Squash Athlete's Perception and Emotional Response on the Referee's Judgment (스쿼시 심판판정에 대한 선수들의 인식과 정서 반응)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore players' perception and emotional reaction toward referee's judgment. The participants of this study were six players (three male and three female) in 2016 national team. The results of this study are as follows: First, the differences in referee judgement were dependant on referees' subjective view point, rapid judging capability, qualification and experience. Second, we found that the a referee's judgement less affected match's results. The countermeasures against the adverse referee judgment include excitement, appeal, flow interruption, thought conversion, and concentration. Third, there were many opinions that both the degree of influence of the referee's judgement and the countermeasures was such that athletes were "not affected". In conclusion, the major determinant of players' performance were game strategy and accuracy of skill although the referee's judgement affected player's emotional reaction both in positive and negative ways.

A Case Study of Effects of the Stress of a Judo Referee and Job Satisfaction (유도 심판의 스트레스가 직무만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examined 149 referees participating in the field of Judo judgment in 2013. 98 referees of the 1st level (65.8%), 18 referees of the 2nd level (12.1%) and 33 international referees (22.1%) were used as the final valid sample. To evaluate the basic background of referees, 7 categories, such as gender, age, Judo, and a referee career, a coaching career, the level of referee, and occupation were examined. In addition, 25 questions in 6 categories, such as misjudgment 4 questions, special consideration 4 questions, claims for judgment 9 questions, physical fitness burden 3 questions, disloyalty at home 3 questions, a lack of conditions 2 questions were tested for the stress of a judo referee. 20 questions in 4 categories, such as peer satisfaction 5 questions, salary satisfaction 5 questions, atmosphere satisfaction 6 questions, and working satisfaction 4 questions, were examined for job satisfaction as a referee in the field of Judo judgment. In particular, the effects of the factors causing stress for a referee and efforts to release the stress are explored. Based on the methods and data mentioned above, the results of this analysis were determined.

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to analyze trends related to sports and artificial intelligence (AI) to understand the trends and how they change according to time, and to establish methods to apply AI in sports. Both macro and micro perspectives related to sports utilization of AI were analyzed. Method: In this study, after analyzing and discussing various information related to the use of artificial intelligence in the sports through a search of academic journals, papers, books, and websites published recently at nationally and internationally, the application plan of artificial intelligence in the sports field was presented. Results: 1) Motion analysis technology using artificial intelligence is effective in sports where posture is important, and if it provides systematic feedback and training methods, it can help improve performance. 2) The introduction of a sports referee judgment system using artificial intelligence is expected to improve performance by restoring factual judgment and objective fairness in sports games. 3) Artificial intelligence will provide coaching staff and players with a variety of information to help improve performance through systematic coaching and improving feedback and enhanced training methods. 4) It is judged that artificial intelligence-related to sports ethics, sports ICT, sports marketing, sports prediction, etc. We think that based on the current AI research trends will have a positive impact on all sports-related areas, helping to revitalize sports. Conclusion: Motion analysis technology using artificial intelligence, sports referee judgment system, coaching using artificial intelligence, and artificial intelligence are judged to have a positive effect on all sports-related areas and help revitalize sports.

This study was implemented a system for recognizing Taekwondo executed through the number of motion recognition device. Step Sensor also used to detect a user's location. This study evaluated the rate matching the standard gesture data and the motion data. Through multiple gesture recognition equipment was more accurate assessment of the Taekwondo action.

  • This research is to define the Aesthetics of Karatedo as Security Guard Martial Art by explore the aesthetics of Karatedo being invigorated as security guard martial art. The first one is beauty of space. The offense and defense of Karatedo as Security Guard Martial art are to fill in, to come out and to move from side to side. It help to have higher judgment. Secondly, it is beauty of time. It is subjective time felt by people training Karatedo. The third on is beauty of unity. We can see formal beauty of unity such as white dogi or black suit of security guard and dynamic beauty of unity such as quick and slow, strong and soft or movement of hand and foot. The forth one is beauty of symmetry. It can be shown strongly by triangle or moving of team kata and triangle between athletes and referee at Kumite competition. The fifth one is beauty of balance. It can by shown well by continual Karatedo kick motion, jumping kick motion at Kumite, jumping motion, quick turning, or moving such as standing on one foot at kata. The sixth one is beauty of harmony. The whith Dogi and blue or red guard at Kumite competition shows harmony of yin and yang and we can see also various harmony such as strong and soft, quick and slow, or high and low at Kata competition. The seventh one is beauty of curve. We can see beauty of straight line and curve by watching line of hand and foot from starting point to ending point. Specially, moving line of white dogi shows strongly beauty. The eighth one is beauty of rhythm. The rhythm is specified in Kumite kata competition rules. It is also shown by basic step, left and right step, various moving of foot, continual offense of hand or continual rhythm of offense and defense. The last one is bezuty of ethics. It is manner, duty as human, and moderation being important in Karatedo.
