This paper proposes the effective compensation method of the rotor time constant of induction motor. An indirect vector control method is highly dependent on the motor parameters. To solve the problem of performance degradation due to parameter variation in an indirect vector control of induction motor, we compensate the rotor time constant by current error feedback. The proposed method is a simple on-line rotor time constant compensation method using the information from terminal voltages and currents. As the current error, difference between current command and estimated current, approaches to zero, the value of rotor time constant in an indirect vector controller follows the real value of induction motor. This scheme is valid transient region as well as steady state region regardless of low or high speed. This method is verified by computer simulation. For this, we constructed the simulation model of induction motor, indirect vector controller and current regulated PWM (CRPWM) voltage source inverter (VSI) using SIMULINK in MATLAB.

This paper proposes a new approach to the designed of visual feedback control system based on visual servoing method. The main focus of this paper is presented how it is effective to use many features for improving the accuracy of the visual feedback control of industrial articulated robot for assembling and inspection of parts. Some rank conditions, which relate the image Jacobian, and the control performance are derived. It is also proven that the accuracy is improved by increasing the number of features. The effectiveness of redundant features is verified by the real time experiments on a SCARA type robot(FARA) made in samsung electronics company.

In this paper the feedback linearization of the valve-controlled nonlinear hydraulic velocity control system and the implementation of the digital state feedback controller is studied. The $C^{\infty}$ nonlinear transfomation to the electro-hydraulic velocity control system, which transforms nonlinear system to linear equivalent one, is obtained. It is shown that this transformation is global one. The digital controller to this linearized model is obtained by using the one-step ahead state estimator and implemented to real plant. The proposed implementation method is easier than the other proposed methods and it is possible to control in real time. The experiment and simulation study show that the implementation of the digital state feedback controller based on the feedback linearized model is successful..

In this paper, we propose a flew technique to the design and real-time control of an adaptive controller for robotic manipulator based on digital signal processors. The Texas Instruments DSPs(TMS320C80) chips are used in implementing real-time adaptive control algorithms to provide enhanced motion control performance for dual-arm robotic manipulators. In the proposed scheme, adaptation laws are derived from model reference adaptive control principle based on the improved Lyapunov second method. The proposed adaptive controller consists of an adaptive feed-forward and feedback controller and time-varying auxiliary controller elements. The proposed control scheme is simple in structure, fast in computation, and suitable for real-time control. Moreover, this scheme does not require any accurate dynamic modeling, nor values of manipulator parameters and payload. Performance of the proposed adaptive controller is illustrated by simulation and experimental results for a dual arm robot manipulator with eight joints. joint space and cartesian space.

The stabilization control of ball-beam system is difficult because of its nonlinearity and structural unstability. Futhermore, a series of classical methods such as the PID and the full state feedback controller(FSFC) based on the local linearizations have narrow stabilizable regions. At the same time, the fine tunings of their gain parameters are also troublesome. Therefore, in this paper, three improved design techniques of stabilization controller for a ball-beam system were proposed. These parameter tuning methods in the double PID controller(DPIDC), the FSFC and the a sliding mode controller(SMC) were dependent upon the Real Value Elitist Genetic Algorithm (RVEGA). Finally, by applying the DPIDC, the FSFC and the Real Variable Elitist Genetic Algorithm based Sliding Mode Control(RVEGA SMC) to the stabilizations of a ball-beam system, the performances of the RVEGA SMC technique were showed to be superior to those of two other type controllers.

