm/^{\circ}C$의 온도특성을 갖는다. 기준전류 발생회로는 0.75V의 공급전압에서 246nA의 전류를 소비하며, 32.6nA의 기준전류와 $262ppm/^{\circ}C$의 온도특성을 갖는다. 모의실험을 통해 설계된 기준회로들의 성능을 검증하였다.

  • As infrared light is radiated, the CMOS Readout IC (ROIC) for the microbolometer type infrared sensor detects voltage or current when the resistance value in the bolometer sensor varies. One of the serious problems in designing the ROIC is that resistances in the bolometer and reference resistor have process variation. This means that each pixel does not have the same resistance, causing serious fixed pattern noise problems in sensor operations. In this paper, Reference resistor compensation technique was proposed. This technique is to compensate the reference resistance considering the process variation, and it has the same reference resistance value as a bolometer cell resistance by using a comparator and a cross coupled latch.

  • Digital Kalman filter is presented as a powerful approach to obtain the reference estimation of the control current for shunt active power filter. This algorithm provides the best estimate of the fundamental and harmonic frequency components from the sampled values of the line current or voltage. By adopting of the digital Kalman filtering algorithm, the structure of the control algorithm eliminates the need of a Phase locked loop(PLL) for the synchronization of the reference signal used in the compensation and it not sensitive to the distortion of the line voltage. The effectiveness of the algorithm is confirmed by the computer simulations.

  • In this paper, a real-time digital kalman filtering algorithm is used to obtain the reference estimation of the control current for shunt active power filter.   • This paper presents an integrative control scheme for series-type active power filters combined with shunt passive filters not only to compensate for the source voltage unbalance and current harmonics but also to correct the power factor. To reduce the power capacity of the active filters, passive filters are connected in parallel. Diode rectifiers are replaced by the PWM converters in order to feed the real power back to the source. Power factor control is performed by changing the phase of the load voltage so that the phase of the source current coincides with that of the source voltage. The resultant voltage reference is the addition of the voltage component compensating for the source voltage unbalance and harmonic currents and the voltage component correcting the power factor. The validity of the proposed algorithm has been verified by experimental results.

  • NDIR $CO_2$ gas sensor was built with ASIC implemented thermopile sensor which included temperature sensor and unique elliptical waveguide structures in this paper. The temperature dependency of dual infrared sensor module ($CO_2$ and reference IR sensors) has been characterized and its output voltage characteristics according to the temperature and gas concentration were proposed for the first time. NDIR $CO_2$ gas and reference IR sensors showed linear output voltages according to the variation of ambient temperatures from 243 K to 333 K and their slopes were 14.2 mV/K and 8.8 mV/K, respectively. The output voltages of temperature sensor also presented a linear dependency according to the ambient temperature and could be described with V(T)=-3.191+0.0148T(V). The output voltage ratio between $CO_2$ and reference IR sensors revealed irrelevant to the changes of ambient temperatures and gave a constant value around 1.6255 with standard deviation 0.008 at 0 ppm. The output voltage of $CO_2$ gas sensor at zero ppm $CO_2$ gas consisted of two components; one is caused by the HPB (half pass-band) of IR filter and the other is attributed to the part of $CO_2$ absorption wavelength. The characteristics of output voltages of $CO_2$ gas sensor could be accurately modeled with three parameters which are dependent upon the ambient temperatures and represented small average error less than 1.5% with 5% standard deviation.

  • 본 논문에서는 3개의 선형 전류 레귤레이터 그리고 자동 기준 전압 조절과 출력 전압 조절 루프를 포함하는 LED 배면광 드라이버 IC를 제안한다. 제안한 LED 드라이버에서 출력전압은 이중 피드백 루프를 통해 제어된다. 첫 번째 루프는 출력전압을 감지하고 조절하며, 두 번째 루프는 선형 전류 레귤레이터의 전압 강하를 감지하고 기준전압을 조정한다. 이러한 피드백 루프와, 선형 전류 레귤레이터의 전압강하는 드라이버 효율이 최대가 될 수 있는 최소값으로 유지된다. 드라이버의 출력은 각 채널당 4개의 LED를 가지는 3개의 채널 LED 구조이다. 휘도는 펄스 폭 변조(PWM) dimming 신호에 의해 조절된다. 제안한 드라이버는 0.35um의 60-V 고전압 공정에서 설계되었고, 측정 결과 최대 85% 정도의 효율을 가진다.

  • This paper suggests a control algorithm of 3-phase 3-wire series active power filter. This suggested algorithm can compensate source harmonics and reactive power in 3-phase 3-wire power distribution systems. These harmonics are generated by nonlinear loads such as diode rectifiers and thyristor converters. This control algorithm extracts a compensation voltage reference from performance function without phase transformation. Therefore, this control algorithm is simpler than any other conventional control algorithms. 3-phase 3-wire series active power filters which have a harmonic voltage source and a harmonic current source are manufactured and experiments are carried out to verify the effectiveness of suggested control algorithm.

  • A time-delay compensation method for vector control system is proposed that can compensate for voltage and current distortions resulting from a time delay in the overall system due to the low pass filter, hysteresis control inverter, microprocessor program computation time, and so on. The proposed scheme estimates the time delay using the difference between the Q-axis stator current command and the time-delayed actual Q-axis stator current in a synchronous reference frame, then compensates the time delay in the voltage and current using the angular displacement of a DQ transformation. Accordingly, the proposed scheme can accurately compensate for the time delay related to the overall system, thereby significantly improving the performance of the vector control system, as verified by simulation and experiment.

  • This paper deals with a new and improved control technique for shunt active filters (AF) used for compensating unwanted harmonic currents injected in the mains due to nonlinear varying loads. This work is motivated by the need to find a permanent solution to the rigorous hit and trial method for evaluating system parameters in an indirect control of AF. A fuzzy pre-compensated PI (Proportional-Integral) controller is used to fuzzify the reference DC voltage of AF to the controller input so that the overshoots and undershoots in its DC link voltage are minimized and the settling time is improved. A three-phase diode rectifier with R-L (Resistive-Inductive) load is used as a non-linear load to study the effectiveness of the proposed controller of the AF. Robustness to filter parameter variations, insensitivity to controller parameter variations, and transient response has been taken as performance evaluation parameters. The results are shown through simulations in Matlab using power system block sets to demonstrate the capability of the proposed controller of the AF.
