  • The recent development of InGaN-based white light emitting diodes (LEDs) has expanded their potential applications in areas such as white electric home appliances, backlight for mobile phone or notebook PC, and indoor lightings. In this lecture, recent researches related to the phosphors for LEDs applications and their luminescent properties were reviewed. PDPs are considered as the most potential flat panel displays with a large-screen size. Phosphors in PDPs directly affect the brightness and lifetime. So, many researchers have tried to improve the luminescence characteristics of the phosphors especially under vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) excitation. We overviewed recent research trends and conclusive achievements for the PDP phosphors.

  • Recent advances in perinatal care have resulted in improved survival of extremely low birth weight infants (ELBWI). However, bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) remains one of the major complications in ELBWI. BPD was originally described over 40 years ago; the clinical characteristics, epidemiology, and pathogenesis of BPD have changed markedly through this period. In this article, I have reviewed recent progress in research concerning the clinical presentation and characteristics, epidemiology, and pathogenesis of BPD.

  • The systematic study of recent freshwater ostracods was conducted on the materials collected from 44 localities in South Korea. Four species of ostracods were identified, all of which were new to South Korea: Stenocypri'shislopi Ferguson,1969, Cypretta seuroti 6autier,1929, Potomocypris producta (Sars, 1924), and llyocvpris dentifero Sars. 1903.

  • With the recent emergence of foldable electronic devices, interest in flexible organic memory is significantly growing. There are three types of flexible organic memory that have been researched so far: floating-gate (FG) memory, ferroelectric field-effect-transistor (FeFET) memory, and resistive memory. Herein, performance parameters and operation mechanisms of each type of memory device are introduced, along with a brief summarization of recent research progress in flexible organic memory.

  • Recent issues in the automotive industries are, improvement of fuel efficiency according to the worldwide $CO_2$ regulation, passenger safety through enhanced crashworthiness, superior design and cost reduction due to price fluctuation of raw material. To meet these demands, steelmaking companies are developing advanced high strength steel and new process technologies such as hydroforming, TWB(Tailor Welded Blank), hot stamping and so on. In addition, eco-friendly and high corrosion resistant coating technologies are getting more attention to comply with the environmental regulations. In this paper, reviews and prospects of recent coating technologies for automotive use are presented.

  • Under background of global change, regional and local environmental changes in short-term are significantly influenced by human activities in recent time. This paper deals with serious environmental problems which has become a barrier of sustainable development in the lower reach of Yellow River due to over use of diverted water from Yellow River and underground water from coastal plain. Some countermeasures for improving local environment and economic development are introduced in the paper.

  • Secondary mineral deposits of gypsum, mirabilite, thenardite, crisobolite have long been known and, in fact, are quite common in lava tubes of southwest Idaho. Until recently, calcium carbonate were found in a few tubes in very small amounts and were thought to be qu are. The recent ‘rediscovery’ of Helen's Hidden Hide - Away lava tube h significantly changed this thinking. The deposits in this lava tube are only quite extensive but extremely varied in structure. As this is a v recent discovery, only basic preliminary work will be presented in t paper. It is hoped this will stimulate intrest for further and more inte study of the lava tubes of southwestern Idaho.
