5.8 GHz 마이크로파 무선전력전송 시스템 개발 및 전송효율측정 (5.8 GHz Microwave Wireless Power Transmission System Development and Transmission-Efficiency Measurement)

  • Previous studies have selected wireless power transmission system using 2.45 GHz of ISM band, but the researches for 5.8 GHz microwave wireless power transmission have been relatively rare. The 5.8 GHz has some advantages compared with 2.45 GHz. Those are smaller antenna and smaller integrated system for RFIC. In this paper, the 5.8 GHz wireless power transmission system was developed and transmission efficiency was measured according to the distance. A transmitter sent the amplified microwaves through an antenna amplified by a power amplifier of 1W for 5.8 GHz, and a receiver was converted to DC from RF through a RF-DC Converter. In the 1W 5.8GHz wireless power transmission system, the converted currents and voltages were measured to evaluate transmission efficiency at each distance where LED lights up to 1m. The RF-DC Converter is designed and fabricated by impedance matching using full-wave rectifier circuit. The transmission-efficiency of the system shows from 1.05% at 0cm to 0.095% at 100cm by distance.

  • An active clamp forward converter is proper for minimization and basically makes high efficiency of the system because of soft switching type. Especially, when applied to forward converter, it widens the control range of duty ratio and is suitable for high input voltage. In other hand, the current doubler has high utility efficiency of transformer and reduces output current ripple because it always transfers the power through the transformer and has two inductor with opposite slope. So, this paper explained the conduction mode of an active clamp forward converter with the current doubler rectifier.

  • In many multiple output SMPS, the cross regulation between the output voltage is so poor that the linear regulator is usually added to avoid this problem. Therefore, manufacturing cost is increased. In this paper, the TTFC(Two Transistor Forward Converter) using the magamp was presented to obtain better cross regulation between the multiple output SMPS. Also, as the synchronous rectifier was applied in the secondary section, whole efficiency can be improved. In this paper, the mode analyses in steady slate and experimental results of the prototype to verify the validity of the presented converter are presented and discussed.

  • A novel, two-inductor, interleaved power-factor-corrected (PFC) boost converter that exhibits voltage-doubler characteristic when it operates with a duty cycle greater than 0.5 is introduced. The voltage-doubler characteristic of the proposed converter makes it quite suitable for universal-line (90~265VRMS) PFC applications. Because the proposed PFC boost rectifier operates as a voltage doubler at low line, its low-line range efficiency is greatly improved compared to that of its conventional counterpart. The performance of the proposed PFC rectifier was evaluated on an experimental 300W PFC prototype.

  • This study proposes a parallel operation strategy for small wind turbine systems. A small wind turbine system consists of blade, permanent magnet synchronous generator, three-phase diode rectifier, DC/DC buck converter, and the battery load. This configuration has reliability, simple control algorithm, high efficiency, and low cost. In spite of these advantages, the system stops when unexpected failures occur. Possible failures can be divided into mechanical and electrical parts. The proposed strategy focuses on the failure of electrical parts, which is verified by numerical analysis through equivalent circuit and acquired general formula of small wind power generation systems. Simulation and experimental results prove its efficiency and usefulness.

Revised VX흡수식 냉동사이클의수치 해석 (A Numerical Analysis of a Revised VX Absorption Cooling Cycle)

  • A revised VX cycle using ammonia/water as the working fluid is a cycle which is suitable to produce cooling utilizing low temperature hat sources. The cycle was analyzed numerically to investigate the effects of the design and operating conditions on the performance. It was shown that both COP and cooling capacity were significantly influenced by the performance of he rectifier. Insufficient UA of the rectifier reduced both ammonia mass fraction and mass flow rate of the vapor entering the condenser, which produced cooling effect in the evaporator. As the temperature and the mass flow rate of the heat source increased, both COP and exergetic efficiency decreased due to the irreversibilities produced in heat exchangers, but cooling capacity did not vary much. Cooling capacity increased significantly as the coolant temperature decreased, although COP and exergetic efficiency remained nearly constant.

  • This paper presents a CMOS RF-to-DC converter for video surveillance disposable IoT applications. It widely harvests RF energy of 3G/4G cellular low-band frequency range by employing a tunable impedance matching network. The proposed converter consists of the differential-drive cross-coupled rectifier and the matching network with a 4-bit capacitor array. The proposed converter is designed using 130-nm standard CMOS process. The designed energy harvester can rectify the RF signals from 700 MHz to 900 MHz. It has a peak RF-to-DC conversion efficiency of 72.25%, 64.97%, and 66.28% at 700 MHz, 800 MHz, and 900 MHz with a load resistance of 10kΩ, respectively.

