Active Star를 이용한 FlexRay 네트워크 구현 (Implementation of FlexRay Network using Active Star)

  • FlexRay는 차량의 성능향상과 많은 전자제어 유닛으로 인해 발생하는 배선 및 성능저하를 개선하기 위한 고성능 통신 시스템 네트워크의 표준이다. 최대 10Mbps의 데이터 전송 속도를 가지며 2개의 채널을 통해 동시에 전송할 수 있다. FlexRay 시스템을 하드웨어로 구현하기 위해 SDL로 설계된 결과를 토대로 Verilog HDL을 이용하여 설계하였고, Magna/Hynix 0.18 um 공정을 이용해 Synopsys Design Compiler를 사용해 합성하였다. FlexRay 시스템에서 여러 노드 사이의 통신 제어를 위해 active star와 passive star가 사용되는데 active star는 최대 10Mbps의 빠른 데이터 전송에 주로 쓰인다. 본 논문에서는 active star를 이용한 FlexRay 네트워크를 구현하기 위해 설계한 FlexRay 시스템 외에 active star를 제어하기 위한 별도의 controller를 구현하였고 하나의 송신노드에 두 개의 수신노드를 연결하여 각각의 수신노드에 다른 프레임 메시지를 전송하는 실험을 통하여 올바른 동작이 이뤄짐을 확인하였다.

  • 본 논문은 유압 공급 면에서는 2중으로 전기제어 면에서는 3중으로 다중화된 DDV 구동장치에 대한 구동전류 고장 모니터 설계에 관한 논문이다. 다중화된 신호들 가운데 어느 한 채널에 고장이 발생한다면, 이 신호는 정확히 감지되어야 하고, 시기적절하게 제거되어야 하며, 남겨진 정상채널들은 그 기능이 재조정되어야 한다. 조종면 구동장치의 고장 모니터 설계는 비행체 역학, 비행제어법칙, 그리고 유압 구동장치 운동특성이 모두 고려된 통합적 관점에서 수행되어야 한다. MIL-F-8785C에서 규정하고 있는 고장에 따른 비행체 천이 응답 요구조건으로부터 조종면 구동장치의 고장이탈 한계를 결정하는 설계 방법이 제시되었다.

  • Since the release of safety standard IEC 61508 which defines functional safety of electronic safety-related systems, SIL(Safety Integrity Level) certification for railway systems has gained lots of attention lately. In this paper, we propose a new design technique of the computer board for train control systems with high reliability and safety. The board is designed with TMR(Triple Modular Redundancy) using a certified SIL3 Texas Instrument(TI)'s TMS570 MCU(Micro-Controller Unit) to guarantee safety and reliability. TMR for the control device is implemented on FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array) which integrates a comparator, a CAN(Controller Area Network) communication module, built-in self-error checking, error discriminant function to improve the reliability of the board. Even if a malfunction of a processing module occurs, the safety control function based on the proposed technique lets the system operate properly by detecting and masking the malfunction. An RTOS (Real Time Operation System) called FreeRTOS is ported on the board so that reliable and stable operation and convenient software development can be provided.

  • System on panel 프레임 버퍼를 위한 메모리 셀 어레이와 주변회로가 설계되었다. 또한, system on panel 공정의 낮은 yield를 극복하기 위해, 블럭 단위의 parallel test 방안이 제안되었다. 기존의 메모리 테스트 보다 빠르게 fault detection이 가능하며, 다양한 embedded memory나 일반 SRAM 테스트 분야에도 적용 가능하다. 또한 기존의 다양한 test vector pattern이 그대로 적용될 수 있어 fault coverage가 높고, 최근의 추세인 hierarchical bit line과 divided word line 구조에도 적용될 수 있다.

JXTA를 이용한 P2P 기반 자료공유시스템(JDSS)의 구현 (Implementation of a P2P-based Data Sharing System using JXTA)

  • P2P systems have been studied by many researchers in universities and commercial firms in recent years. In this study. we design and implement a system that makes UP for shortcomings of currently available P2P systems. Gnutella and Napster. The study also includes an efficiency analysis scheme conducted through a series of experimental data. The data sharing system of the study demonstrated duality of roles(client, service) of peers. But, their roles were separated from the existing client-server systems. Also, the study implements mechanism that shows the redundancy of data to communicate efficiently among peers for transferring data. The results of performance measure of the system shows that the amount of information shared by peers increases as the amount of peers increases but with no significant increase in response time. This constant response time is far more stable and faster than current file sharing systems. such as Gnutella and Napster. Business applications such as knowledge management, enterprise information portal management and transfer of data are done by use of supercomputers. They need to extend their systems to equip with more capacity and throughput as the number of clients increases. Moreover, they will face with more complicated problems if integration with new systems exists. If this JDSS is introduced to these business applications. it would easily augment scalability of the system with high performance at less expense.

