  • Purpose - This study aims to explore the relationship between housing and land prices, with a specific emphasis on the impact of government policies on these factors such as land supply quantity and the ratio of residential land to total land supplied. The goal is to identify the most effective government intervention strategies for controlling both housing and land prices. Design/methodology/approach - Data from 70 primary and medium-sized cities in China spanning from 2003 to 2017 are utilized in this research. The analysis employs a panel vector autoregressive (PVAR) model, with a primary focus on examining the relationships among housing prices, land prices, and government intervention policies. Findings - Housing and land prices are influenced by various factors. Through impulse response analysis and variance decomposition, it is observed that both housing and land prices are predominantly influenced by their internal dynamics, with comparatively weaker effects attributed to policy interventions. Research implications or Originality - By investigating the impact of government policies on housing and land prices, This study establishes a foundation for effective price control measures. Our study advocates for a comprehensive examination of China's land supply mechanism to enhance understanding of the pathways through which government policies influence the markets.

  • The set covering(SC) problem has many practical application of modeling not only real world problems in civilian but also in military. In this paper we study optimal allocation model for maximizing utility of consolidating old fashioned and new air defense weapon system like Patriot missile and develop the new computational algorithm for the SC problem by using simulated annealing(SA) algorithm. This study examines three different methods: 1) simulated annealing(SA); 2) accelerated simulated annealing(ASA); and 3) selection by effectiveness degree(SED) with SA. The SED is adopted as an enhanced SA algorithm that the neighboring solutions could be generated only in possible optimal feasible region at the PERTURB function. Furthermore, we perform various experiments for both a reduced and an extended scale sized situations depending on the number of customers(protective objective), service(air defense), facilities(air defense artillery), threat, candidate locations, and azimuth angles of Patriot missile. Our experiment shows that the SED obtains the best results than others.

  • Recently, Korean medium-sized medical organizations require innovative strategies. Network-driven concerns in Korean medical organization have been a front burner issue to enhance economic and managerial efficiencies. Effective network-driven collaboration depends upon effective processes and economics strategies among medical providers group. From this motivation, we studied and provided the systems' theoretical background and networked hospital system structures. The aim of suggested research model in this paper is to overcome demerit of stand-alone medium-sized hospitals and analyze a system dynamics model to measure managerial performances. The developed system dynamics model is to quantify the effects of network strategy based on the historical financial data of real-life hospitals network experiences. The network effects are resulted in efficiencies and effectiveness enhancements in competitiveness through advertisement and effective education system. The simulations of system dynamics results can explain the improvement in financial outcome by joining in the network group. The network effects are shown more effective in dental hospital than other groups. In conclusion, it is expected that network effects have a critical influence of managerial, marketing, and medical collaboration performance for any type of medical hospitals.

  • Civil structures may experience progressive deterioration and damage under environmental and operational conditions over their service life. Finite element (FE) model updating method is one of the most important approaches for damage identification in structures due to its capabilities in structural health monitoring. Although various damage detection approaches have been investigated on structures, there are limited studies on large-sized space structures. Thus, this paper aims to investigate the applicability and efficiency of sensitivity-based FE model updating framework for damage identification in large space structures from a distinct point of view. This framework facilitates modeling and model updating in large and geometric complicated space structures. Considering sensitivity-based FE model updating and vibration measurements, the discrepancy between acceleration response data in real damaged structure and hypothetical damaged structure have been minimized through adjusting the updating parameters. The feasibility and efficiency of the above-mentioned approach for damage identification has finally been demonstrated with two numerical examples: a flat double layer grid and a double layer diamatic dome. According to the results, this method can detect, localize, and quantify damages in large-scaled space structures very accurately which is robust to noisy data. Also, requiring a remarkably small number of iterations to converge, typically less than four, demonstrates the computational efficiency of this method.

