A Study on the Performance Evaluation of Semantic Retrieval Engines (시맨틱검색엔진의 성능평가에 관한 연구)

  • This study suggested knowledge base and search engine for the libraries that have the largescaled data. For this purpose, 3 components of knowledge bases(triple ontology, concept-based knowledge base, inverted file) were constructed and 3 search engines(search engine JENA for rule-based reasoning, Concept-based search engine, keyword-based Lucene retrieval engine) were implemented to measure their performance. As a result, concept-based retrieval engine showed the best performance, followed by ontology-based Jena retrieval engine, and then by a normal keyword search engine.

  • In this paper, an environmental monitoring and diagnosis system based on ubiquitous computing technology, shortly u-Eco Monitoring System, is proposed. u-Eco Monitoring System is designed to: 1) Collect information from the manufacturing processes via ubiquitous computing technology, 2) Analyze the current status, 3) Identify the cause of problem if detected by rule-based and case-based reasoning, and 4) Provide the results to the operator for proper decision making. Based on functional modeling, a generic architecture is derived, followed by application to a manufacturing system in iron and steel making industry. Finally, to show the validity of the proposed method, a prototype is developed and tested. The developed methods can be used as a conceptual framework for designing environmental monitoring and diagnosis system for industrial practices by which monitoring accuracy and response time for abnormal status can be significantly enhanced, and relieving operator pressure from manual monitoring and error-prone decision making.

  • Expert system is a practical application part of the artificial intelligence and can be generally described as a computer-based system designed to simulate the knowledge and reasoning of a human expert, and to make that knowledge conveniently available to other people in a useful way. Expert systems consist of three major components, knowledge base, inference engine and user interface. In this paper, it is aimed to construct a prototype system to design the horizontal-typed pressure vessel. To do this, a representative artificial programming language, Turbo Prolog, was employed, and the knowledge representation was mainly done by the production rule such as "If(condition), than (action)" style and by the predicate logic. In the developed system, it was quite easy to represent the knowledge of "If(condition), then (action)"style and by the predicate logic.   • In this paper, we proposed a fuzzy controller and algorithm for efficiently obstacle avoidance in unknown space. The ultrasonic sensor is used for position and distance recognition of obstacle, and fuzzy controller is used for left and right wheels angular velocity control. The fuzzification is used singleton method and the control rule is each wheel forty-nine. The fuzzy inference is used simplified Mamdani's reasoning and defuzzification is used SCOG(Simplified Center Of Gravity). The computer simulation based on mobile robot modelling was performed for the capacity of fuzzy controller and the really applicable possibility revaluation of the proposed avoidance algorithm and fuzzy controller. As a result, mobile robot was exactly reached in target and it avoided obstacle efficiently.

  • A major limitation of available component-based platforms Is that they do not provide suitable means for describing and reasoning on the concurrent behaviour of interacting component-based system. Indeed while these platforms provide convenient ways to describe the typed signatures of components, e.g. like CORBA's IDL, they offer a quite low-level support to describe the concurrent behaviour of component. The ability to describe and verify the concurrent behaviour of interacting components is key aspect In the development of large component-based software system. This study propose a component interface specification using process algebra and configuration's role which allows one to prove correctness of software architecture generated at design level as well as to define compatibility relations by our evolution rule and $\pi$-graph. Also, we shown on an appropriateness of a specification techniques and definitions proposed in this paper by case-study.

  • The development and the main features of an expert system for modeling the requirements of durable concrete in chemical exposure, called the Durable Concrete Advisor for Chemical Exposure (DCACE), are described. The system was developed to help improve the quality of concrete exposed to chemical environment by minimizing mistakes and deficiencies in selecting concrete constituents. Using Kappa-PC expert system shell, an object-oriented model was developed where the rule-based reasoning operates on or across objects. The American Concrete Institute manual of concrete practice was chosen as the main source of knowledge. Other textual sources were also consulted for knowledge acquisition. The major objectives of the research were acquisition and formalization of the relevant knowledge and building an expert system for making durable concrete for chemical exposure regarding sulfate attack, acid attack, seawater attack and carbonation. Similar to most expert systems, this system has explanation facilities, can be incrementally expanded, and has an easy to understand knowledge base. The performance of the system is demonstrated by an example session. The system is user-friendly and can be used as an educational tool.

