Modeling hand poses and tracking its movement are one of the challenging problems in computer vision. There are two typical approaches for the reconstruction of hand poses in 3D, depending on the number of cameras from which images are captured. One is to capture images from multiple cameras or a stereo camera. The other is to capture images from a single camera. The former approach is relatively limited, because of the environmental constraints for setting up multiple cameras. In this paper we propose a method of reconstructing 3D hand poses from a 2D input image sequence captured from a single camera by means of Belief Propagation in a graphical model and recognizing a finger clicking motion using a hidden Markov model. We define a graphical model with hidden nodes representing joints of a hand, and observable nodes with the features extracted from a 2D input image sequence. To track hand poses in 3D, we use a Belief Propagation algorithm, which provides a robust and unified framework for inference in a graphical model. From the estimated 3D hand pose we extract the information for each finger's motion, which is then fed into a hidden Markov model. To recognize natural finger actions, we consider the movements of all the fingers to recognize a single finger's action. We applied the proposed method to a virtual keypad system and the result showed a high recognition rate of 94.66% with 300 test data.

This paper presents the intelligent tracking algorithm for maneuvering target using the positional error compensation of the maneuvering target. The difference between measured point and predict point is separated into acceleration and noise. Fuzzy c-mean clustering and predicted impact point are used to get the optimal acceleration value. The membership function is determined for acceleration and noise which are divided by fuzzy c-means clustering and the characteristics of the maneuvering target is figured out. Divided acceleration and noise are used in the tracking algorithm to compensate computational error. The filtering process in a series of the algorithm which estimates the target value recognize the nonlinear maneuvering target as linear one because the filter recognize only remained noise by extracting acceleration from the positional error. After filtering process, we get the estimates target by compensating extracted acceleration. The proposed system improves the adaptiveness and the robustness by adjusting the parameters in the membership function of fuzzy system. To maximize the effectiveness of the proposed system, we construct the multiple model structure. Procedures of the proposed algorithm can be implemented as an on-line system. Finally, some examples are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
In Web registration pages and online polling applications, CAPTCHA(Completely Automated Public Turing Test To Tell Computers and Human Apart) is used for distinguishing human users from automated programs. Text-based CAPTCHAs have been widely used in many popular Web sites in which distorted text is used. However, because the advanced optical character recognition techniques can recognize the distorted texts, the reliability becomes low. Image-based CAPTCHAs have been proposed to improve the reliability of the text-based CAPTCHAs. However, these systems also are known as having some drawbacks. First, some image-based CAPTCHA systems with small number of image files in their image dictionary is not so reliable since attacker can recognize images by repeated executions of machine learning programs. Second, users may feel uncomfortable since they have to try CAPTCHA tests repeatedly when they fail to input a correct keyword. Third, some image-base CAPTCHAs require high communication cost since they should send several image files for one CAPTCHA. To solve these problems of image-based CAPTCHA, this paper proposes a new CAPTCHA based on both image and text. In this system, an image and keywords are integrated into one CAPTCHA image to give user a hint for the answer keyword. The proposed CAPTCHA can help users to input easily the answer keyword with the hint in the fused image. Also, the proposed system can reduce the communication costs since it uses only a fused image file for one CAPTCHA. To improve the reliability of the image-text fusion CAPTCHA, we also propose a dynamic building method of large image dictionary from gathering huge amount of images from theinternet with filtering phase for preserving the correctness of CAPTCHA images. In this paper, we proved that the proposed image-text fusion CAPTCHA provides users more convenience and high reliability than the image-based CAPTCHA through experiments.
