Secondary Science Teachers' Employment Systemin China Mainland

  • This article presents how in China mainland a school and a school district find their science teachers. Based on studying relevant materials and years of intensive involvement in teacher education and recruitment practices the authors draw three features of the current secondary science teachers' employment system in China mainland: certification control conducted very loosely selection criteria and process vary with schools and school districts due to the remarkable difference existed among them the normal universities/colleges established originally only for secondary science teacher education still play a vital role in shaping effecting quality of teacher candidates although no one of them for a long time have focused on only doing what they were supposed to do. For further development, changes and essential reform are expected duo to the increasing promotion toward the internal quality of education and therefore high quality of teachers and teacher candidates.

Motivation and Satisfaction of Volunteers at Local Festival : The Case of the 18th Gokseong Simcheong Festival

  • Volunteering has important insight for tourism, especially in the context of special events and festivals. In particular, local festival relies heavily upon volunteers because a large number of individuals are often necessary for creating and delivering various services. Therefore, understand the link between motivation and satisfaction will help festival managers to make appropriate decision in the selection and recruitment of volunteers. The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of motivations on individual's volunteer satisfaction. Data were gathered from 183 individuals that volunteered for the 2018 Gokseong Festival and finally 154 samples were used for the empirical analysis. According to the results, motivation factor analysis showed that intrinsic motivation is a main volunteer motivation to participate in the festival. This research concludes with the proposed conceptual framework that discusses the categories of motivational factors and also volunteers' satisfaction. The theoretical and practical implications of these findings are discussed in more detail.

Biological aspects and population dynamics of Indian mackerel (Rastrelliger kanagurta) in Barru, Makassar Strait, Indonesia

  • The present study aims to analyze the biological aspects and population dynamics of Indian mackerel in Barru waters. Data was collected in Barru for 11 months, from June 2022 to April 2023. The observed parameters of biological aspects included gonadal maturation stages (GMSs), size at first gonadal maturation, and length-weight relationship. Meanwhile, the aspects of population dynamics encompass age group, growth, mortality rate, and exploitation rate. Data analysis consisted of morphological selection of general maturation stages, Spearman-Kärber method in estimating gonadal first maturation size, Bhattacharya method in identifying age group, von Bertalanffy function through FISAT II to measure growth (L and K), Pauly Model to estimate mortality rate, Beverton & Holt Model to estimate Y/R, and virtual population analysis (VPA) analysis to estimate stock and fish yield. The results demonstrated that GMS I was observed to be dominant, followed by stages II and III. The initial gonadal maturation was estimated to be 17.98-19.28 cm (FL) for females and 17.98-19.27 cm (FL) for males. The length-weight relationship in male and female Indian mackerels indicated a positive allometric growth. The mode grouping analysis results from the fork length measurement revealed three age groups. It was also identified that the asymptotic length (L) = 29.5 cm (fork length), growth rate coefficient (K) = 0.46 per year, and theoretical age at zero length (t0) = -0.3576 per year. Total mortality (Z) = 2.67 per year, natural mortality (M) = 1.10 per year, fishing mortality (F) = 1.57 per year, and exploitation rate (E) = 0.59, the actual Y/R = 0.083 gram/recruitment, and optimal Y/R 0.03 gram/recruitment. Fishing mortality is higher than the natural mortality rate, and a high exploitation value (E > 0.5) also reflects over-exploitation. VPA analysis on fish yields and stock estimation reported a highly exploited rate between the 11.5 cm and 14.5 cm length classes and an exceeding current yield of 467.07 tons/year with a recommended yield of 233.53 tons/year to ensure population sustainability.

육군 3사관학교 생도선발에 관한 고찰 (A Study on the selection of cadets 3 Army Military Academies)

  • 육군 3사관학교는 국가가 인가한 편입학 사관학교이다. 장교양성교육기관으로 2년간의 교육을 마치면 대학졸업과 동시 육군소위로 임관하게 된다. 대한민국 장교가 되기 위해서는 다양한 교육기관을 통하여 양성되고 있는데 미래 육군의 중추가 될 육군 3사관학교 사관생도 모집에 관하여 고찰해보고자 한다.