  • As building information modeling (BIM) is expanding its influence in various fields of architecture, engineering, construction and facility management (AEC-FM) industry, BIM-based automated code compliance checking has become possible prospects. For the automated code compliance checking, requirements in building code need to be processed into explicit representation that enables automated reasoning. This paper aims to develop high-level methods that translate verb phrases into explicit representation. The high-level methods represent conditions, properties, and related actions of the building objects and clarify the core content of the constraints. The authors analyze building permit requirements in Korea Building Code and establish a standardized process of deriving the high-level methods. As a result, 60 kinds of the high-level methods were derived. In addition, method classification, analysis, and application are introduced. This study will contribute to the representation of explicit building code sentences and establishment of the automated building permit system of Korea.

  • 본 논문에서는 에너지 절약을 위한 방법으로 여름철 냉방의 적정 온도 및 풍향을 제어하기 위한 가상의 시뮬레이션을 목적으로 열 영상과 퍼지 추론 규칙을 적용한 온도 및 풍향 제어 기법을 제안한다. 온도 제어를 위한 가상 시뮬레이션에서 열 영상을 분석하기 위해서 영상을 $300{\times}400$의 크기를 가지는 색상 분포 영상으로 변환한다. 색상 분포 영상은 Red, Magenta, Yellow, Green, Sky, Blue의 온도 값을 가지는 R, G, B 값이며 각 색상은 $ 24.0^{\circ}C$에서 $27.0^{\circ}C$의 분포의 온도 값을 가진다. 색상 분포 영상은 아래 계층부터 레벨1에서 레벨10의 높이 계층으로 분류한다. 분류한 각 계층은 고유의 색상 분포도를 가지며 색상이 가지는 온도 수치에 따라서 계층별로 온도를 구성한다. 풍향 제어를 위한 각 계층의 높이는 레벨1에서 레벨3까지는 하위층이며, 레벨 4부터 레벨 7은 중간층, 레벨 8부터 레벨 10은 상위층으로 분류한다. 각 계층의 온도와 높이 레벨 값은 온도 조절과 풍향의 우선 순위, 강도 조절, 지속 시간을 구하기 위한 파라미터이다. 실내 공간의 전체적인 온도의 균형과 풍향을 제어하는 과정으로 풍향의 방향, 지속시간을 적용하고 풍향의 강도를 구하기 위해서 색상 분포영상의 각 구간의 온도 및 높이의 특징을 적용하여 퍼지 소속 함수를 설계한 후, 소속 함수의 소속도를 구하고 퍼지 추론 규칙을 적용하여 풍향의 강도를 구한다.

  • 자궁 경부 세포진 영상의 핵 추출을 위해서는 영상의 배경과 핵 그리고 세포질 영역의 구분이 중요하다. 또한 정상 세포핵과 암종 세포핵의 구분 및 인식을 위해서는 세포핵들의 형태학적 특징을 이용한 분류 기준을 세워야한다. 본 논문에서는 자궁 경부 세포진 영상에서 세포핵의 후보 영역과 핵을 추출하기 위해 현미경 400배율 확대 사진을 획득하는 과정에서 훼손된 컬러 영상을 복원하기 위한 방법으로 Lighting Compensation을 적용하여 영상을 보정한다. 그리고 배경 영역과 세포핵 영역을 구분하기 위해 영상의 R,G,B 영역의 히스토그램의 분포를 이용하여 배경을 제거한다. 배경이 제거된 영상을 그레이 영상으로 변환 한 후, 히스토그램 명암도의 값을 이용하여 세포핵 영역과 세포질을 분류하여 세포핵 영역을 추출한다. 그리고 Kapur 방법을 적용하여 세포핵 영역의 엔트로피 누적확률을 구한 후, 영상을 이진화 한다. Kapur 방법이 적용된 이진화 영상에서 세포핵 영역의 중심과 주위 화소를 비교하는 $3\times3$ 마스크를 적용하여 영상의 미세한 잡음을 제거 한 후, 8방향 윤곽선 추적 알고리즘을 적용하여 최종적으로 세포핵 영역을 추출한다. 추출된 세포핵의 영역을 분류 및 인식하는 과정으로 세포의 외각의 방향성 정보, 핵의 크기, 그리고 면적 비율의 특징을 이용하여 퍼지 소속 함수를 설계한 후, 소속 함수의 소속도를 구하고 퍼지 추론 규칙을 적용하여 자궁 경부 세포진 영상에서 정상 세포핵 및 암종 세포핵을 인식한다.

  • As the Internet is used widely, criminal offense that use computer is increasing, and an information security technology to remove this crime is becoming competitive power of the country. In this paper, we suggest network-based intrusion detection system that use fuzzy expert system. This system can decide quick intrusion decision from attack pattern applying fuzzy rule through the packet classification method that is done similarity of protocol and fixed time interval. Proposed system uses fuzzy logic to detect attack from network traffic, and gets analysis result that is automated through fuzzy reasoning. In present network environment that must handle mass traffic, this system can reduce time and expense of security
