We investigated the characteristics of electroless plated Cu films on screen printed Ag/Anodized Al substrate. Cu plating was attempted using neutral electroless plating processes to minimize damage of the anodized Al substrate; this method used sodium hypophosphite instead of formaldehyde as a reducing agent. The basic electroless solution consisted of $CuSO_4{\cdot}5H_2O$ as the main metal source, $NaH_2PO_2{\cdot}H_2O$ as the reducing agent, $C_6H_5Na_3O_7{\cdot}2H_2O$ and $NH_4Cl$ as the complex agents, and $NiSO_4{\cdot}6H_2O$ as the catalyser for the oxidation of the reducing agent, dissolved in deionized water. The pH of the Cu plating solutions was adjusted using $NH_4OH$. According to the variation of pH in the range of 6.5~8, the electroless plated Cu films were coated on screen printed Ag pattern/anodized Al/Al at $70^{\circ}C$. We investigated the surface morphology change of the Cu films using FE-SEM (Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy). The chemical composition of the Cu film was determined using XPS (X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy). The crystal structures of the Cu films were investigated using XRD (X-ray Diffraction). Using electroless plating at pH 7, the structures of the plated Cu-rich films were typical fcc-Cu; however, a slight Ni component was co-deposited. Finally, we found that the formation of Cu film plated selectively on PCB without any lithography is possible using a neutral electroless plating process.
Electrochemical carbon dioxide (CO2) reduction technology, one of the promising solutions for climate change, can convert CO2, a representative greenhouse gas (GHG), into valuable base chemicals using electric energy. In particular, carbon monoxide (CO), among various candidate products, is attracting much attention from both academia and industry because of its high Faraday efficiency, promising economic feasibility, and relatively large market size. Although numerous previous studies have recently analyzed the GHG reduction potential of this technology, the assumptions made and inventory data used are neither consistent nor transparent. In this study, a comparative life cycle assessment was carried out to analyze the potential for reducing GHG emissions in the electrochemical CO production process in a more transparent way. By defining three different system boundaries, the global warming impact was compared with that of a fossil fuel-based CO production process. The results confirmed that the emission factor of electric energy supplied to CO2-electrolyzers should be much lower than that of the current national power generation sector in order to mitigate GHG emissions by replacing conventional CO production with electrochemical CO production. Also, it is important to disclose transparently inventory data of the conventional CO production process for a more reliable analysis of GHG reduction potential.

The aim of this study was to determine the total phenol, total flavonoids, and proanthocyanidin contents of fermented black rice and its fractions, as well as to assess the antioxidant activities. Antioxidative activities were assessed in various in vitro models using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), 2,2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS), reducing power, ferric ion reducing antioxidant power (FRAP), and nitrite scavenging activity (Griess reagent assay). Our results show that the antioxidant activity was significantly higher in the low-molecular fraction of fermented black rice than in the other samples (p<0.05). Among the fermented black rice and its fractions, the low-molecular fraction had the highest total phenol ($109.2{\pm}2.9$ mg GAE, gallic acid equivalent/g), total flavonoids ($39.4{\pm}0.8$ mg RE, rutin equivalent/g), and proanthocyanidin ($32.9{\pm}1.4$ mg CE, catechin equivalent/g) contents, which correlated strongly with its antioxidative activity. Considering the high consumer demand due to the beneficial health effects, fermented black rice and its fractions can be utilized to develop functional food, as well as health-promoting and pharmaceutical agents.