인공지능 인사담당자와 인간 인사담당자에 대한 잠재적 입사지원자들의 인식 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study of Potential Job Candidates' Perceptions of an AI Recruiter and a Human Recruiter)

  • 최근 들어 인공지능이 인사선발 업무에서 활용되고 있으며, 인공지능이 인사선발 결정을 할 것으로 예측되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 인간이 채용하는 절차와 인공지능이 채용하는 절차를 비교하여 인공지능 인사담당자에 대한 잠재적 입사지원자들의 인식을 파악하였다. 대한민국의 대학생들을 대상으로 연구를 진행하였으며, 집단 간 설계(between-group design) 방식으로 2가지 시나리오(인간 인사담당자 vs 인공지능 인사담당자)를 제시하고 채용 절차에 대한 만족도, 절차공정성, 인사담당자에 대한 신뢰, 그리고 정당세상믿음을 측정하였다. 그 결과 잠재적 입사지원자들은 인공지능이 채용하는 절차를 인간이 채용하는 절차보다 더 만족했고, 더 공정하다고 인식하였으며, 인공지능 인사담당자를 인간 인사담당자보다 더 신뢰하였다. 또한 세상이 정당하다고 믿는 정도에 따라 인간과 인공지능에 대한 인식에 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 향후 연구 방향성을 제시하였다.

의복과 외모를 근거로 한 미국여대생 클럽회원 선택결정과 물질주의성향, 패션의복관여도, 의복의 자아근접성에 관한 연구 (Materialism, Fashion Clothing Involvement, Proximity of Clothing to Self, and US Sorority Member Selection Based On Clothing and Appearance)

  • 본 연구는 미국여대생 클럽의 신입회원 선택시 정규회원들의 개인특성이 어떻게 지원자들에 대한 첫인상형성과 선택결정에 관련되는지를 조사하는데 있다. 문헌조사를 통해서 여대생 클럽회원의 첫인상형성과 선택결정 에 관련될 것으로 기대되는 개인특성 변수로는 물질주의성향, 패션의복관여도와 의복의 자아 근접성이 선정되었다. 이외에 회원들의 클럽소속기간, 클럽활동 참여수준, 그리고 클럽만족도가 부가변수로 조사되었다. 연구대상은 미국여대생 클럽에 소속된 회원 140명이었고 설문지를 이용해 자료를 수집하였다. 자료는 요인분석, 상관관계, 부분상관관계와 ANOVA를 이용해 분석하였다. 의복의 자아근접성은 요인분석결과 의복의 개인성격 반영성향과 타인의식과 사회수용을 위한 의복사용성향의 두 요인으로 나눠졌다. 지원자의 의복과 외모를 근거로 선택평가를 하는 경향은 회원들의 클럽소속기간, 클럽활동 참여수준, 그리고 클럽만족도와는 유의한 상관이 나타나지 않았다. 그러나 지원자들의 의복과 외모를 근거로 한 선택경향은 참여자들의 개인특성과 유의한 상관관계를 보였다. 물질주의성향과 패션의복관여도가 높을수록 참여자들은 회원지원자들의 선택여부를 그들의 의복과 외모에 따라서 결정을 하는 경향이 있었다. 또한 회원지원자들의 의복과 외모를 기준으로 한 선택경향은 참여자들의 의복의 자아근접성이 높을수록 두드러지게 나타났다. 즉, 의복이 본인의 개인성격을 반영한다고 믿는 참여자들과 타인의식과 사회수용을 위해서 의복을 선택하는 경향이 있는 참여자들은 클럽회원 지원자들의 선택여부를 그들의 의복과 외모에 따라서 결정을 하는 경향이 높은 것으로 판정되었다. 일반적으로 타인의 의복과 외모를 근거로 첫인상을 형성하는 경향이 높은 참여자들은 클럽의 신입회원 선택시에도 지원자들의 의복과 외모를 중요시하는 것으로 나타났다. 부분상관관계를 통해 다른 변수의 역할도 조사하였다.

