Recognition of Health Care Workers for Dental Hygienists (치과위생사에 관한 일부 의료종사자의 인지도 조사)

  • This study involved an investigation of perception of dental hygienists based on a self-reported survey of a sample of 230health care personnel working at long-term care hospitals located in Gyeonggi Province, Korea. The primary objective was to provide basic data for establishing various policies related to building up a positive image of dental hygienists as a profession. The results were as follows. 79.1% of the respondents recognized dental hygienists as a profession. Among the titles for a dental hygienist, "teacher" was the most common with 47.4% of all. Female respondents and respondents who were able to discern between dental hygienists and nursing assistants were more likely to perceive dental hygienists positively than male respondents and ones who were not, respectively. Among social perceptions of dental hygienists was there a negative finding, that is, there was no appropriate title to address dental hygienists. This negative finding indicates that there is a vital need to enhance the perception of who are dental hygienists as a professionals level at the individual as well as institutional level.

  • This study analyzed the process of information service and its factors in the cognitive viewpoint. And developed a conceptual model to help in developing future information systems and services. The results of this study were summarized as follows : 1) The paradigm of information user study is changing from the system-centered to the user-centered one. 2) The researchers describe the user's internal cognitive process as the starting point of the information service. 3) The user's personal cognitive process influence the process of the information service over. And the focus is a microscopic one including the factors of the perception and recognition of the stimulus, remembering and searching information, reasoning the rules, recognition of the patterns, formalization of the concepts, etc. 4) The information librarian performs the role as a knowledge/ information system interface, and his knowledge structure reflects the organization of that knowledge/information system. 5) The information librarians can perform their role as information specialists actively and offensively. And the performance of the librarians can be measured on the scales of the su n.0, pplying capability of relevant information and the client satisfaction.

  • The growth in smartphone service has given rise to an increase in frequency and importance of authentication. Existing smartphone authentication mechanisms such as passwords, pattern lock and fingerprint recognition require a high level of awareness and authenticate users temporarily with a point-of-entry techniques. To overcome these disadvantages, there have been active researches in behavior-based authentication. However, previous studies focused on enhancing the accuracy of the authentication. Since authentication is directly used by people, it is necessary to reflect actual users' perception. This paper proposes user perception on behavior-based authentication with feature analysis. We conduct user survey to empirically understand user perception regarding behavioral authentication with selected authentication features. Then, we analyze acceptance of the behavioral authentication to provide continuous authentication with minimal awareness while using the device.

Structural Relationship for Recognition of Radiation Risks on Management and Benefits of the University Students (대학생들의 방사선 위험 인식이 관리와 편익에 미치는 구조적 관계)

  • The purpose of this study was to perform an actual proof analysis on the structural effects of recognition of radiation risks on management and benefits. Data was collected using self-administered questionnaires targeting students having majors related to radiation from 1 April to 31 May in 2013 of one four-year-course university located in Chungbuk, Korea. As a result of the analysis, it turned out that as recognition of radiation risks is higher, recognition of radiation management is higher, which has a significant effect on benefits. It was indicated that although recognition of radiation risks does not directly influence radiation benefits, positive recognition on radiation benefits could increase through the parameter, radiation management. In order to improve smooth use of radiation and increase benefits, education that emphasizes the need of proper radiation management should be performed.

  • This study explored which the component factors on innovation brand to building an organizational culture of government. The innovation brand perception of organizational officers are in order brand awareness(recognition, discrimination) and brand loyalty(identification, ease of memory, meaning diffusion, the reaction of customer needs), brand salience, brand knowledge and brand innovation. The result of Importance-Performance analysis are as follows. We can see that Brand loyalty have Quadrant I meaning good management implementation. Brand Knowledge have Quadrant II meaning concentrate improving. Brand Uniqueness have Quadrant III meaning improving. And Recognition, familiarity and salience have Quadrant IV meaning low relative importance and high performance. The Quadrant IV consider the cost and benefit of brand management.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in recognition of brand and advertisement image according to the advertisement expression forms of domestic make-up cosmetics. This study was conducted by means of a questionnaire survey of female which age from twenties to the thirties. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency distribution, Percentage, mean, factor analysis, and paired t-test by the SPSS program. The results of this study were as follows. The brand and advertisement image of domestic Make-up cosmetics were classified into seven factors. : Of good quality, high-toned, modern, chic, unique, familiar, stimulative brand and advertisement image. The brand image and advertisement image recognition didn't correspond in general except HERCYNA and ETUDE.

