  • This paper presents the two-step strategy method of performing optimal scheduling of paper mill processes using MINLP (Mixed-Integer Non-Linear Programming) considering the trim loss problem in sheet cutting processes. The mathematical model for a sheet cutting process in the form of MINLP is developed in this study, and minimizing total cost is performed considering the cost of raw paper roll, :hanging cutting patterns, storage of over-product and recycling/burning trim. The paper has been used to deliver and conserve information for a long time, and it is needed to have various sizes and weights ...

  • This study was conducted for the purpose of examining stable disposal of foodwaste and possibility of multilateral use of its by-product by mixing earthworm powder and by-product generated from food waste disposal for making feed for sea fish. As a result of the study, content of crude protein (25.93%, 69.72%), crude lipid (16.91%,6.39%) crude ash (15.38%, 5.30%) in by-product of food waste and earthworm powder was higher than that in fish meals manufactured in the country, and it was judged that it is available to make good feed as a source of fatty acid as it contained C18:1n9c, 1n9t and c16:0. As for stability as a raw material for feed, it was shown that the stability was high when using the product as a raw material for feed not exceeding the standard of test items, and though change of content and ingredients to mixing ratio, it was shown that mixed specimen of fertilizer (S6) was higher, showing that it has great utilization in the future. Also, as it has more content of registered ingredients than any other raw materials for feed manufactured in the country, it is possible to be used as a substitute when manufacturing feed for sea fish. Therefore, it is judged that various studies such as economic analysis and technology of possible manufacturing will be needed in the future.

  • This study is to development of inorganic insulation material using by-product materials. The organic material is due to toxic gas emission, when a fire occurs. And it has lower water resistance. The inorganic material is heavy and worse thermal performance than organic materials. In this study, cullet and fly ash were used as basic materials in order to secure a recycling technology of by-products which was mostly discarded and reclimed, and measure of physical properties of Inorganic foam material.

  • Slag product has the possibility as alternative aggregate and sand under the circumstance of natural resource shortage. Copper slag is the by-product produced in process of copper industry. Recycling the slag in construction industry could give positive effects on the environmental preservation. This study presents that the fundamental properties of high strength concrete which used copper slag as alternative sand. Testing factors are concrete's slump, bleeding, air contents and compressive strength. The results of this study are as follows. (1) Mixing of W/C 30%, substitution rate 25% shows the best slump. As substitution rates are going up, concrete slump is uprising and air contents are downsizing. (2) The bleeding of concrete becomes more serious as substitution rates are going up. (3) The best compressive strength of copper slag concrete is achieved in mixing of W/C 30%, substitution rate 25%.

  • Recycling of coal combustion by-product(Ash) are becoming more improtant in the utilization business as a result of the increased use of NOx reduction technologies at coal-fired power plants. Current disposal methods of these by-products create not only a loss of profit for the power industry, but also environmental concerns that breed negative public opinion. This research made Precast block for environment-friendly secondary product and compare strength special quality of this block with existent common use brick and analyze application possibility in situ with a reserve experiment that measure strength property and manufacture method to handle coal ash produced in Bo-ryung thermoelectric power plant.

  • In modern times, the environment preservation is global tendency and self social awareness is arise. Measures to the environment preservation and pollution is going on study. One measure is recycling and reuse of by product and it is already developed in some advanced country. There is 7 hundred thousand tons of copper slag production from copper refining process in domestic. The purpose of this study is reusing copper slag -by product which produced L cooperation in domestic-as fine aggregate for producing high strength concrete and investigating the fundamental characteristics.

  • The objective of ECMS(Environmentally Conscious Manufacturing Systems) is to consider environmental effects through the entire product life cycle from product development stage to design, manufacturing, supplying, using and disposing stage. Recently, environment-oriented recycling, reusing and manufacturing technologies have been researched actively in every engineering fields. In the field of chemical engineering, HHS (Health Hazard Scores) which classifies and analyzes hazardous materials in production processes has been presented. Metal cutting processes also have a lot of harmful factors, and especially hazardous components in cutting fluids have been known to have a bad effect on workers and working area. However, research works such as HHS have been little accomplished in metal cutting processes. In this research, a environmentally conscious machining process is presented by classifying hazardous components in cutting fluids, by using LCA(Life Cycle Assessments) and HHS method, and by evaluating environmental effects from cutting fluids.

  • The compressed injection yellow ocher soil is the process-technology by drying the product through sunshine, not by firing like pottery and ceramic ware. It is the technology of development being able to achieve the far infrared ray and humidity adjustment by adding recycling paper, Korean paper and bamboo salt, and it corresponds with the construction enforcement ordinance 2007 as an interior-finishing product which is fire-resistant. In case that the yellow ocher soil would be used as lighting device and interior-finishing material and decoration, it could contribute to an improvement of National Health by avoiding the sick house syndrome and adding humidity adjustment, and it has more efficient economic effect due to using recycle-available additives. Through such developments of the yellow ocher soil products the domestic market of lighting device and construction material can be advanced and the replacement effect of imported goods & also export effect can be expected accordingly.