In this study, greenhouse gas (GHG) reductions from bioenergy (biogas, biomass) have been estimated in Korea, 2015. This study for construction of reduction inventories as direct and indirect reduction sources was derived from IPCC 2006 guidelines for national greenhouse gas inventories, guidelines for local government greenhouse inventories published in 2016, also purchased electricity and steam indirect emission factors obtained from KPX, GIR respectively. As a result, the annual GHG reductions were estimated as $1,860,000tonCO_{2eq}$ accounting for 76.8% of direct reduction (scope 1) and 23.2% of indirect reduction (scope 2). Estimation of individual greenhouse gases (GHGs) from biogas appeared that $CO_2$, $CH_4$, $N_2O$ were $90,000tonCO_2$ (5.5%), $55,000tonCH_4$ (94.5%), $0.3tonN_2O$ (0.004%), respectively. In addition, biomass was $250,000tonCO_2$ (107%), $-300tonCH_4$ (-3.2%), $-33tonN_2O$ (-3.9%). For understanding the values of estimation method levels, field data (this study) appeared to be approximately 85.47% compared to installed capacity. In details, biogas and biomass resulting from field data showed to be 76%, 74% compared to installed capacity, respectively. In the comparison of this study and CDM project with GHG reduction unit per year installed capacity, this study showed as 42% level versus CDM project. Scenario analysis of GHG reductions potential from bioenergy was analyzed that generation efficiency, availability and cumulative distribution were significantly effective on reducing GHG.
The U.S. Space Shuttle represents the beginning of a new era in transportation and is the critical element in the industrialization of the near-Earth-space. Most of its flights are dedicated to reducing costs launching commercial satellites. However, it provides a microgravity environment for processing unique and improved materials which is generating great interest in both civilian and military sectors. The space shuttle is also the necessary step in establishing a permanent space station which could host materials analysis laboratories and commercial processing facilities. This paper reviews the different elements of the space shuttle transportation system, a typical mission scenario, and discusses current activities in materials processing in space.
Luminescence efficiency of phosphors, $SrTiO_3;Pr^{3+}$ and $SrIn_2O_4:Pr^{3+}$, is increased remarkably by III-group impurities. This effect is explained by a picture that carriers thermally released from impurity-induced traps supply energy to $Pr^{3+}$ ions. The impurities also improve carrier transport efficiency by reducing lattice defects. This picture indicates a possibility to develop new ternary oxide phosphors.
Among other critical conditions in rotor systems the large non-linear vibration excited by bearing non-linearity causes the rotor failure. For reducing this catastrophic failure and predictive detection of this phenomenon the analysis of orthotropic bearing non-linearity in rotor system using higher order frequency response functions (HFRFs) is conducted and is shown to be theoretically feasible as that of non-rotating structures. The complex HFRFs based on the Volterra series are newly developed for the process and investigated their features by using the simple forms of the FRFs associated with the forward and the backward modes.

In this paper, we report $Eu^{2+}$ activated green phosphor $Ba_2CaMgSi_2O_8:Eu^{2+}$. This phosphor absorbs ultroviolet radation and emits a green visible light. The phosphors were synthesized by conventional solid state reaction method. Reagent grade $BaCO_3$, $CaCO_3$, MgO, $SiO_2$, $Eu_2O_3$ were used as raw materials. The raw materials were mixed thoroughly with an appropriate amount of ethanol in an agate mortar and then dried at 90 $^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours. The mixture was sintered at 900 $^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours and reheated at the mild reducing atmosphere 5% $H_2$ gas mixed with 95% $N_2$ gas at about 900 $^{\circ}C$ to 1250 $^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours. The photoluminescence spectra of the phosphor powders were measured by a fluorescent spectrophotometer. The crystal structure of phosphor powders were investigated by X-ray diffractometer.

Li3V2(PO4)3 and Li3V2(PO4)3/C composite with single phase monoclinic structure for the cathode materials are successfully synthesized by direct co-precipitation method using N2H4·H2O as the reducing agent and alginic acid as the carbon source, and their electrochemical properties were compared. The particles with approximately 1~2 ㎛ size and the uniform spherical-like morphology of the narrow particle size distribution were obtained. In addition, the residual carbon can also improve the electrical conductivity. The Li3V2(PO4)3/C composite has improved initial specific discharge capacity and excellent cycle characteristics to maintain capacity stably than Li3V2(PO4)3. The results indicate that the reducing agent and carbon composite can affect the good crystallinity and electrochemical performance of the cathode materials.