This study were investigated in Korean and Chinese consumers' awareness about the controversial ads expressions. Any ethical evaluation and consumers about the issue of the type of ad that is examined, and also the difference between Korea and China, the consumer perception of advertising ethics evaluation is confirmed. Korean and Chinese consumers consumerism to promote awareness and relevance is analyzed. Firstly, the negative role of advertising in terms of positive perceptions of Chinese consumers significantly higher. The other hand, recognize the positive role in the Korean consumer awareness was high. Second, the Korean consumer advertising that targets children positive response compared to Chinese consumers higher. Third, Sexual Appeal for Chinese consumers think that is very generous compared to Korean consumers were Fourth, Korea and China consumers about tobacco advertising for all tobacco advertising was negative ethical perception. Fifth, obnoxious ad, ads, such as racial discrimination and acts for all bilateral consumers very negative comments were, for the spread of AIDS, bilateral consumers allow condom ads for all the positive responses demonstrated. The results of this study advance into China and the Korean company's executives and advertising agency advertising practitioners to formulate a strategy to accommodate an effective message.
This study used the third wave of individual data of KReIs(Korean Retirement and Income Study) because the third wave of data only had the necessary variables which fit into this study. The data was collected in 2010 using national random sampling. The target population was adults who are older than 65 and the sample size of this study was 4,080. The factors of successful aging were compared by the recognition of old age (group (1): people who recognize they are not older adults(n=620); group (2): people who recognize they are older adults(n=3,460)). For comparison of each variable by the recognition of old age, t-test, chi-square test and ANCOVA were used depending on the types of variables. To test the effect on the life satisfaction of the factors of successful aging, hierarchical regressions were used for each group. 1) Except for the number of leisure activities, older adults who recognized they were not old(group (1)) had a higher level of factors composing of successful aging than older adults who recognized they were old(group (2)). 2) For group (1), age did not affect their life satisfaction in a statistically significant level, but for group (2) age negatively affected their life satisfaction. 3) The results indicated that cognitive and physical functioning were more important than avoiding disease and disability. 4) For group (2), IADL affected life satisfaction positively in a statistically significant level, but for group (1), IADL did not affect life satisfaction. 5) For group(2), whether they had a job or not affected the life satisfaction differently.
Purpose - In recent years, management scholars have expressed growing interest in the concept of person-Job fit because of having many benefits for employees' attitudes and behaviors. The related research is needed to determine what specific types of fit are related to each other, and to get important individual outcomes. Person-job fit of employees in service organization plays an important role in company as well as person in service industry. Person-job fit, representing the consistency between person (service provider) and job (service provided to the customers), gives significant and positive effects on the attitude and behavior of service provider. On the basis of the study background, the purpose of this study is as follows. First, we would like to examine the effects of person-job fit of service provider on their emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is divided into four sub-factors such as self-understanding, understanding others, emotional utilization, and emotional regulation. Second, we would like to identify the relationships between job satisfaction and sub-factors such as self-understanding, understanding others, emotional utilization, and emotional regulation. Research design, data, and methodology - We performed structural equation model using Spss 18.0 and Amos 20.0 in order to verify the hypotheses. Subjects were golf service assistants who were high-touching service with high degree in interaction and long contact time with customers. 178 out of the total 200 surveys were used in evaluation from helpers of golf service working as full-time service provider after selecting two locations of golf course located near Busan. From the evaluation of reliability and validity with variables used in this research, they satisfied and confirmed certain standard. Results - The results are as follows. First, as the results of identifying the relationships between person-job fit and emotional intelligence of service provider, person-job fit did not have positive and significant effect on self-understanding. On the other hand, it affected positively and significantly other factors in emotional intelligence such as emotion to others, emotional utilization, and emotional regulation. Second, as the results of identifying the relationship between emotional intelligence and job satisfaction, sub-factors in emotional intelligence such as emotion to others, emotional utilization, and emotional regulation except self-emotion affected significantly and positively job satisfaction. However, self-emotion did not have significant and positive effects on job satisfaction. Conclusion - These results will be valuable and used for service providers. In addition, many service providers will recognize that person-job fit is very important to get a job. This research has a purpose on the assumption that appropriateness between individual and task in service industry shall act as major influence in emotional intelligence of service provider. Recognitive ability of service provider is also very important per characteristics of service, but emotional intelligence that interacts and connected directly with most customers can be a very meaningful factor as well. Emotional intelligence allows people to recognize, understand, and empathize the emotion of customers shall be a positive reinforcement for customers to evaluate the service ultimately.