제어 가능한 자체검사 특성 검사기 설계 (The design for controllabel self-checking checker)

  • 본 논문에서는 여분을 갖는 결함허용 시스템에 이용할 수 있는 자체검사 특성을 갖는 검사기를 제안한다. 특히 시스템이 출력의 정확성을 요하는 바이탈(Vital) 정보와 일반적인 정보를 동시에 취급할 때 정보의 중요성에 따라 선택적으로 검사할 수 있는 제어 가능한 자체검사 특성 검사기(Controllable Self-Checking Checker)를 설계하였다. On-Line 모드에서 결함을 검출할 수 있기 위해서 최소 입력 벡터로 시험할 수 있는 결정적 시험 방법을 이용하였다. 실험 결과 설계한 패리티 2-레일 검사기는 기존의 검사기 보다 더 간단한 구조로 동일한 자체검사 기능을 유지할 수 있었다. 또한 패리티 2-레일 검사기를 이용하여 설계한 제어 가능한 자체검사 특성 검사기 역시 정의된 결함에 대해서 높은 결함 커버리지를 나타냈다.

차량 내 네트워크 통신의 기능안전성을 위한 하드웨어 기본 설계 (Basic Design of ECU Hardware for the Functional Safety of In-Vehicle Network Communication)

  • This paper presents a basic ECU(Electronic Control Unit) hardware development procedure for the functional safety of in-vehicle network systems. We consider complete hardware redundancy as a safety mechanism for in-vehicle communication network under the assumption of the wired network failure such as disconnection of a CAN bus. An ESC (Electronic Stability Control) system is selected as an item and the required ASIL(Automotive Safety Integrity Level) for this item is assigned by performing the HARA(Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment). The basic hardware architecture of the ESC system is designed with a microcontroller, passive components, and communication transceivers. The required ASIL for ESC system is shown to be satisfied with the designed safety mechanism by calculation of hardware architecture metrics such as the SPFM(Single Point Fault Metric) and the LFM(Latent Fault Metric).

고장 허용 유도형 위치 센서 설계 (Design of Fault-Tolerant Inductive Position Sensor)

  • The position sensors used in a magnetic bearing system are desirable to provide some degree of fault-tolerance as the rotor position is necessary for the feedback control to overcome the open-loop instability. In this paper, we propose an inductive position sensor that can cope with a partial fault in the sensor. The sensor has multiple poles which can be combined to sense the in-plane motion of the rotor. When a high-frequency voltage signal drives each pole of the sensor, the resulting current in the sensor coil contains information regarding the rotor position. The signal processing circuit of the sensor extracts this position information. In this paper, we used the magnetic circuit model of the sensor that shows the analytical relationship between the sensor output and the rotor motion. The multi-polar structure of the sensor makes it possible to introduce redundancy which can be exploited for fault-tolerant operation. The proposed sensor is applied to a magnetically levitated turbo-molecular vacuum pump. Experimental results validate the fault-tolerance algorithm.

Decentralized Control Design for Welding Mobile Manipulator

  • This paper presents a decentralized motion control method of welding mobile manipulators which use for welding in many industrial fields. Major requirements of welding robots are accuracy, robust, and reliability so that they can substitute for the welders in hazardous and worse environment. To do this, the manipulator has to take the torch tracking along a welding trajectory with a constant velocity and a constant heading angle, and the mobile-platform has to move to avoid the singularities of the manipulator. In this paper, we develop a kinematic model of the mobile-platform and the manipulator as two separate subsystems. With the idea that the manipulator can avoid the singularities by keeping its initial configuration in the welding process, the redundancy problem of system is solved by introducing the platform mobility to realize this idea. Two controllers for the mobile-platform and the manipulator were designed, respectively, and the relationships between two controllers are the velocities of two subsystems. Control laws are obtained based on the Lyapunov function to ensure the asymptotical stability of the system. The simulation and experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed controllers.

Psychophysical cost function of joint movement for arm reach posture prediction

  • A man model can be used as an effective tool to design ergonomically sound products and workplaces, and subsequently evaluate them properly. For a man model to be truly useful, it must be integrated with a posture prediction model which should be capable of representing the human arm reach posture in the context of equipments and workspaces. Since the human movement possesses redundant degrees of freedom, accurate representation or prediction of human movement was known to be a difficult problem. To solve this redundancy problem, a psychophysical cost function was suggested in this study which defines a cost value for each joint movement angle. The psychophysical cost function developed integrates the psychophysical discomfort of joints and the joint range availability concept which has been used for redundant arm manipulation in robotics to predict the arm reach posture. To properly predict an arm reach posture, an arm reach posture prediction model was then developed in which a posture configuration that provides the minimum total cost is chosen. The predictivity of the psychophysical cost function was compared with that of the biomechanical cost function which is based on the minimization of joint torque. Here, the human body is regarded as a two-dimensional multi-link system which consists of four links ; trunk, upper arm, lower arm and hand. Real reach postures were photographed from the subjects and were compared to the postures predicted by the model. Results showed that the postures predicted by the psychophysical cost function closely simulated human reach postures and the predictivity was more accurate than that by the biomechanical cost function.
