LABOUR REDUCTION OF TEA PLUCKING OPERATION WITH PORTABLE TYPE MACHINE

  • With the purpose of labour reduction in tea plucking operation with portable type machine, the influence of frame angles and tea leaves weight on the grasping forces of each finger were investigated. At the measurement of the grasping force of each finger except for thumb, grip strength dynamometers were attached at the grasping position of the frame instead of handle grips. A series of measurement was carried out changing frame angles of the tea plucking machine and the weight of tea leaves. With the obtained results of the experiments , the influences of the frame angles and the weight of the tea leaves on the grasping forces of each finger were analyzed. Some reasonable suggestions for the labour reduction in the tea plucking operation with portable type machine were obtained in the aspect of normalizing the balance of the grasping force on each finger and these suggestions are expected to contribute the labour reduction of the tea plucking operation.

  • The simplest method for measuring output currents of the three phase inverters is to measure them with three current sensors such as hall sensors. This method requires at least two current sensors, and these types of sensors are somewhat expensive. More economical method is measuring DC link current with a simple shunt resistor, then, reconstructing output current using the DC link current value and the switching status. However, in low speed region, the measurement becomes difficult and even impossible due to the requirement of minimum switching duration for A/D conversion. These problems can be overcome by limitation of switching duration. Limitation of switching, however, causes voltage and current distortion. Owing to compensation, distortion can be effectively suppressed. However these increase acoustic noise due to increment of current ripple. In this paper, a current measurement method is proposed, which can reduce minimum switching duration resulting in reduction of acoustic noise. The validity of proposed method is confirmed through experiment.

육류 신선도 판별을 위한 휴대용 전자코 시스템 설계 및 성능 평가 (Design and performance evaluation of portable electronic nose systems for freshness evaluation of meats)

  • The aim of this study was to develop a portable electronic nose system for freshness measurement of meats, which could be an alterative of subjective measurements of human nose and time-consuming measurements of conventional gas chromatograph methods. The portable electronic system was o optimized by comparing the measurement sensitivity and hardware efficiency, such as power consumption and dimension reduction throughout two stages of the prototypes. The electronic nose systems were constructed using an array of four different metal oxide semiconductor sensors. Two different configurations of sensor array with dimension were designed and compared the performance respectively. The final prototype of the system showed much improved performance on saving power consumption and dimension reduction without decrease of measurement sensitivity of pork freshness. The results show the potential of constructing a portable electronic system for the measurement of meat quality with high sensitivity and energy efficiency.

  • The fist sounding rocket in Korea, KSR-420S has been under the development at Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI), and is expected to be launched in 1993 to measure the vertical ozone profile over the Korean Peninsula. The KSR-420S is expected to provide the fist in situ measurement of ozone concentrations over the Korean Peninsula. An optical ozone detector has been developed at Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS), and its calibration has been completed recently. In this paper, measurement principles of the ozone detector in KSR-420S, its calibration data, ozone measurement procedure and data reduction algorithm are presented with sample calculations.

가속도 센서에 기반한 동하중의 측정 및 잡음 감소 (Acceleration Sensor Based Measurement and Noise Reduction of Dynamic Weights)

  • Due to various types of errors added to dynamic weight measurement data, proper methods to reduce measurement errors are required to produce reliable weights. To cope with parasitic types of errors in real systems, information provided by the various sensors is utilized and combined in such a way to reduce the measurement errors of load cells. In addition to four channels of load cells from a trailer, an accelerometer is used to obtain the information to compensate the error induced from vertical movement of the vehicle due to the variation of ground level. A model trailer system is run to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method to reduce noise of dynamic weight measurements. Experiments show that the processed error magnitudes of less than 20 g can be obtained for 10 Kg experimental loads.

  • We developed a real-time three-polarizer spectroscopic ellipsometer based on a new data acquisition algorithm and a general data reduction (the process of extracting the ellipsometric sample parameters from the Fourier coefficients). The data acquisition algorithm measures Fourier coefficients of radiant flux waveform accurately and precisely. The general data reduction is introduced to represent the analytic functions of the standard uncertainties of the ellipsometric sample parameters, and the extracted theoretical values closely agree with the corresponding experimental data. Our approach can be used for optimization of measurement conditions, instrumentation, simulation, standardization, laboratory accreditation, and metrology.

SH-EMAT를 이용한 알루미늄 박판의 두께감육 평가 (Evaluation of Thickness Reduction in an Aluminum Sheet using SH-EMAT)

  • In this paper, a non-contact method of evaluating the thickness reduction in an aluminum sheet caused by corrosion and friction using SH-EMAT (shear horizontal, electromagnetic acoustic transducer) is described. Since this method is based on the measurement of the time-of-flight and amplitude change of guided waves caused from the thickness reduction, it provides information on the thinning defects. Information was obtained on the changes of the various wave features, such as their time-of-flight and amplitude, and their correlations with the thickness reduction were investigated. The interesting features in the dispersive behavior of selected guided modes were used for the detection of thinning defects. The measurements of these features using SH waves were performed on aluminum specimens with regions thinned by 7.2% to 29.5% of the total thickness. It is shown that the time-of-flight measurement provides an estimation of the thickness reduction and length of the thinning defects.

  • Background : The purpose of this study is to identify the level of positive influence on the pain and the gripping power in patients with tennis elbow by comparing the TENS treatment method and the kinesio taping therapy with good accessibility among the kinesio taping therapy and electrical therapy. Methods : Targeting the patients diagnosed with tennis elbow, the subjects were categorized in groups of four, each of electrical therapy group and kinesio tape therapy group where the degree of pain reduction through VAS before and after the treatment of each group and the measurement of the degree of gripping power increase using the gripping power measurement tool as well as the pain reduction changes and gripping power increase before and after the treatment between the two groups were compared. Result : As a result, the electrical therapy group and the kinesio tape group were able to obtain the results of pain reduction and gripping power increase through VAS before and after the treatment, but for all pain reduction and gripping power increase, it had no statistically significant changes(p>.05). In addition, in the changes of pain reduction and changes of gripping power increase before and after the treatment, there were no statistically significant differences between the electrical therapy group and the kinesio tape group(p>.05). Conclusion : Based on the results so far, it is thought that the kinesio taping therapy can positively influence the pain reduction of patients with tennis elbow and increase of gripping power.

수정된 화인 맵을 이용한 2-파장 홀로그래피와 잡음 제거 연구 (Study on Error Reduction in Dual Wavelength Digital Holography Using Modified Fine Map)

  • 2-파장 홀로그래피에서 수정된 화인 맵을 이용하여 2-파장 홀로그래피에서 발생하는 잡음 증폭현상을 줄이는 연구를 수행하였다. 일반 적인 화인 맵은 측정체의 단차가 2-파장 홀로그래피에 사용되는 광원의 파장보다 작은 경우에는 잡음을 잘 줄일 수 있으나, 단차가 파장 보다 큰 경우에는 측정 결과에 영향을 주어 잘못 된 측정 결과를 보인다. 이러한 오차를 줄이기 위하여 수정된 화인 맵을 이용하였으며, 그 결과 측정체의 단차가 파장 보다 큰 경우에도 측정에 영향을 주지 않고 잡음을 줄일 수 있음을 확인 하였다.
