The vibration induced by high speed train running on rail is dealt with as an environmental problem. The train induced vibration is characterized by moving loads at specific frequencies and soil conditions. In fact, it is predicted that the vibration sources are involved the wheel distance, number of cars, speed of operation, drift of rails, structural born vibration, etc. In this paper the characteristics of transferring vibration induced by the high-speed train in operation is discussed. Field measurements was conducted at region from Chungnam Yungj So-jung-myan to Chungbuk Chungwon hyun-do-myun. In the near future. these data will be used as the fundamental data for establishment of the countermeasure for vibrational reduction of high speed train using the results of the field measurements and quantitative prediction of the vibration level

In the previous study, a module-type vibration analysis system using modular approach is developed for the purpose of analyzing the torsional vibration of vehicle driveline. In the present paper, the system is utilized to investigate the torsional vibration of the driveline of a middle duty truck. The driveline with driving condition is modeled and the torsional vibration response is simulated. The resonance 45Hz is found at engine speed 900rpm and the resultant vibration is very high. It shows favorable agreements with reference data. The effects of parameter change on torsional vibration are also investigated, so it is clarified that clutch characteristics, axle shaft stiffness are very influential on reduction of vibratio. So the countermeasure is proposed for the clutch characteristics. The reduction of torsonal vibration by 8rad/sec is obtained.

In a high-speed and wide operating field optical disk drive, the vibration problem is one of the most important factors to be considered for reliable performance. And a disk misaligned with axis of rotation is a major source of vibration in optical disk drive. Furthermore, this vibration disturbance of the disk spindle system causes failure in the reading and writing process. So to solve this vibration problem, the vibration absorber using rubber mount has been introduced in recent years. In this paper, we have analyzed the simple optical disk drive model with dynamic vibration absorber through dynamic analysis of 12-dof by Recurdyn program and obtained optimal mass and frequency ratios of dynamic vibration absorber of dynamic vibration absorber and the optimal frequency ratio.

With the aid of advanced structural engineering, the construction of infrastructures has been recently accelerating to keep up with rapid economic growth. Construction activities and operation of transportation facilities cause civil petitions associated with vibration-induced damages or nuisances. As part of the decrease of vibration induced damage, the objective of this study is to develop vibration-controlled concrete with vibration-reduced materials, which can be recycled from obsolete materials, such as aged tires, plastics and etc. Appropriate mix proportion has been used for making 10 reinforced concrete panels with vibration-reduced materials, which have been tested to investigate on vibration reduction capability, based on the time and frequency domain analysis, and vibration velocity level analysis. Vibration-reduced mixtures are latex, styrofoam, rubber powder and plastic resin, which have been determined to by reduce vibration.
Aiming at widely used high-pier bridges in Sichuan-Tibet Railway, this paper presents an investigation to design and evaluate the seismic vibration reduction effects of several measures, including viscous damper (VD), friction pendulum bearing (FPB), and tuned mass damper (TMD). Primarily, according to the detailed introduction of the concerned bridge structure, dynamic models of high-pier bridges with different seismic vibration reduction (SVR) measures are established. Further, the designs for these SVR measures are performed, and the optimal parameters of these measures are investigated. On this basis, the vibration reduction effects of these measures are analyzed and assessed subject to actual earthquake excitations in Wenchuan Earthquake (M=8.0), and the most appropriate SVR measure for high-pier bridges in Sichuan-Tibet Railway is determined at the end of the work. Results show that the height of pier does not obviously affect the performances of the concerned SVR measures. Comprehensively considering the vibration absorption performance, installation and maintenance of all the employed measures in this paper, TMD is the best one to absorb vibrations induced by earthquakes.
The wafer positioning robot in the semiconductor industry is required to operate at high speed for the improvement of productivity. The residual vibration caused by the high speed of the wafer positioning robot, however, makes the life of the robot shorter and the cycle time longer. In this study, the input shaping and the path of the system are designed for the reduction of the residual vibration and the improvement of the cycle time. The followings are the process for the reduction and the improvement; 1) System modeling of the wafer positioning robot, 2) Verification of dynamic characteristics of the wafer positioning robot, 3) Input shaping plan using impulse response reiteration, 4) Simulation test using SIMULINK program, 5) Analysis of result.

In this paper, the Radial Magnetic Force(RMF) and cogging torque which cause vibration and noise in IPM type BLDC motor were analyzed. The cogging torque and RMF cause electromagnetic vibration. So, a notch was installed for the equilibrium of RMF and cogging torque reduction. The notch was analyzed by using a Fourier Series for the energy distribution of the air-gap. The equilibrium of RMF and the reduction of cogging torque were performed by a Design Of Experiment(DOE) with the notch. Also, operating characteristics and efficiency were analyzed and compared.

This paper presents a reduction method for a straight-line path error of a flexible beam deploying from a rotating rigid hub. Previous studies discussed about only vibration phenomena of flexible beams deploying from rotating hubs; however, this study investigates a vibration reduction of a rotating beam with variable length. The equation of motion and associated boundary conditions are derived for a flexible beam deploying from a rotating rigid hub, and then they are transformed to a variational equation. By applying the Galerkin method, the discretized equations are obtained from the variational equation. Based on the discretized equations, the dynamic responses of a rotating/deploying beam are analyzed when the beam end has a straight line motion. A reduction method for the trajectory error is proposed, using the average length of a rotating/deploying beam. It is shown that the proposed method is able to reduce the residual vibration of a rotating/deploying beam.

This paper considers vibration suppression of a mechanical transfer system, where the work is connected with the hand flexibly. We adopt the idea of jerk reduction of the hand. From the equation of motion, we first derive a state equation including the jerk and acceleration of the hand, but excluding the displacement and velocity of the work. Then, we design optimal state feedback for a suitable cost function, and show by simulation that jerk reduction of the hand is effective for vibration suppression of the work and improvement of the settling time. Since state feedback including the jerk and acceleration is not practical, we propose a computation method for optimal feedback using displacements and velocities in the state only.

The current vibration reduction methods for positioning systems lead to either complicated motion or the need for additional hardware when the positioning systems carry out frequent short-distance movements. This paper proposes a simple yet efficient vibration reduction method for positioning systems subjected to frequent short-distance movements. The essence of the proposed method is the trapezoidal or triangular velocity profiles, whose acceleration/deceleration rates are designed to be related to the natural frequency of concern. The combined use of the proposed method and the input shaping method is also proposed for the possible application to multi-mode systems. Experiments are performed to validate the proposed method. The simulation and experiments prove that the proposed method is of great use for residual vibration reduction in positioning systems subjected to frequent short-distance movement.
