A multistage approach for service recovery enables restaurant managers to do the most effective recovery strategies to reduce customer dissatisfaction and lead to positive behavioral intentions. The purpose of this study was to identify the most effective service recovery strategies in terms of service stage and examine the relationship between service strategies and behavioral intentions. A total of 227 diners examined the customer perceptions to recovery strategies (tangible strategy and intangible strategy) following service failures in each of the four stages:1) reservation and parking, 2) seating and ordering, 3) meal consumption, and 4) payment and exit. The one-way ANOVA showed that intangible strategies were relatively more effective than tangible strategies regardless of service stages. Free meal or free dessert were most effective in service stage 1 and stage 2 whereas correct the failure and reperformance of service found to be the most effective service recovery strategy. Regarding the association between service recovery strategies and behavioral intentions, multiple regression analysis showed that intangible strategies influenced diners' likelihood of positive behavioral intentions whereas tangible strategies lead to diners' willingness to positive behavioral intentions only in service stage 1. The findings enable restaurant practitioners to improve service recovery activities from a service stage perspective.

The IT asset is a core part that supports the management objective of an organization, and the fast settlement of the IT asset fault is very important. In this study, a fault recovery prediction technique is proposed, which uses the existing fault data to address the IT asset fault. The proposed fault recovery prediction technique is as follows. First, the existing fault recovery data were pre-processed and classified by fault recovery type; second, a rule was established for the keyword mapping of the classified fault recovery types and reported data; and third, a machine learning process that allows the prediction of the fault recovery method based on the established rule was presented. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed machine learning process, company A's 33,000 computer fault data for the duration of six months were tested. The hit rate for fault recovery prediction was approximately 72%, and it increased to 81% via continuous machine learning.

Abstract Causal message logging has the advantages of optimistic message logging during failure-free execution and pessimistic message logging during recovery. In this paper, we present a new recovery algorithm based on causal message logging for improving asynchrony among recovering processes. Existing recovery algorithms based on causal message logging block the execution of live processes or require high synchronization among recovering processes. As each recovering process is responsible for only its recovery in our algorithm, the algorithm avoids blocking the execution of live processes during recovery even in concurrently multiple failures and overloading only one among recovering processes. Moreover, it allows the recovery of each recovering process not to be delayed by the continuous failures of other recovering processes. We prove the correctness of our recovery algorithm, and our simulation results show that our algorithm reduces the average recovery time of a failed process compared with the existing recovery algorithms.