  • Smart factory companies are installing various sensors in production facilities and collecting field data. However, there are relatively few companies that actively utilize collected data, academic research using field data is actively underway. This study seeks to develop a model that detects anomalies in the process by analyzing spindle power data from a company that processes shafts used in automobile throttle valves. Since the data collected during machining processing is time series data, the model was developed through unsupervised learning by applying the Holt Winters technique and various deep learning algorithms such as RNN, LSTM, GRU, BiRNN, BiLSTM, and BiGRU. To evaluate each model, the difference between predicted and actual values was compared using MSE and RMSE. The BiLSTM model showed the optimal results based on RMSE. In order to diagnose abnormalities in the developed model, the critical point was set using statistical techniques in consultation with experts in the field and verified. By collecting and preprocessing real-world data and developing a model, this study serves as a case study of utilizing time-series data in small and medium-sized enterprises.

  • In Indonesia, micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) are introduced to increase income by providing many easier jobs to improve economic growth. They have also been reported to be generally supportive of the local industry. The government policies on investment and expenditure have the ability to promote MSMEs and economic growth. Therefore, this research was conducted to analyze the theoretical background and empirical study to investigate government's role to promote MSMEs growth in Indonesia. The secondary data after the 2008 global financial crisis recorded quarterly from 2009 to 2019 Q3 were analyzed using the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) regression model. The results showed government expenditure has a positive and significant contribution to small- and medium-sized enterprises, but the effect was not significant for micro-businesses. Meanwhile, the investment sector was discovered to have a positive and significant effect on MSMEs. The policy implications of the Indonesian government are expected to focus on its expenditure's role as the most important factor for "social-economic protection of the community" through micro-enterprises, which are numerous and more attached to the real community economic-social life. Therefore, the existence of micro-businesses is very helpful for the lower classes despite their high vulnerability to crisis.

  • This paper focuses on the sensitivity analysis for the calibration of an agent-based simulation that analyzes the brand-level diffusion dynamics of competing products in the domestic premium mid-sized car market. In this paper, we employ a consumer-agent model that imitates the purchasing characteristics and behaviors of the consumers. The group of consumer agents that are socially interconnected represents a virtual market. By spreading the product information from previous adopters to potential consumer agents in the virtual market, the word-of-mouth phenomenon emerges like in the real market. The phenomenon influences the product choice of potential consumer agents that causes the variation of the product diffusion dynamics. In this simulation model, it is important to calibrate the virtual market parameters(e.g., ratio of innovators, social network structure, purchase time decision method) so that the virtual market can simulate the real market. However, it is difficult to measure these parameters directly from the real market. In this paper, we analyze the diffusion dynamics of simulations under various conditions in comparison with real sales data to calibrate the parameters.

  • Recently, a real-time, pocket-sized aethalometer (microAeth$^{(R)}$ model AE51) has been developed by Magee Scientific Inc. for measuring the concentration of black carbon in the atmosphere. In this study, two aethalometers, models AE-16 and AE-51, which measure the optical absorption of carbon particles at infrared 880 nm, were operated at time interval of 5-min between January 9 and February 10, 2010 at an urban site of Gwangju, to compare the accuracy of black carbon (BC) concentrations reported from the AE-51 model and to investigate reasonable sampling time of filter media in the AE-51. The air samples in the AE-51 and AE-16 models are collected on T60 (Teflon coated glass fiber) filter media (filter spot area: 0.07 $cm^2$) and quartz fiber roll-tape filter (filter spot area: 1.67 $cm^2$), respectively. Real-time measurement results indicate that when the filters were clean, the AE-51 BC was greater than or similar to the AE-16 BC data. However as the filter spots become darker, the AE-16 BC concentrations were higher than the AE-51 BC data and the difference in the BC concentrations from two AE models becomes gradually increased. Relative error in the AE-51 and AE-16 BC concentrations showed significance difference depending on used time of the filter in the AE-51 model, weather pattern, levels of air pollution, etc, ranging from 11.5% (used time of the filter in AE-51: 1,595 min) to 52.5% (used time of the filter in AE-51: 2,085 min). When considering the used time of one filter ticket in the AE-51 model and difference (or relative error %) between AE-16 and AE-51 BC concentrations, it is recommended that the standard sampling time per one filter ticket within the AE-51 model be less than approximately 24 hr (1,440 min) under the normal weather conditions except for severe haze and mist events.
