In this paper, we set 6 interesting points around lips. Analyzed and characterized is the distance change of these 6 interesting points when people pronounces 5 vowels of Korean language. 450 data are gathered and analyzed. Based on this analysis, the system is constructed and the recognition experiments are performed. In this system, we used the camera connected to computer to measure the distance vector between 6 interesting points. In the experiment, 80 normal persons were sampled. The observational error between samples was corrected using normalization method. We analyzed with 30 persons and experimented with 50 persons. We constructed three recognition systems and of those the neural net system gave the best recognition result of 87.44 %.
In this paper, we suggests a algorithms of recognizing the disease region by extracting particular organ from medical image. This method can extract liver region in spite of input image including many organs and charged format by using multi-threshold of feed-back-structure for segmentation liver region, and suggest the recognition of disease region in extracted liver, using multi-neural network structured by RBF and BP, overcoming the defect of single-neural network. The algorithm in this paper is proficient in adaptation for a multi form change of input medical image. This algorithm can be used at tole-medicine through automatic recognition after recognizing of the disease region by real-tire medical Image.

In this paper, we propose the method to improving touch recognition using edge mask on a touched object at vision-based touchscreen. Because vision-based touchscreen recognizes touch using threshold simply, noise occur in fist or wrist in case of touch directly with hand, correct touch recognition was difficult. However, in this paper, we execute morphology and extract surrounding mask in object that approximate to touchscreen, use change of contrast for the mask. When we touch screen to use these dynamic information, prevent noise. The goal of this paper is when hand was touched on screen it can recognize to touch.

In this paper, we presents automatic Korean continuous speech recognizer which is improved by the speech rate estimation and the compensation methods. Automatic continuous speech recognition is significantly more difficult than isolated word recognition because of coarticulatory effects and variations in speech rate. In order to recognize continuous speech, modeling methods of coarticulatory effects and variations in speech rate are needed. In this paper, the speech rate is measured by change of format, and the compensation is peformed by extracting relatively many feature vectors in fast speech. Coarticulatory effects are modeled by defining 514 Korean diphone set, and ETRI's 445 word DB is used for training speech material. With combining above methods, we implement automatic Korean continuous speech recognizer, which shows improved recognition rate, based on DHMM(Discrete Hidden Markov Model).
In this paper, we propose a method to recognize the facial expressions by selecting face elements and finding its status. The face elements are selected by using image area segmentation method and the facial expression is decided by using the normal distribution of the change rate of the face elements. In order to recognize the proper facial expression, we have built database of facial expressions of 90 people and propose a method to decide one of the four expressions (happy, anger, stress, and sad). The proposed method has been simulated and verified by face element detection rate and facial expressions recognition rate.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of preceptor preparation education on the preceptor's role recognition, role conflict and professional self-concept. Method: A Quasi-experimental design with non-equivalant control group was used. The subjects included 39 nurses, 19 in experimental group, and 20 in the control group. The program consisted of introduction of preceptor education program & curriculum, change of hospital management environment, the newest trend of nursing course, concept of preceptorship, steps of preceptorship, role of preceptor, attitude of preceptor, role of education, etiquette in nursing situation, policy of clinical education ability improvement, communication, conflict management, nursing ethics, contents concerned nursing professionalist, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and medication. The data was collected from September 29 to November 17, 2007 using a structured questionnaire. Result: Preceptor's role recognition was increased significantly in the experimental group. However, role conflict and professional self-concept weren't significantly changed in the experimental group, compared to the control group. Conclusion: This study provides evidence for potential and beneficial effect of preceptor preparation education program on nurses.
The characteristics of health behavior related pregnancy and childbirth have reflected on the cultural belief and value in the society. The efforts for women's health promotion through the current illumination of the traditional health care are the prompting assignment to be in nursing. The process of motherhood already progress before the motherhood actually. The functional state as the expectant mother can be the important predicting factor of the postpartum state, the quality of a married life. Motherhood was analyzed by Walker and Avant's method to clarify the concept 'to be a mother' using the various concepts like Koreans' Taekyo, transition to motherhood, maternal identity, maternal role attainment, maternal fetal attachment, and maternal fetal interaction. Upon the concept analysis, naturalness, responsibility, attachment, readiness, controllability were identified as the defining characteristics of motherhood. The antecedents of motherhood were consist of maternal affection, positive self esteem, pregnancy acceptance, fetus recognition and the consequences of motherhood were consist of positive maternal identity, maternal fetal attachment, confidence about the maternal role, the healthy mother and the healthy baby. The empirical referents of motherhood were consists of recognition of motherhood, expectation about motherhood, fetal recognition with ultrasonography and fetal movement, experience of unification between mother and fetus, expression of affection to the fetus, concern about fetal health, concern and practice about Taekyo, adaptation behavior about physical change and discomfort due to pregnancy. Therefore it is necessary to develop the instruction program of motherhood including the defining attributes identified in this study.

In a real-time indoor place recognition system using image features detection, specific markers included in input image should be detected exactly and quickly. However because the same markers in image are shown up differently depending to movement, direction and angle of camera, it is required a method to solve such problems. This paper proposes a technique to extract the features of object without regard to change of the object scale. To support real-time operation, it adopts SURF(Speeded up Robust Features) which enables fast feature detection. Another feature of this system is the user mark designation which makes possible for user to designate marks from input image for location detection in advance. Unlike to use hardware marks, the feature above has an advantage that the designated marks can be used without any manipulation to recognize location in input image.
Recognition thresholds for NaCl, sucrose, citric acid, and caffeine, as well as the pleasant concentration of NaCl were assessed in 176 males and 312 females aged 50-88 years. Furthermore, relationships among taste sensitivities, taste preferences, and lifestyles were examined. The taste solutions were presented one after the other in ascending order using the sip-and-spit method. For the recognition thresholds of the 4 basic tastes, women perceived significantly lower concentrations than the men. However, the pleasant concentration of NaCl did not show a gender difference. Sensitivities for the 4 basic tastes did not decrease with age in the men, but they did significantly decrease with age for the women, especially for those above 70 years. For men, regular exercise was positively correlated with sensitivities for sour taste and bitter taste, and physical activity was negatively correlated with the pleasant concentrations of NaCl. For women, who had more physical activity, sensitivities for sweet taste and sour taste were lower compared to the others. This study indicates that the sensitivities for 4 basic tastes in water diminished with age, but pleasant salt concentration did not change with age. Further research on pleasant NaCl concentration is required to determine factors affecting salt preference, in order to decrease salt intake in the elderly.

This study attempted to anyone so that you can experience the dance, the dance activities were considering the personal characteristics of the elementary school program that combines dance movements and theatrical representation by presenting a model of the program. May appear in physical activity and changes in emotion recognition focused on elementary school students by applying to the program, the result of applying the participants through a program of dance activities, according to the mutual recognition of body motion expressed through the body, and how to communicate the meaning of the expressions in various ways positive thinking, voluntary participation, and interpersonal relationships and was able to deliver, and have self-confidence and self-esteem for physical activity and altered consciousness.
