저궤도 위성의 통과시간에서 관제 시스템의 수신 데이터 패킷 성능 예측 (Performance Estimation of Receiving Data Parket of TT&C System on the Pass Time of LEO Satellite)

  • 저궤도위성 시스템은 지구 및 과학 관측분야(지도제작, 해양생태감시, 우주환경 관측, 기상관측, 대기관측 등)와 군사분야(군사통신, 첩보, 적군정찰 등)에서 사용되었으며, 최근에는 상업적 이용을 위해 GMPCS를 위한 이동위성통신 분야에서 개발이 진행되고 있다. 우리나라에서는 1999년 10월 발사를 목표로 다목적 실용위성 1호가 개발되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 저궤도위성 관제시스템을 위한 위성링크를 설계하고 위성의 움직임에 따른 위성의 통과시간과 지구국의 양각 관계를 계산한다. 그리고 수신데이터의 패킷오율을 확률이론에 의해 유도하고, RT모드와 PB모드 그리고 RT+RNG모드에 대한 패킷오율을 위성과 통과시간에 따라 예측한다. 패킷오율 계산결과는 RT모드, PB모드, RT+RNG모드의 순으로 좋으며 EFP의 평균도 각각 99.999999%, 99.995945%로 계산되었다. 따라서 원격측정 데이터의 전송순서는 위성의 통과시간에 따른 PER 순서로 즉, RT, PB, RT+RNG순으로 결정한다.

새로운 실시간 공구방향오차 모델에 기초한 5 축 연동제어 시스템 (5-Axis Cross-Coupling Control System Based on a Novel Real-Time Tool Orientation Error Model)

  • 5-axis CNC machining now is getting popular because it can deal with complex shapes such as impeller, turbine blade and propeller without additional equipment or process, proving a set of various tool orientations. CAM software related to 5-axis machining is being developed quickly so that users can take advantage of potential capacities of 5-axis machine tools. However, only a few researches can be found in the area of control strategy development for 5-axis machining. This paper proposes a 5-axis cross-coupling control system based on a novel tool orientation error model. The proposed tool orientation error model provides accurate information on the tool orientation error in real time, which in turn enables directly controlling the tool orientation accuracy. The proposed control system also employs a contour error model to calculate the contour error and reflect it in the control as well. The accuracy of the proposed tool orientation error model is verified and the performance of the 5-axis cross-coupling control system in terms of both contouring and tool orientation accuracy is evaluated through computer simulations compared with existing 5-axis control systems.

  • 인터넷상의 실시간 음성 전송 시에 발생하는 손실을 은닉하기 위한 다수의 알고리즘들이 제안되고 있다. 이 알고리즘들의 주 목적은 적은 대역폭을 사용하여 손실을 복원하고 복원 후 좋은 음질을 보장하는 것이다. 손실 은닉 알고리즘들은 receiver based와 sender- / receiver-based로 나뉘어진다. 본 논문에서 sender- 와 receiver-based 복원 알고리즘을 CELP를 사용하는 저 비트율 코덱에 적용하고자 한다.

  • 실시간의 특성을 가지는 데이터의 경우 네트워크상에서 분실된 패킷을 복구시키기 위해서 FEC 방법을 사용한다. FEC는 최소한의 지연만으로 손실 패킷의 복구를 효율적으로 할 수 있는 장점을 가지고 있으나 네트워크상에서의 패킷 손실 특성에 많이 의존되는 경향이 있다. ITU-T의 Study Group 16 에서의 Real-Time Transport Protocol(RTP)를 사용하여 네트워크에서 분실된 패킷을 복원시키는 방법으로 Media-independent error-correction scheme을 정하였다. 이 Scheme에 의해 만들어진 error-correction을 위한 신호화 media bitstream은 UDP 에 의해 encapsulation될 RTP에 실리게 된다. Scheme은 real-time이라는 환경에 유리하도록 bandwidth 와 latency 그리고 cost를 최소화하려고 했으며 이에 따라 네 가지 scheme을 정하였다. 네 가지의 Scheme은 오버헤드와 지연시간이 크기가 차별화를 두어 네트워크 환경의 변화에 적응하도록 하였다. 그러나 네트워크 환경에 보다 더 탄력적이며 효율적으로 적응하기 위해서 또 하나의 scheme을 제안한다. 새로 고안한 이 다섯 번째 scheme은 scheme 3 에 비해 작은 latency를 가지고 장점이 있는 반면 연속적으로 분실된 패킷에 대한 복원확률이 다소 떨어진다. 하지만 scheme 1과 2에 비해서는 연속적인 패킷 분실의 복원확률이 높아 네트워크환경에 따라 scheme 4를 사용하면 네 개의 scheme을 사용하여 분실패킷의 복원을 하는 경우보다 보다 효율적인 전송과 복원이 이루어질 것이다.

