This paper presents the system that decreases the Jitter value having an important effect for signal quality in optical disc memory. Level controller of input signal was made and applied to line between format generator and laser beam recorder of DVD. This try means to decrease jitter value without adjustment for many kinds of mastering process. Experimental results show that the jitter value is about 6.9%.

This paper proposes a semi-automatic image-based approach for 3-dimensional (3D) modeling of buildings along streets. Image-based urban 3D modeling techniques are typically based on the use of aerial and ground-level images. The aerial image of the relevant area is extracted from publically available sources in Google Maps by stitching together different patches of the map. Panoramic images are common for ground-level recording because they have advantages for 3D modeling. A panoramic video recorder is used in the proposed approach for recording sequences of ground-level spherical panoramic images. The proposed approach has two advantages. First, detected camera trajectories are more accurate and stable (compared to methods using multi-view planar images only) due to the use of spherical panoramic images. Second, we extract the texture of a facade of a building from a single panoramic image. Thus, there is no need to deal with color blending problems that typically occur when using overlapping textures.

This paper describes the design of portable arrhythmia monitor and associated algorithm for automated diagnosis based-on microcomputer in the ambulatory ECG recording, analysis, and transmitting to a hospital host computer immediately through the telephone system. The device differs from Molter recorder in that it does not store normal ECG signals but captures and alarms the ECG during suspected abnormal periods and selected temporal epochs to a central hospital site. This porta file arrhythmia monitor makes use of a general purpose computer and software will be changed to meet the custom requirements of individual physicians and patients. At present it is very obvious that each cardiologist has his own method of analyzing ECG recordings and utilizes past experience more than the firm quantitative analysis of data.

Whenever the large-capacitor and high-voltage pump motor is opened and closed, the power factor improvement condenser and the low-voltage equipment are often damaged by the sparking and the on-off power serge. In order to find the reason and resolve the problem, we have installed a transition wave recorder for obtaining the transient on-off power serge wave and a power disturbance analyzer for long-time monitoring. In this way we measured and analysed the condition of the high-voltage pump motor whenever it is opened and closed.

This paper presents a two-terminal approach for fault location estimation and for faults recognition. The proposed algorithm is also based on the synchronized phasors measured from the synchronized PMUs installed at two-terminals of the transmission lines. Also the arc voltage wave shape is modeled numerically on the basis of a great number of arc voltage records obtained by transient recorder. From the calculated arc voltage amplitude it can make a decision whether the permanent or transient fault. The results of the proposed algorithm testing through computer simulation are given.

In this paper, we first introduce a Koinonia technology. Then we present a wireless Digital Video Recorder (DVR) system based on the Koinonia technology. In addition we implement the wireless DVR system, which is composed of Wireless DVR-Slave (WDVR-S), Wireless DVR-Access Point (WDVR-AP), and Wireless DVR-Emergence Management System (WDVR-EMS). Also we present the acquired Korea Communication Commission (KCC) mark for the last products. The developed system will give a hint that the Koinonia technology can be adopted in wireless DVR systems to handle safety and security issues.

RHEED ppattern을 C.C.D Camera를 이용하여 관측한 후 C.C.D outpput signal을 Frame Garbber를 이용하여 Digitize하였다. Digitize된 RHEED ppattern의 정보로부터 원하는 Sppot의 intensity를 Image pprocessing Software를 개발하여 측정할 수 있다. [그림 1] 특히 thin film growth를 monitor하기 위하여 RHEED diffraction Sppot의 Intensity oscillation을 측정할 경우 실시간 측정이 필요하며 이를 위해 매우 빠른 속도의 data aquisition과 dispplay를 필요로 한다. 그림2는 이런 조건을 만족하는 software를 개발하여 실시간으로 측정한 AlGaAs/GaAs. multilayer RHEED Oscillation을 보여주고 있다. 이 실험은 매우 간단하고, 특별한 주의를 요하지 않으며, 측정되는 RHEED Sppot을 눈으로 동시에 관찰할 수 있어 실험 상황을 좀더 쉽게 monitor할 수 있게 해준다. 또한 data-aquitition. data-analysis, data-dispplay를 한 대의 compputer를 이용해 손쉽고 값싸게 할 수 있으므로, opptical fiber와 pphoto-diode, X-Y recorder등을 동원한 기존의 번잡한 실험을 대체할 수 있을 것이다.

Nowadays, VCR(Video Cassette Recorder) has various functions, but users use to fail operating these function because of the complexity of operation. The process of operating VCR contains user's cognitive characteristics. It is necessary for designing it that we must identify a user's mental process in the behind of operational behaviors. This effort, as well as considering physical dimensions and layout, can make VCR easy to use. In this research, VCR remote controller are analyzed by the cognitive method and experiments. Three types of VCR remote controllers, cognitive VCR models and two non-cognitive(typical) VCR models, are adopted as experimental objects to test the validation of the suggested user's cognitive mode of VCR. As results, when VCR was operated by the cognitive prototype of remote controller, task completion time was reduced to 80.5%, and the number of errors was reduced to 96.8%.

In one VTR(Video Tape Recorder), two or more heads are used to record or reproduce video signals. To obtain a uniform quality of a VTR, video heads should have similar charcteristics such as geometrical shapes and electro-magnetic performances. This research is aimed to develop a visual inspection system that can measure four geoemtrical parameters;HO, HI, Tw and Cw. To obtain a high realable results, DSP based image board and target based image processing algorithms were used. A series of experiments was performed for one thousands of video heads. From observation of the experimental results, the system is found to show good performance for inspection of video heads.

In this study of intentions and strategies of children's requests and teachers' responses, the subjects were 20 teachers and 610 4- and 5-year-old children in 10 kindergartens. Each teacher wore an audio-recorder and one-to-one interactions between teacher and child were audiotaped during a 40-minute free play session. Children made requests most frequently with the intention of getting attention; they also made requests for the purpose of seeking information. In making requests, children utilized various strategies including direct, indirect, and physical strategies. Furthermore, their strategies were dependent on intention. Teachers most frequently responded to children with the strategy of committed compliance. Results were discussed in terms of roles of active children and responsive teachers in forming and maintaining good teacher-child relationships.