The specifications of signboards are set for each type of signboards, but the shape and size of the signboard actually installed are not uniform. In addition, because the colors of the signboard are not defined, so various colors are applied to the signboard. Methods for recognizing signboards can be thought of as similar methods of recognizing road signs and license plates, but due to the nature of the signboards, there are limitations in that the signboards can not be recognized in a way similar to road signs and license plates. In this study, we proposed a methodology for recognizing plate-type signboards, which are the main targets of illegal and old signboards, and automatically extracting areas of signboards, using the deep learning-based Faster R-CNN algorithm. The process of recognizing flat type signboards through signboard images captured by using smartphone cameras is divided into two sequences. First, the type of signboard was recognized using deep learning to recognize flat type signboards in various types of signboard images, and the result showed an accuracy of about 71%. Next, when the boundary recognition algorithm for the signboards was applied to recognize the boundary area of the flat type signboard, the boundary of flat type signboard was recognized with an accuracy of 85%.
The optical character recognition (OCR) is a technique to extract and recognize texts from images. It is an important preprocessing step in data analysis since most actual text information is embedded in images. Many OCR engines have high recognition accuracy for images where texts are clearly separable from background, such as white background and black lettering. However, they have low recognition accuracy for images where texts are not easily separable from complex background. To improve this low accuracy problem with complex images, it is necessary to transform the input image to make texts more noticeable. In this paper, we propose a method to segment an input image into text lines to enable OCR engines to recognize each line more efficiently, and to determine the final output by comparing the recognition rates of CLAHE module and Two-step module which distinguish texts from background regions based on image processing techniques. Through thorough experiments comparing with well-known OCR engines, Tesseract and Abbyy, we show that our proposed method have the best recognition accuracy with complex background images.
Increase of immigrants in Korean society means that ethnic and cultural diversity witnessed in Western immigration countries is also appearing in overall Korean society. The purpose of this study is to suggest policy directions which fit multicultural society in the future by comparing and analyzing the difference in the recognition of multiculturalism between Koreans and immigrants. As the result of empirical analysis, it turned out that there is difference in recognition between Koreans and immigrants, for which different policy directions are required. First, it was contact experience that decided Koreans' multicultural attitudes. High level of influence of contact experience means that although Koreans take multicultural society as granted, they actually have low level of contact experience with immigrants, which requires policy tools to convert actual strengthened contact experience into positive directions. Second, in the case of immigrants, the less they recognize discrimination and the more bias is fortified, the more they accept multiculturalism as a threat. This exhibits their dual sense of identity in which they recognize themselves as foreigners toward Koreans but they distinguish themselves from other foreigners. Thus, assimilation to Korean society is not deemed to be the only alternative and Korean society needs to practice genuine multiculturalism to strengthen immigrants' ethnic identity. Study also conducted in-depth discussions on the implications of above results.

This study is an action research aimed at improving the instruction of a teacher educator who teaches science teaching methods to elementary preservice teachers. After identifying the cause of their low levels of curiosity and interest in physics, teaching plans addressing this problem were explored, applied to classes, and reflected upon. Through this process, ways to improve teaching practice in science classes for elementary preservice teachers and pique their scientific curiosity and interest were proposed. A spiral implementation structure that repeats implementation and reflection a total of three times was designed for the prospective preservice teachers who participated in elementary science textbook research physics classes. Self-reports, student participation data, and results from both peer and self-evaluations were collected and analyzed. The reasons for the preservice teachers' low levels of curiosity and interest in science were identified as their inability to recognize and express information gaps and their low levels of willingness to resolve this. Practice expressing information gaps, raising the level of knowledge to be able to recognize information gaps, and a strategy to have the will to resolve information gaps were introduced into the class. To the extent that changes can be made by improving unit classes, elementary preservice teachers can express their curiosity and interest in science through this process.