  • 최근 UPS의 효율을 높이기 위하여 무변압기형 UPS의 사용이 증가되고 있다. 하지만 무변압기형 UPS는 입 출력 구조상 문제로 인해 3상4선식의 IGBT PWM 정류기가 필요하며 이는 기존의 3상3선식 PWM 정류기의 PFC 제어기법으로는 중성선 전류 문제로 동작이 되지 않으므로 3상4선식 PWM 정류기의 특성에 맞는 적절한 PWM 제어기법이 요구되고 있다. 3상4선식 IGBT PWM 정류기의 제어를 위한 제어기법으로는 각상 개별제어 기법과 3D SVM 기법이 있지만 두 방식 모두 장단점이 존재한다. 각상 개별제어 기법은 제어가 불안정하고 3D SVM 기법은 입력 측 인덕터의 L값이 상당히 커져야하는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존의 각상 개별제어 방식과 d-q 제어 알고리즘을 접목시켜 동기좌표계상에서 직류로 제어하는 3상4선식 IGBT PWM 정류기 제어기법을 제안하였다. 또한 본 논문에서 제안한 3상4선식 IGBT의 PWM 정류기 제어 알고리즘을 바탕으로 시뮬레이션과 실험을 수행 하였다. 시뮬레이션을 수행한 결과, 3상4선식 IGBT PWM 정류기를 안정적으로 제어하고 중성선 전류를 줄일 수 있어, 본 논문에서 제안한 방식의 유효성을 확인하였다.

고효율 공진형 비대칭 하프브리지 플라이백컨버터 (High Efficiency Resonant Asymmetrical Half-Bridge Flyback Converter)

  • 본 논문에서는 고효율 공진형 비대칭 하프브리지 플라이백컨버터가 제안된다. 컨버터의 1차측 하프브리지 회로는 공진커패시턴스와 변압기 누설인덕턴스를 이용하여 비대칭 펄스폭변조(PWM; Pulse-Width Modulation) 방식에 의한 소프트스위칭 형태로 동작한다. 그리고 컨버터 2차측의 플라이백 회로는 간단한 구동회로에 의해 새로운 전압구동방식으로 동작하는 동기정류기를 이용한다. 제안된 컨버터는 이렇게 하여 컨버터의 전체효율을 향상시킨다. 또한 본 논문에서는 제안된 컨버터의 동작원리를 모드별로 설명하고 컨버터 설계 시의 고려사항과 프로토타입 컨버터의 설계 예를 각각 제시한다. 그리고 본 논문에서 제안하는 전압구동방식으로 동작하는 동기정류기의 간단한 구동기법에 관하여 간략하게 설명한다. 설계된 프로토타입 컨버터는 광범위 입력전압(교류 $V_{in,rms}$=75~265[V])이 가능하며 5[V]의 직류 출력전압과 100[W]의 출력전력을 가진다. 제안된 컨버터의 우수한 성능을 입증하기 위하여 설계된 파라미터로써 프로토타입 컨버터를 제작하여 실험하였으며, 이를 통하여 제안된 컨버터의 우수한 성능을 보인다.

Novel Active Voltage Quality Regulator with Adaptive DC-Link Voltage Control

  • In this paper, a novel Active Voltage Quality Regulator (AVQR) topology with a thyristor rectifier and an adaptive dclink voltage control strategy are proposed. The proposed AVQR can efficiently mitigate the long duration variations (e.g. undervoltages/overvoltages), voltage imbalances and voltage harmonics. Compared with conventional AVQRs, it can regulate the load voltage very well with a much lower dc-link voltage. This is accomplished by replacing the diode rectifier with a thyristor rectifier. Moreover, its dc-link voltage can vary with the deviations of the supply voltage through the proposed adaptive dc-link voltage control strategy. All of these contribute to its significantly higher efficiency for online operating, which is very important and attractive for many applications. The proposed topology and control strategy are theoretically analyzed in detail. Simulation results are also provided in the paper. Finally, the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method are verified by means of experimental results from a 2kVA prototype. Both of the simulation and experimental results show that the proposed AVQR can achieve a much higher efficiency and similar regulation performance when compared with the conventional ones.