국내 한의학 관련 학술지에 게재된 전향적 임상연구의 윤리적 측면 분석 (Analysis on The Status of Prospective Clinical Researches Related to Korean Oriental Medicine and their Ethical Aspects)

  • In this research, the status of prospective clinical researches related to Korean Oriental Medicine was identified from the papers published in domestic Korean medicine journals for the past 10 years, and the ethical validity of them were evaluated. Selection of researches and assessment on the ethical validity were made from the evaluation of two independent persons and the adjustment of the third party, and the collected data was analyzed using SPSS 17.0 software. The yearly status of prospective clinical researches related to Korean oriental medicine showed that the average number of them, which was six before 2005, was decreased to only one in 2006, and it started to recover gradually after 2007. The result of ethical validity test of prospective clinical researches related to oriental medicine showed that 5 researches (12.2%) in "unbiased selection of subjects and recruitment", 15 researches (36.6%) in "informed consent", 10 researches (24.4%) in "ethical considerations for vulnerable subjects", and 8 researches (19.5%) in "pre-deliberation and ethical oversight of the IRB" were appropriate to the ethical standards. The interest for clinical researches has been increased, and the ethical aspect of the clinical researches has been emphasized in oriental medicine. The results reported here are expected to provide a help to perform an ethical oriental medicine related clinical researches.

Factors and Satisfaction in Selecting University and Departments of One University freshmen

  • 본 연구의 목적은 대학신입생의 학교 및 학과선택 요인과 만족도를 파악하기 위함이다. G시에 위치한 K대학의 2021년 신입생 499명을 대상으로 대학신입생의 학교 및 학과선택 요인과 만족도를 파악하고 SPSS WIN 18.0 Program으로 분석하였다. 연구결과 대학선택요인으로 대학정보매체는 인터넷/SNS, 대학정보제공자는 학교선생님, 대학등록에 영향요인은 취업률, 등록결정은 본인으로 나타났다. 대학만족도는 3.43점이고 성별(t=5.527, p=.019)과 입학전형(F=5.527, p<.001)에서 유의한 차이를 나타내었다. 학과만족도는 3.86점이고 입학전형(F=3.004, p=.018)에서 유의한 차이를 나타내었다. 학교만족도와 학과만족도는 유의한 양의 상관관계를 나타내었다(r=5.527, p<.001). 대학은 객관적이고 체계적인 대학 정보제공을 통해 학생들을 만족시키고 대학경쟁력을 향상시킬 수 있다.

A Conceptual Approach to Green Human Resource Management and Corporate Environmental Responsibility in the Hospitality Industry

  • Substantial growth in the economy and extensive use of natural resources has become a major issue in the modern world. Organizations have started to worry about the environment and are beginning to invest in and practice green strategies. Companies should be responsible for the environment and use sustainable methods to run their businesses. The main purpose of this study is to explore the conceptual approach to Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) practices and Corporate Environmental Responsibility (CER) in the hospitality industry. The theoretical framework of GHRM practices such as green recruitment, green selection, green training and development, green performance appraisal, green reward and compensation, and corporate environmental responsibility have been comprehensively studied for this purpose. Green Human Resource Management in the hospitality sector is a less studied and rarely implemented phenomenon. The integration of GHRM and CER along with green competitive advantage and green supply chain management in hospitality is new concept in hospitality industry. Study suggests that Corporate environmental responsibility (CER) and Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) have a significant role in the hospitality industry. However, for sustainable development of tourism and hospitality, this concept should be capitalized with necessary research and development.

The Competencies of Sellers in e-Commerce and Innovative Sales Activities for Sales Performance

  • Purpose: This study aims to identify the core competency of sellers on their sales performance in the context of e-commerce, and to verify the mediating effect of innovative sales activities. Research design, data, methodology: A questionnaire survey was carried out to 200 sellers in e-commerce. Exploratory factor analysis and reliability analysis for Cronbach's Alpha were performed to verify the validity and reliability of the and the regression analyses of 5,000 bootstrap samples were carried out to test hypotheses. Results: Based on the analysis, the elements of competencies of sellers in e-commerce such as self-control, trust-building, social interaction skills were positively related to the innovative sales activities and sales performances. Innovative sales activities also affected sales performances. Indirect effects of competencies of sellers on sales performance via innovative sales activities were partially effective depending on variables that brought practical implications. From a practical perspective, the valid competencies found in this study may be applied for the recruitment and selection of sellers. Conclusion: This study shed light on theories of e-commerce sales and sales practices by examining the competencies of sellers in e-commerce compared to those of traditional sellers and by revealing innovative sales activities as the effective mediator for sales performance.