This paper is concerned to constitute a semi-active realtime feedback vibration control system and evaluate it through experiments in order to control in realtime the vibration externally generated, specially on the bridges which is structurally flexible. For the experiment of vibration control, we built a model bridge structure of Seohae Grand Bridge in a 1/200 reduced form and inflicted El-centro wave on the model structure also in a reduced force considering the lab condition. The externally excited vibration was to be controled by placing a shear type MR damper vertically on the center of bridge span, and the response (displacement and acceleration) of structure was to be acquired by placing LVDT and Accelerometer at the same time. As for the experiment concerning controlling vibration, a realtime feedback vibration control experiments were performed under each different condition largely such as un-control, passive on/off control, Lyapunov stability theory control, and Clipped-optimal control. Its control performance under different condition was quantitatively evaluated in terms of the peak absolute displacements, the peak absolute accelerations and the power required for control on the center of span. The results of experiments proved that the Lyapunov control and clipped-iptimal control were effective to decrease the displacement and acceleration of the structure, and also to decrease the power consumption to a great extent. Finally, the semi-active realtime feedback vibration control system constituted in this research was proven to be an effective way to control and manage the vibration generated on bridge structure.

Structural control technologies have attracted great interest from the earthquake engineering community over the last few decades as an effective method of reducing undesired structural responses. Traditional structural control systems employ large quantities of cables to connect structural sensors, actuators, and controllers into one integrated system. To reduce the high-costs associated with labor-intensive installations, wireless communication can serve as an alternative real-time communication link between the nodes of a control system. A prototype wireless structural sensing and control system has been physically implemented and its performance verified in large-scale shake table tests. This paper introduces the design of this prototype system and investigates the feasibility of employing decentralized and partially decentralized control strategies to mitigate the challenge of communication latencies associated with wireless sensor networks. Closed-loop feedback control algorithms are embedded within the wireless sensor prototypes allowing them to serve as controllers in the control system. To validate the embedment of control algorithms, a 3-story half-scale steel structure is employed with magnetorheological (MR) dampers installed on each floor. Both numerical simulation and experimental results show that decentralized control solutions can be very effective in attaining the optimal performance of the wireless control system.
In the Internet, multimedia data transfer is hard to guarantee the characteristics of the Real-Time because of the Best-Effort of the nature of IP, then additional mechanism is applied to multimedia application for real-time data. In this paper, we introduce the nature of multimedia and the necessary facility for real-time protocol. We propose protocol layer, which has necessary function above mentioned and offer the end-to-end transfer far real-time data. Also, the proposed protocol perform a next low operation: 1) a required information for QoS control by using Feedback mechanism is obtained from sender, 2) divided a transferred packet by delay and loss priority. 3) recognized the low service models, and 4) decided a bandwidth and QoS according to a network state

In this paper, a visual servoing control technique of humanoid robot arms is implemented for tracking a moving object. An embedded time-delayed controller is designed on an FPGA(Programmable field gate array) chip and implemented to control humanoid robot arms. The position of the moving object is detected by a stereo vision camera and converted to joint commands through the inverse kinematics. Then the robot arm performs visual servoing control to track a moving object in real time fashion. Experimental studies are conducted and results demonstrate the feasibility of the visual feedback control method for a moving object tracking task by the humanoid robot arms called the ROBOKER.
The control of diamond turning is usually achieved through a laser-interferometer feedback of slide position. If the tool post is rigid and the material removal process is relatively static, then such a non-collocated position feedback control scheme may surface. However, as the accuracy requirement gets tighter and desired surface contours become more complex, the need for a direct tool-tip sensing becomes inevitable. The physical constraints of the machining process prohibit any reasonable implementation of a tool-tip motion measurement. It is proposed that the measured force normal to the face of the workpiece can be filtered through an appropriate admittance transfer function to result in the estimated depth of cut. This can be compared to the desired depth of cut to generate the adjustment control action in addition to position feedback control. In this work, the design methodology on the admittance model-based control with a conventional controller is presented. The recursive least-squares algorithm with forgetting factor is proposed to identify the parameters and update the cutting process in real time. The normal cutting forces are measured to identify the cutting dynamics in the real diamond turning process using the precision dynamometer. Based on the parameter estimation of cutting dynamics and the admittance model-based nanodynamic control scheme, simulation results are shown.