The objective of this study is to optimize the four-bed six-step pressure swing adsorption(PSA) process for high purity $CH_4$ recovery from the biogas. The effects of P/F(purge to feed) ratio and cycle time on the process performance were evaluated. The cyclic steady-states of PSA process were reached after 12 cycles. The purity and recovery rate of product gas, pressure and temperature changes were constant as the cycle repeated. It was shown that the P/F ratio gave significant effect on the product recovery rate by increasing the amount of purge gas in purge and regeneration step. The optimal P/F ratio was found to be 0.08. As the cycle time increased, the product purity decreased by increasing the feed gas flow rate. It was found that the optimal operating conditions were P/F ratio of 0.08 and total cycle time of 1,440 seconds with the purity of 97%.
This study presents an effective method for additional recovery of residual actinides in liquid electrodes after the electrowinning process of pyroprocessing. The major distinctive feature of this method is a reactor with multiple reaction cells separated by partition walls in order to improve the recovery yield, thereby using the interelement difference in diffusion coefficients within the liquid electrode and controlling the selectivity and purity of element recovery. Through an example of numerical simulation of the diffusion scenarios of individual elements, we verified that the proposed method could effectively separate the actinides (U and Pu) and rare-earth elements contained in liquid cadmium. We performed a five-step consecutive recovery process using a simplified conceptual reaction cell and recovered 58% of the initial amount of actinides (U + Pu) in high purity (${\geq}99%$).
In the rice leaves treated with methyl viologen (MV), the photochemical efficiency of PSII (or $F_{v/}$F $m_{m}$) was significantly decreased, and significant portion of the photoinactivation process was reversible during the dark-recovery. The dark-reactivation process was relatively slow, reaching its plateau after 2-2.5 h of dark incubation. The damaged portion of functional PSII was 13%, based on the value of I/ $F_{o}$- I/ $F_{m}$ after this dark-recovery period. The reversible photoinactivation process of PSII function in the MV-treated leaves consisted of a xanthophyll cycle-dependent development of NPQ and a xanthophyll cycle-independent process. The latter process was reversible in the presence of nigericin. As well as the increase in the values of Chl fluorescence parameters, the epoxidation process during the dark-recovery after the MV-induced photooxidation was very slow. These results suggest that the photooxidative effect of MV is partly protected by the down-regulation of PSII before inducing physical damages in core proteins of PSII.I.I.I.I.
The performance of one-column isothermal PSA process is assessed by dynamic simulator, gPROMS. The four-step and five-step processes are compared. A five-step process is employed in order to show the effect of the addtional cocurrent depressurization step on the four-step PSA process. Two processes parameters, purity and recovery of SO$_{2}$ are used for the performance comparison. The results of dynamic simulation show that four-step process is superior to five-step process in recovery, but not in purity.
This study optimized the chemical cleaning process of discarded RO membranes for reuse in less demanding separation processes. The effect of physicochemical parameters, including the temperature, cleaning time, pH of the cleaning solution, and addition of additives, on the cleaning process was investigated. The membrane performance was evaluated by testing the flux recovery rate and salt rejection before and after the cleaning process. High temperatures (45-50 ℃) resulted in a better flux recovery rate of 71% with more than 80% salt rejection. Equal time for acid and base cleaning 3-3 h presented a 72.43% flux recovery rate with salt rejection above 85%. During acid and base cleaning, the best results were achieved at pH values of 3.0 and 12.0, respectively. Moreover, 0.05% concentration of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid presented 72.3% flux recovery, while 69.2% flux was achieved using sodium dodecyl sulfate with a concentration of 0.5%; both showed >80% salt rejection, indicating no damage to the active layer of the membrane. Conversely, 0.5% concentration of sodium percarbonate showed 83.1% flux recovery and 0.005% concentration of sodium hypochlorite presented 85.2% flux recovery, while a high concentration of these chemicals resulted in oxidation of the membrane that caused a reduction in salt rejection.
Purpose: The popularity of social media has altered how customers interact with businesses, and an increasing number of customers prefer to voice their complaints on social media. Bystanders can observe the customer complaint process on social media, but the impact of transparency on bystanders remains uncertain. Therefore, this study established and verified a model for defining the effect of transparency and service recovery types on bystanders. Research Design and Methodology: In this study, we used the internet survey platform "So Jump" to collect data. And we validated three studies with SPSS 26.0 and Smart PLS 4.0. Result: First, we showed that the transparency process (vs. result) is more likely to increase customer forgiveness and E-loyalty and reduce E-NWOM intention among bystanders. Second, customer forgiveness also plays a complementary mediating role between transparency and E-loyalty, as well as between transparency and E-NWOM intention. Finally, we found a modest interaction effect between transparency (process vs. result) and service recovery types (psychological vs. tangible vs. hybrid) on bystanders' customer forgiveness and E-loyalty. Conclusions: This study provides actionable recommendations for how service managers can effectively employ social media as a means for distributing feedback information to manage service recovery in the future.
Polyamide reverse osmosis (RO) membrane with thin film composite structure was commercialized for seawater desalination process. Recently, it has been reported that some RO processes for high pressure and recovery leads to reducing in energy cost and pretreatment scale compared with earlier process. The development of energy recovery, pumping device and RO elements with high pressure and rejection made high pressure and recovery process possible. In this study, permeation properties of commercialized seawater RO membrane were investigated under the condition of high pressure and recovery. In the RO sheet membrane test 3.5% NaCl of synthetic seawater was used. The synthetic seawater contained only sodium chloride. In the RO module test, natural seawater was used at Happo Bay, Masan city. As the results, RO membrane with high durability of pressure was better than that with high rejection of seawater for high pressure and recovery process. Seawater rejection of high concentrate tends to be improved by high pressure operation.