  • This study conducted both a content analysis and Q-methods analysis in order to find media coverage and recognition type of users about ubiquitous environment in digital online age. The perception type of this study were divided into four types in all through Q-methodology. Above all, this study investigated three research problems. First, how is the type of the perception divided into the subjectivity by recognition-characteristic on ubiquitous environment in Korea? Second, what is a trait of character in these same or different types? Third, how did news media cover ubiquitous phenomena overall? Fourth, is there any difference between media coverage and audiences' perception about ubiquitous phenomena? The results show that audiences seem to generally follow the frames that mass media provide. In addition, however, the audiences tend to recognize ubiquitous environment based upon their own schema as following four types: 1. Positive Universality Leading Type, 2. Uncertain Prudence Preference Type, 3. Future Cultural Enjoyment Type, 4. Negative Effect View Type. This study suggests that every efforts such as technology and policies that can improve the quality of ubiquitous environment in Korea should be accompanied.

Effects of a Well-dying Program on Nursing Students (간호대학생에 대한 웰다잉 교육프로그램의 효과)

  • Purpose: We examined the effects of a well-dying program on nursing students in terms of death preparation, death recognition and perception of well-dying perception. Methods: The design of this study was quasi-experimental and non-synchronized with a non-equivalent control group. The study was conducted with nursing students: 32 in the experimental group and 36 in the control group. The well-dying program was consisted of five sessions: introduction, thinking about meaning of death, organizing things to do before dying, looking back on my life, and leaving a trail of my life. Descriptive analysis, t-test, ${\chi}^2$ test and ANCOVA were used with SPSS 18.0 program to analyze the data. Results: After attending the program, a difference was observed in death preparation of the experimental group (t=2.61, P=0.014). The death recognition (F=154.15, P<0.001) score of the experimental group was significantly higher than the control group. There was no significant difference between the groups in perception of well-dying (F=0.11, P=0.747). Conclusions: The well-dying program helped nursing students build positive death recognition. Therefore, this study is expected to contribute to development of a death education program for nursing students.

  • When plants are infected by plant pathogens, rapid cell responses are initiated for further inhibition from fast invasion of pathogens. Hypersensitive response (HR) of plant is well known defense response stopping pathogenesis process through rapid cell death. However, informations on the signaling pathway from reception of pathogen by host plants to appropriate resistant responses are very limited to date. Efficient perception of infection by pathogens and well-programmed signalling mechanism for appropriate responses are important for survival of plants. Plant have developed a sophisticated network(s) of defense/stress responses, among which one of the earliest signalling pathways after perception (of stimuli) is the evolutionary conserved Rop GTPase and mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) cascade.(중략)

Research Trends for Deep Learning-Based High-Performance Face Recognition Technology (딥러닝 기반 고성능 얼굴인식 기술 동향)

  • As face recognition (FR) has been well studied over the past decades, FR technology has been applied to many real-world applications such as surveillance and biometric systems. However, in the real-world scenarios, FR performances have been known to be significantly degraded owing to variations in face images, such as the pose, illumination, and low-resolution. Recently, visual intelligence technology has been rapidly growing owing to advances in deep learning, which has also improved the FR performance. Furthermore, the FR performance based on deep learning has been reported to surpass the performance level of human perception. In this article, we discuss deep-learning based high-performance FR technologies in terms of representative deep-learning based FR architectures and recent FR algorithms robust to face image variations (i.e., pose-robust FR, illumination-robust FR, and video FR). In addition, we investigate big face image datasets widely adopted for performance evaluations of the most recent deep-learning based FR algorithms.