대면적 공작물의 기하학적 Waviness 측정 (Waviness measurement of workpiece with a Large Surface Area)

  • A workpiece with a large surface area is likely to be uneven due to form error and waviness. These geometric disturbances can cause inaccurate micro shapes to be formed when micro features are micro-grooved into the surface and cause the resulting workpiece to fail to function as desired. Thus, real-time measurement and compensation is required to guarantee the form accuracy of micro features while machining a workpiece with a large surface area. In this study, a method is suggested for real-time measurement of geometric error for the micro grooving of a large flat surface using a laser displacement sensor. The measurements are demonstrated for the workpieces with large surface areas and the experimental results show that the waviness and form error are well detected.

An Evaluation of Error Performance Estimation Schemes for DS1 Transmission Systems Carrying Live Traffic

  • DS1 transmission systems use framing bit errors, bipolar violations and code-detected errors to estimate the bit error rate when determining errored and severely errored seconds. Using the coefficient of variation under the memoryless binary symmetric channel assumption, a basic framework to evaluate these estimation schemes is proposed to provide a practical guideline in determining errored and severely errored seconds which are fundamental in monitoring the real-ime error performance of DS1 transmission systems carrying live traffic. To evaluate the performance of the cyclic redundancy check code (CRC), a computer simulation model is used. Several drawbacks of the superframe format in association with real time error performance monitoring are discussed. A few recommendations are suggested in measuring errored and severely errored seconds, and determining service limit alarms through the use of the superframe format. Furthermore, we propose a new robust scheme for determining service limit alarms which take into consideration the limitations of some estimation schemes for the time interval of one second.

Accuracy Evaluation of IGS-RTS Corrections to Stand-Alone Positioning Based on GPS Code-Pseudorange Measurements

  • The International GNSS Service (IGS) provides the IGS-Real Time Service (IGS-RTS) corrections that can be used in stand-alone positioning in real time. In this study, the positioning accuracy before and after the application of the corrections to broadcast ephemeris by applying the IGS-RTS corrections at code pseudo-range based stand-alone positioning was compared with positioning result using precise ephemeris. The analysis result on IGS-RTS corrections showed that orbit error and clock error were 0.05 m and 0.5 ns compared to precise ephemeris and accuracy improved by about 8.5% compared to the broadcast ephemeris-applied result when the IGS-RTS was applied to positioning. Furthermore, regionally dispersed five observatories were selected to analyze the effect of external environments on positioning accuracy and positioning errors according to location and time were compared as well as the number of visible satellites and position dilution of precision by observatory were analyzed to verify a correlation with positioning error.

  • DGPS(Differential Global Positioning System) and RTK(RealTime Kinematic) is in one of today's most widely used surveying techniques. But It's use is restricted by the distance between reference station and rover station and it is difficult to process data in realtime by it's own orgnizational limitation in precise measurement of positioning. To meet these new demands, In This paper, new DGPS and RTK correction data services through Internet and PSTN(Public Switched Telephony Network) have been proposed. For this purpose, we implemented performance a DGPS and RTK error correction data transmission system for long-distance using the internet and PSTN network which allows a mobile user to increase the distance at which the rover receiver is located from the reference in realtime. and we analyzed and compared DGPS and RTK performance by experiments through the Internet and PSTN network with the distance and the time.

Accelerating Soft-Decision Reed-Muller Decoding Using a Graphics Processing Unit

  • The Reed-Muller code is one of the efficient algorithms for multiple bit error correction, however, its high-computation requirement inherent in the decoding process prohibits its use in practical applications. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a graphics processing unit (GPU)-based parallel error control approach using Reed-Muller R(r, m) coding for real-time wireless communication systems. GPU offers a high-throughput parallel computing platform that can achieve the desired high-performance decoding by exploiting massive parallelism inherent in the algorithm. In addition, we compare the performance of the GPU-based approach with the equivalent sequential approach that runs on the traditional CPU. The experimental results indicate that the proposed GPU-based approach exceedingly outperforms the sequential approach in terms of execution time, yielding over 70× speedup.

무선랜에서의 실시간 및 비실시간 트래픽 스케줄링 (Scheduling of Real-time and Nonreal-time Traffics in IEEE 802.11 Wireless LAN)

  • Media Access Control (MAC) Protocol in IEEE 802.11 Wireless LAN standard supports two types of services, synchronous and asynchronous. Synchronous real-time traffic is served by Point Coordination Function (PCF) that implements polling access method. Asynchronous nonreal-time traffic is provided by Distributed Coordination Function (DCF) based on Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance (CSMA/CA) protocol. Since real-time traffic is sensitive to delay, and nonreal-time traffic to error and throughput, proper traffic scheduling algorithm needs to be designed. But it is known that the standard IEEE 802.11 scheme is insufficient to serve real-time traffic. In this paper, real-time traffic scheduling and admission control algorithm is proposed. To satisfy the deadline violation probability of the real time traffic the downlink traffic is scheduled before the uplink by Earliest Due Date (EDD) rule. Admission of real-time connection is controlled to satisfy the minimum throughput of nonreal-time traffic which is estimated by exponential smoothing. Simulation is performed to have proper system capacity that satisfies the Quality of Service (QoS) requirement. Tradeoff between real-time and nonreal-time stations is demonstrated. The admission control and the EDD with downlink-first scheduling are illustrated to be effective for the real-time traffic in the wireless LAN.
